The problem is, Jardel's style of play needs a team working FOR him, and the guys who cross the ball to him have to know how he moves, which is hard in the national team, since we never have time to actually TRAIN the squad: If the match is on wednesday, the players arrive monday. Who has time to make a team mesh?
So the Brazilian squad is a loosely-arranged band of individual club stars who barely know each other. The multitude of quality players available for most positions also is counterproductive, as any mistake a player makes may have him removed and substituted by someone else, who will not be allowed to fail either. Is this a mess? Yes! Welcome to Brazilian soccer: Lotsa young talent, all run by morons.
