Why are some Muslims disobeying the Prophet?
In this weekend's Globe and Mail (Canada) Sheema Khan, a Muslim, writes an interesting article. I can't post a link as the net version is subscriber only. But it's against the publication of the cartoons, especially in Canada. She points out that Canadian service personnel may face hostility as a result of publication.
However, it seems some Muslims have strayed from the path when it comes to the Prophet's preachings. One in particular. I assume the wording is accurate.
"The strong man is not the one with physical prowess, but the one who controls oneself when angry."
It seems the behaviour we have seen since publication is not in the least representative of the Prophet's ideas.

Religion has probably caused more violence than good in this world. So therefore I don't follow it, and 99.9% of the people that act like they are religious do not follow what their religion demands of them. I think if anything, religion should only be here to preserve our traditions, not to cause wars and wars over religion have become a tradition it seems like, so you can flush it all down the drain.

Agreed. Religion causes way more headache then peace. All it does is make people hate eachother and brings out differences rather then similarities. In the end people anywhere in the world are the same.

I do not agree.
Also, is the soccer fans network or muslim fans network. Every second thread on here is about the prophet muhammad or muslims.

Have you ever lived outside of the UK? Anyway, I don't think you're getting what I'm saying so we'll leave it at that.

This particular forum is for subjects other than football. There is a forum for other sports, so clearly this is a forum for anything but sport. Given that the publication of these cartoons and the response has been dominating world news for a couple of weeks, what's the big deal with that being represented here?
So long as people are discussing things, what's wrong?

Re: Why are some Muslims disobeying the Prophet?
Just to bring some humour to the situation:
A few years ago I was at Buckingham Palace to receive an award and, as is normal for this kind of thing my little group was going on to a special lunch at the Savoy Hotel. Before the investiture, I was chatting to a Muslim and I asked him if he was going anywhere special for lunch. You can probably see what's coming. With a smile he told me that it was Ramadan so he wouldn't be eating. I felt such a fool. But we laughed about it.

Re: Why are some Muslims disobeying the Prophet?
everyday more and more people are turning atheist and i f'n hate it... i hate how muslims can be so hypocrticical about war and peace... and i bet you those rioting muslims are going to burn down a danish embassy and accidentally burn down a muslim flag or 2 and then blame it on the christians and riot some more it is truly imo the worst religion ever!

Re: Why are some Muslims disobeying the Prophet?
"disobeying the prophet"? "SOME"?
lol... The quran says that muslims are supposed to kill whoever isn't muslim and many other "rules" that they should follow.
So I don't think "some" is a question here.

Re: Why are some Muslims disobeying the Prophet?
I'll take an atheist over any muslim, christian, jew, etc etc. Atheists never started any wars over "religious" ideals.
