Default Galatasaray?

No disrespect intended. I saw this name on a FIFA game, i think it was a club? Anywayz, if this Galatasaray is a club, which country is it from? I saw this name on FIFA 2001 last time i played it about 3 years ago and i've always wondered about that name ever since.

Oh, Turkish team huh. The reason i posted this in this forum is because the name of the forum is "Galatasaray", so i figured this was the spot where people talked about this team. What else can u tell me about this club, just curious.

First of all, since the Galatasaray Forum is under Turkish forum, I think its obvious where the team is from! I dont think you are from Europe because Galatasaray won UEFA Cup and Super Cup once in 2000. We Fenerbahce fans are their biggest rivals. There is this thing called "3 Giants" which are Fernerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas. They are the strongest teams. The reason why Galatasaray is more popular then Fenerbahce and Besiktas because they won a European Cup. But ppl into soccer deeply will know the other two as well. Galatsaray and Fenerbahce has 15 championship and Besiktas 11. This year is GS's 100th year anneversiary. Inter's Turkish player Emre Belezoglu, Blackburn's Turkish player Tugay Kerimoglu and more trasfered from Galatasaray.

Oh, pretty interesting. And yeah, i didn't notice that the Galatasaray forum was a sub forum under Turkish soccer forum, sorry about that. Ur right, i'm not from Europe, I live in the U.S. so i mostly fallow the cups and tournoments here in north and south america. I do fallow a lot of the leagues though in Europe like the spanish, english, and italian. But i am not too aware of the club tournoments in europe. Here in the Americas, i can tell u right now, club tournoments taking place are Chamnpions Cup and Copa Libertadores but what can u tell me about European club tournoments.

It is very hard to explain it! but I can suggest you to go to uefa.com and check out the cups from there. Here are the competitions in Europe:
Champions League: The most important cup in Europe. All the champions of the league's in Europe sends their champions to this cup but certain countries sends 3 teams or 2 or 1. Turkey sends 2 teams. Depends on the previous season in the cup both of them goes through a elimanation or one goes directly without a elimanition and the other one goes through a elimanation.
UEFA Cup: Second most important cup. Usually (as I said before it depends on the country) the 3rd to 4th(in their league) goes to this cup(?I think?)
Super Cup: Uefa Cup winners and Champions League winners plays this cup.
Inter Totto: Its not a very important cup for big clubs. I've seen big clubs didnt want to participate in this club if they had a bad season and finished in the mid-high of the table.

So this is pretty much it. But Champions League is worth following! A LOTS FUN!

Come on, don't make me us laugh. Red Star attendance is less than 2.000 people per game in the Serbian league. Don't make us laugh about Red Star fans then. If you want to see full stadiums almost every games, you should go to Turkey. But don't worry, I don't think the probability for you to meet a Turkish club is very low because you are always eliminated in the first rounds of European cups.

Bye bye Mr Serb

Yes, it was 14 years ago...

But now your team only lives on its past. Look, even the fans left your team, your stadium is always empty, and you don't even manage to fill it for derbies or european games. So don't try to scare us with RS Belgrade. Who knows, maybe your dream will be realized and you will meet small Turkish teams one day in Intertoto cup.

How do you know our stadium is empty? Have you ever been there when you can claim it? I am there every week. Not to mention big games (55.000-60.000 people).
