Default RealMadrid NewSeason Lineup?

My prefered formation with the current players we have is this for the new season. Pablo Garcia is a defensive midfielder along Graveson which will make our midfield very solid, especially with Zidane and Beckhams attacking power, this will probably be one of the strongest midfield formations in European club football. Ronaldo and Owen 2 of the best goalscorers on earth, alongside a very strong defense with a new talented defender, Carlos Diogo. Carlos Diogo is very talented and strong minded young guy, Salgado as we all know is a good defender, Helguera will hold the middle and Roberto Carlo's defensive + attacking strenght is a big boost. Casillas, arguably the best goalkeepr in the world right now alongside Buffon, what more can we ask for?

--------------------Ronaldo------------Owen-----------------

---------Zidane------PabloGarcia----Graveson-----Beckham----

----RobertoCarlos----CarlosDiogo----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

This is truly a formation that will become a big threat to every club in Europe.

Lux and Sacchi have definately created a secret weapon, all that remains is to pull the trigger.

When I made this line up it made me look at it in a very interesting way, let me share it with you guys with colours:

RED = more of a defensive player
GREEN = more of a offensive player
(Roberto Carlos is more of a offensive player but he is still one of the best defenders in the world which makes it even better.)

--------------------Ronaldo------------Owen-----------------

--------Zidane------PabloGarcia----Graveson-----Beckham----

----RobertoCarlos----CarlosDiogo----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

The amazing thing is, that you can see the balance of the whole lineup, you can see Beckham's butt being covered by Salgado leaving Beckham with alotmore offensive freedom. You can see that the middle of the line up is built of defensive players although they are very talented at much offensive attacks. You can see that the left side where Zidane and Roberto Carlos are is probably the best side because not only is there so much control from Zidane, but Carlos has his back defensively and offensively at the same time. Up front Ronaldo and Owen is IMO a very powerfull goalscoring duo which cannot be argued with. And all this is keeping alot of pressure off Casillas from having to do so much lifesaving in the beginning of last season, and now we can rest easy to know that not only is our defense one of the strongest but if "somehow" the ball gets through, Casillas is there to save us, the difference being much fewer times.

If anyone can come up with a better line up that I think will be the ebst next season please share it I'm interested to see.

dahhh i would say this is what lux wiould do

---------------Ronaldo------------Owen-----
-------------------------Raul-----------------
---------Zidane------------------------Beckham----
------------------------Graveson---------------------
RobertoCarlos---Helguera---CarlosDiogo---Salgado---

----------------------Casillas--------------------------

Diogo = woodgate,
Salgado= Mejia
Zindane= Robinho
Ronaldo= Robinho
Portillo= Owen
Raul= Guti= Zindane(if zindane and robinho is starting)
Graveson = PabloGarcia

that is probably the most varation to the starting line up there would be

but for games this
-----Ronaldo---------Owen-------
--------------Raul-------------

is assured

yea its gonna be with three fws i rather have a differnt formation but three fws is gonna be wat lux chooses maybe a 4-3-1-2 but thats basicaly the same as 4-1-2-1-2
the thing with robinho imo is he can play for owen raul zidane or beckham in that formation. in the confederations cup he played on the rfw position of the 4-3-3 and i think hes right footed to so hes very versatile

Guys, my formation will be the most effective to start with, you guys might think having 3 forwards is a good idea but with Raul, Ronaldo and Owen that's just like saying there are only 7 players willing to defend with the goalkeeper.

And I can't stop stressing this, RAUL does not play well behind strikers, RAUL is a striker that loves to be in front, if he plays back it might not be a bad idea but there are better players IMO that can play his position, for now I think it's best if Owen and Raul subbed eachother.

--------------------Ronaldo------------Owen-----------------

---------Zidane------PabloGarcia----Graveson-----Beckham----

----RobertoCarlos----CarlosDiogo----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

I don't want to explain this formation again since it's at the top, but I still havn't seen a formation from you guys that looks anywhere near as effective as this one. The midfield was what Real Madrid was lacking in depth last season and that is why players like Pablo Garcia and Graveson were bought to be set as a defensive and solid wall that would take alot of pressure off both the defenders and strikers. Beckham IMO should have been replaced by a player like Joaquin a long time ago, but that isn't the case for now so we will have to cover his back with Salgado just like last season since they both are talented right side players.

Okay to make it more felxible for you guys to show a formation I've thought about it and came up with 2 formations, 1 that is defensive and IMO the best formation for next season, and the second is offensive where I think it depends on the team that we are playing to put this up.

DEFENSIVE LINEUP (In my opinion the best starting lineup for next season)

--------------------Ronaldo------------Owen-----------------

---------Zidane------PabloGarcia----Graveson-----Beckham----

----RobertoCarlos----CarlosDiogo----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

OFFENSIVE LINEUP (In my opinion not a solid formation but good against particular teams)

----------------------Raul------------Owen------------------

----------------------------Ronaldo---------------------------

------------Zidane--------Graveson-------Beckham----------

----RobertoCarlos----CarlosDiogo----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

Notice that mine is different in that of Lance's formation because Raul is upfront where he is best at, and Ronaldo playing behind both Raul abd Owen creating a difficult triangle for opposing defenders wondering either to cover Raul or Owen when Ronaldo is getting ready to assist or to go and get ready for Ronaldo's dangerous runs at net. Also notice that Lance put Graveson closer to the defenders in his formation, where I put him closer behind Ronaldo to give Ronaldo more options and to cover his butt. Beckham obviously with his dangerous crosses will supply the strikers and Zidane will control the midfield on the left hand side with help from Roberto Carlos.

Anyways, I'd like to see other people's ideas because these players are very flexible to try and make formations with, although I am yet to see a more effective one than mine.

I thought Diogo is more of a SB? I always thought woody would start alongside Helguera in central defence.

RaulMadrid... Any formation without Raul is not gonna happen.
Diogo is a right back or left back or left mid, not a center back. He's too attacking for that. Samuel, Helguera, and Woodgate are our best options currently.

Raul isn't a striker, he's a forward. He tracks back, Ronaldo sits upfront and picks off shots. Pretty much the same with Owen. '

Anyways-

-----------Ronaldo------Owen------------
-------------------Raul-------------------
-----------------------------------------
---Zizou--------------------------Becks---
-----------------Gravesen-----------------
-Carlos---------------------------Salgado-
------------Samuel-----Helguera----------
------------------Casillas------------------

Salgado -> Diogo
Gravesen -> Pablo
Helguera -> Mejia
Raul -> Guti

Or-
----------------Raul-----Ronaldo----------------
------------------------------------------------
------------Zizou-----------------------Becks--
------------------------------Pablo-------------
-------------------Gravesen---------------------
--Carlos----------------------------------Salgado-
---------------Samuel----Helguera----------------
---------------------Casillas---------------------

We could do the Del Bosque line-up. Samuel, Helguera, and Gravesenwould stay back. Pablo woud participate in the attack a little, but defend more than anything. Becks and Zizou attacking with Raul and Ronaldo. Carlos can take the left side on his own, we've all seen it enough. Zizou is more center concentrated. Becks on the right wing area. Salgado is an attacker. Don't joke yourselves about that.

Anyways... can't say what the new formation will be when we haven't finished signing players...

raulmadrid where i disagree the most is that no way in hel should be ever play with 2 defnsive mids again, that is what lacked the whole offensive movements of the gmae, the 2003-2004 season,

also raul looks after the team interest rather than being lazy and sticking up front like ronaldo, there has been many instances in which raul back tracked and brought th ball straight up to the forwards, and now ronnie would have owen as a striking partner as raul can roam now and do his defensive work and be the playmaker also,

and owen can put in some descent enough crosses on the right there, he and beckhma on the right is a pretty descent thing going on there

also it is sure that robinho wouldnt start right away, lux said he would want to give him more chance to adjust before throughing him out there to the sharks, lol so he wouldnt be in the formation at all for the first quarter to half of the season

FIRST LINEUP
--------------------Ronaldo------------Owen------------------

-------------------------------Raul----------------------------

-----------Zidane------------Graveson-----------Beckham------

----RobertoCarlos----Woodgate------Helguera---------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

Salgado -> Diogo
Gravesen -> Pablo
Helguera -> Mejia
Raul -> Guti
(Penguin you took the sub lineup right out of my head)

SECOND LINEUP (This lineup is for when Robinho comes)

----------------------Ronaldo------------Owen------------------

----------------------------Robinho---------------------------

-------------Zidane--------Graveson-------Beckham----------

----RobertoCarlos----Woodgate----Helguera------Salgado---

------------------------------Casillas-------------------------------

Salgado -> Diogo
Gravesen -> Pablo
Helguera -> Mejia
Robinho -> Raul/Guti

To be honest with you, Real Madrid did a big mistake letting go of Samuel, because I am just hoping they find a replacement for Samuel because Woodgate doesn't seem to me like he can do his position well enough. But let's see how it goes soon in the season.

Real Madrid really has some players that they need to replace IMO to create a very solid team. Here is my opinion on that:

1.)Replace Beckham with another winger, we should have replaced him with Joaquin along time ago, giving that Joaquin himself wanted to come here, I respect Beckham but he just doesn't contribute enough to keep the midfield stable.

2.)Replace Woodgate with a talented central defender since Samuel left, and no not Diogo because as Penguin said, Diogo is too much of an attacker to be central.

Other than those changes Robinho should come soon and help with the position of being the playmaker behind Ronaldo, Raul or Owen.

yea i respect Raul so much and he was my 2nd fav player before Ronaldo came to Real, he was a briliant striker....but ever since Ronaldo joined Madrid, he's kinda just laid back and let Ronaldo do the job of scoring.. I want him to be aggressive next year and forget about Ronaldo, he should look after himself, i know he stil have it in him.....and i dont like him playing the supporting striker role, it dosent fit him period. And dont ask why? i know Raul very well, his weaknesses and strength...

And you are right There is No Real Madrid without Raul.....he's their soul, but he should also improve his play and complain about his positon on the field in order for this team to start winning trophies again...

This is coming from a Ronaldo Fan!
