Cole fires Blues warning
Ashley Cole has warned Manchester United that Chelsea have yet to hit top gear following Sunday's stalemate between the Premiership title contenders.
With Liverpool and Arsenal both flattering to deceive this season, at least domestically, it looks as though the battle for the championship is now very much a two-horse race - with United currently leading from the front.
However, following a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, the home side were left to rue a second half display that failed to match the panache of the first, with Ricardo Carvalho's leveller ensuring the champions returned south with a share of the spoils.
Sunday's game embraced the old cliche that football is the proverbial game of two halves, as United dominated the first and Chelsea the second, with Cole confident that Jose Mourinho's men will up the ante when the title race really kicks on.
"We we are not performing anywhere as well as I know we can," he told the London Evening Standard.
"I have faced Chelsea in past years and they have been brilliant. We are not hitting that peak and when we do - watch out.
"It's still early but you don't want to go six points behind a great team like Manchester United.
"They're playing well and hopefully that is an advantage for us. We're not playing well and are only three points behind. This is the period when the title is won.
"We have qualified for the Champions League (knockout phase) and we have to pick up our Premiership form after a good second-half performance at Old Trafford."
Problem is Ashley .... neither have United! We've not hit anywhere near our potential yet but expect to see us play a lot better towards the end of the season.
