Rumours are getting bigger that Petkovic is leaving for China after the Milennium Cup to take on a new quest.

Who should (will) be our next coach ?

1) Milutinovic
2) Santrac
3) Antic
4) Stepanovic ...

Now ... I'm going to summarize these coach's a little...

Basically Milutinovic coached every national team you could think of including Nigeria and Mexico. In my mind he's a coach that can turn underdogs to favourites.

Santrac was our coach in World Cup 98. One fact I do not like about him is that he actually sang "Hej Sloveni" while our fans were booing at it. He had the best side in 98, with Mijatovic, Jugovic, Mihajlovic all at their peak, but all he brought us is a 2-1 loss in the 1/8 finals and also a topscorer named Komljenovic ! lol !

Antic has been coaching Atletico Madrid for years but I believe that he is at Real Oviedo right now. With Antic , Atletico had it's best years, and it's worst years in my opinion. He hasn't been given a shot at our NT yet.

Stepanovic ... a coach that I know from his years in Germany. He coached the "little club" Fortuna Duesseldorf which always played a mid-table role in the Bundesliga. He's a hell of a guy, and I think he would get along with our players very well. One famous saying of his "Das Lebe geht weiter"
"Life goes on" ... was his saying after he got fired by the club! LOL

Default PIKSI!!!!!!!!!

PIKSI!!!!!!!!! This man earlier in the year said he would be interested in becoming the next Yugo national team head coach. He knows, football very well and understands the new style of playing. He also knows most of our players (has played with most of them). He would be a great coach. !

If he was offered a head coaching job for Yugo, trust me he would quit Nagoya the day he was presented with the coaching job.

No he wouldn't , he's been playing there for years and the fans and the leauge respect him more than any player that has ever played there. Stojkovic in fact was offered to be the head coach of the national team after SERBIA's exit from EURO2000, him as a coach and Savicevic as his assistant, but Stojkovic rejected and instead offered Petkovic as a coach.

And to add to that , I thought you guys might find it interesting ... a curve in Nagoya's stadium (might actually be the whole stadium) is going to be renamed to PIXI Curve, or Pixi Stadium in the matter. Have you ever heard of a stadium getting a name by a player ?!?! Don't think so , and that's how much they appreciate Piksi. Another thing ... the 7 (??!?) years that Stojkovic has been playing in Japan he has won a car every year, and has participated in the All Star Team every year. He was chosen Player of the Year quite a few times. He is a living LEGEND !

Yeah but thats just because he wanted to play one more year, can't blame him for that. I have a feeling he will become our next coach.

Stojkovic was never officially offered the coaching job after EURO 2000. Those were just rumors.

I hope it's not Santrac again. I mean he was good, but obviously not good enough to take us to the next level.

Milutinovic - heh now that i know his nephew I got the hook up

Antic is someone that i think we should definately consider. If you recall he was actually rumored to be one of the candidates after Santrac (or Zivadinovic?) quit but he said that if he is to be the coach then he needs to be allowed to run things as he wishes... not what some goofs at FSJ say.

Ivan, those rumours about Stojkovic were true. He said that he wouldn't coach until next summer, but he extended his contract (I believe) till next December.

Because he was going to take over that summer anyway, he preferred to have somebody he is in a good relationship with in the coaching position and he recommended Ilija Petkovic to FSJ.
