Default bye-bye rui costa

AC Milan-bound Manuel Rui Costa brought down the curtain on his successful seven-year spell at Fiorentina by breaking down in tears at a send-off organised by the club.

The playmaker has signed a five-year contract worth £3 million a season with AC Milan.

More than 8,000 Fiorentina supporters gathered at the Artemio Franchi stadium on Friday to give their thanks to the midfielder, who failed to hold back the tears.

The fans chanted his name and waved a banner which said 'Thanks Manuel'."

"It is difficult for to me say anything at the moment," said the player.

"I just want to thank everyone for the seven years that I have lived and played football here. I don't want to think about AC Milan and my future right now."

Rui Costa put pen to paper on a contract with AC Milan earlier this month, where he will join up with former Viola coach Fatih Terim.

The coveted international agreed the terms of a deal that saw him join Filippo Inzaghi, Pirlo, Cosmin Contra and Javi Moreno as the club's new signings.

Rui Costa had been Fiorentina's number one playmaker since signing for the club from Benfica in 1994 for £6 million. At the time, it was the most the Florence team had ever spent on a player.

He scored nine goals in his first year but did not hit as many as that again until the 1998-99 season, when he netted ten goals and set up countless others for Gabriel Batistuta.

another great player leaving us, goodbye

It's a sad moment for all of us, now we have no superstars. But there is always someone who will take Rui Costa's place in our hearts, both Morfeo and Gonzalez look very promising, they are extremely talented, and if that rumour about Morfeo joining Bologna was wrong, we'll have two players who will surely turn out to be the new Rui Costa. Remember how Rui Costa was when he first joined us, these two players will only need to play and gain experience.

Chiesa has to be sold man.

Otherwise Fio will no longer exsits because the debts that she has. Oh and it looks like he wont be enough. Repka and Gomes are about to go too.

I don't think any of this will happen, VCG surely have something in his mind, we'll get some money which we actually loaned to one of VCG's companies, and his mother may cover some of the costs if all that didn't help. But as I can see right now, there is no intentions whatsoever of selling Chiesa. It seems like the players we currently have will remain for next season, except Pierini who wants to leave.

Pierini is insane. He wants to leave to a big team, he already talks about moving to Milan or Roma. Maybe he's thinking that he's a superstar right now, when he actually is nothing more than another defender in the Viola defence.
