Re: chivas usa
Yeah, they tied in the San Jose game.
Their only victory was against Real Salt Lake.
Do you feel loyal to CD Chivas USA simply becasue you already were a Chivas (FMF) fan?

I got no words for this team lol i saw their game today against Galaxy and they lost AGAIN, 2-0.
So far they are:
1 Win, 8 Loss, 1 Tie
Whats your views on this team? Whats not working? Or do you not care lol?

Re: Whats up with Chivas USA?
They have good incividual skill, but they are not playing liek they need to play in MLS, the players get pushed off the ball, and they get shut down on every attacking effort they make. If you watch one of their attacks, you might see 2 or 3 people upfront, if that, and they can't score goals because of it. I think in time, they will adapt to the American game, and they will start playing up to key, they have a good fan base, and like I said, they have the skill, just need to put it into motion.

Are Chivas USA basically the JR team for the real Chivas team in Mexico?

Re: Whats up with Chivas USA?
I think this team could be one of the best teams in the MLS in the future, their problem, they are a a very young team.
They have some mexican american players, some of them are rookies, and others only have a few years in the league. They have some americans most of them very, very young, and then they have the foreign players, in theory the ones that should provide the experience, now within the foreigns there's two groups the small one with players from different countries, one from St. Vincent, one from Brazil and one from Costa Rica; and the second group of foreigns (at least in theory) are the large group of Mexican players, although they are considered foreigns they are actually closer to the team mistyc than the rest of the players in the team, a group of seven players.
Now in the first group of foreigns they are all veterans, but in the second group from the seven mexicans only 3 are veterans the rest are players that are considered in development by the Chivas and after obtaining some expirience in this team they would be promoted to the first team in Guadalajara, going to Chivas USA if you are a Mexican player only means two things.
1)You are young player and are in an intermediate phase between the mexican second division (primera A) and the first team, and you still need to be developed in a minor league like the MLS.
2)You are a veteran player in the first team that should help to sell shirts in Chivas USA, and still has some game to play in a minor league like the MLS.
This means that the team is too young and the veterans can get frustrated by the situation, because they are virtually alone (five players in group of 27 is not a lot). They even have some problems in the preseason with mexican veterans because they felt frustrated with the young players, even the franchise player and member of the mexican national team in USA 94 an France 98 Ramon Ramirez was about to leave the team before the begining of the season.
The team would need a lot of help to improve next year, now they are talking to sign another mexican veteran like Claudio Suarez and considering this terrible season they have been thinking not to wait until next season and send Francisco Palencia, the striker from Chivas Guadalajara to help the team. If they take a couple of more mexican veterans next season they woul be a great team in the future.

Re: Whats up with Chivas USA?
Well so far it looks like the fired the coach: Chivas USA remove Rongen as coach
"CARSON, Calif. -- Following a 1-8-1 start, Chivas USA stripped Thomas Rongen of his coaching duties on Monday.
The club named Rongen as the new sporting director. Assistant coach Javier "Zully" Ledesma will take over on an interim basis."
This quote gets me though, as if there weren't any "immigrant" issues in the U.S. already. LOL
"Cue said a new coach has not only been found but that he's agreed to terms on a contract. The only thing holding up the new coach's arrival is visa issues."
CD Chivas USA has the potential to become an awesome team. In some respects it is understandable simply because they're only a few weeks old. But they should at least be better than Real Salt Lake. I hope they at least finish the season better than them.

Re: Whats up with Chivas USA?
They tied last night against Kansas City Wizards.
So . . . not too bad for the interim coach!!
Chivas USA secure tie under Ledesma
CARSON, Calif. -- Change proved to be positive for Chivas USA as the club gained its first point in nearly a month in a 1-1 draw with the Kansas City Wizards at The Home Depot Center on Wednesday.
On Monday, Chivas USA relieved Thomas Rongen of his coaching duties. Wednesday, assistant coach Javier "Zully" Ledesma served as the interim coach as Hans Westerhof, reportedly the club's next coach, awaited approval of a work visa.
Under Ledesma, the Red-and-White stuck to its game plan. Francisco Mendoza did not start and Douglas Sequeira was away on national team duty, but otherwise the club fielded a familiar starting 11. The club responded to Rongen's removal by playing a composed match. Now with a win and two draws from 11 matches (five points), Chivas USA had not had a positive result since beating Real Salt Lake 1-0 on May 7. Previously, the Red-and-White had not had a point since April 9, a 3-3 draw at San Jose.
