Cool Brazil vs Portugal Feb 6th 2007

Brazil vs Portugal (Emirates Stadium, London)
Feb 6th 2007

That's one of those good "friendlies", folks!...

Two great NTs (respectively 5th & 4th places in the last WC): Brazil, a renewed team with old and new stars, wanting to "show service", Portugal with new sensation Cristiano Ronaldo - great rivalry!...

Brazil & Portugal have already played 16 times, with 11 wins to the "pentacampeões mundiais", 2 ties, and 3 Portuguese victories.

Brazil scored 30 goals and took 11.

In the last game, in March 29th 2003, the Portuguese, commanded by Luiz Felipe Scolari, won by 2 x 1, in the old 'Estádio das Antas', in Porto. Pauleta and Deco scored, with Ronaldinho Gaúcho scoring for the Brazilians.

Left defender Roberto Carlos got a red card.

It will be Brazil's seventh game under coach Dunga direction.

In the 1st game, tie with Norway (1 x 1). In the sequence, wins over Argentina (3 x 0), Wales (2 x 0), Kuwait SC (4 x 0), Ecuador and Switzerland, the last two by 2 x 1.

All the games btw Brazil & Portugal:

08/04/1956 - 1 x 0 - Lisbon (POR)
11/06/1957 - 2 x 1 - Rio de Janeiro
16/06/1957 - 3 x 0 - São Paulo
06/05/1962 - 2 x 1 - São Paulo
09/05/1962 - 1 x 0 - Rio de Janeiro
21/04/1963 - 0 x 1 - (POR)
07/06/1964 - 4 x 1 - Rio de Janeiro
24/04/1965 - 0 x 0 - (POR)
19/07/1966 - 1 x 3 - (ING)
30/06/1968 - 2 x 0 - (MOZ)
09/07/1972 - 1 x 0 - Rio de Janeiro
05/05/1982 - 3 x 1 - São Luís
08/06/1983 - 4 x 0 - Coimbra (POR)
08/06/1989 - 4 x 0 - Rio de Janeiro
17/04/2002 - 1 x 1 - Lisbon (POR)
29/03/2003 - 1 x 2 - Porto (POR)

Who will win? ...

Both great teams. this should be a good friendly to watch. I hope Portugal wins, but Brazil has a better chance. It would be awesome to see Portugal win. What channel is it on in the U.S.?

yes should be a great game to watch 2 wonderful teams playing and both love playing attractive offensive football. In fact what you have here is 2 of the most exciting teams to watch in the world. Brazil has always been world class and in my opinion the best team not only when they have won the cup but give or take a team up or down they have been the greatest footballing Nation since I can ever remember. Portugal the last 10 years have really started to break out and show the world what they are capable of. The have been in the top 10 for over 10 years now and thats quite a feat. If one loves football this is a mouth watering game, being both play to there ability.

Iranfan Iam not from the US but from Canada so I dont know if the US networks be showing the game, perhaps ask one of the manY americans in here they may be able to help you. Here IN Canada I myself have to find out if any station local or otherwise will broadcast the game. The best bet for me is probably catching it on one of the Portuguese stations I get from satalite, that show games from Portugal and around the world.

Brazil vs Portugal matches are always exciting to watch because both teams play attractive, attacking football.

It will be interesting to watch technically skilled players such as C. Ronaldo, Deco, Quaresma, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Juninho on the pitch all at the same time. And then of course there is the added motivation you have due to the historically ties between the two countries.

Whatever the result, I expect to see a lot of "jogo bonito" by both teams.

Interesting game, Portugal is a team that can make it Brazil pretty difficult, but I'd have to put my money on Brazil. Player-wise they should have the edge, but that says nothing in football when teamplay counts as well.

Definetely going to watch this one.
