Preben Elkjær Larsen is one of the top Danish legends. He was known as a notorious smoker — to much dismay for his varying coaches. His playing style, though, was not short of breath, and was dominated by a rock-like determination. He never seemed to give up on a lost ball — from time to time resulting in a goal, when the opponent had deemed the ball over the line and out of play, only to see Elkjær chase it down. He is one of the few players who combined a tank-like physique with great dribbling abilities. Going on his own was one of his trademarks, sometimes to the frustration of his team mates, though more often to their joy, as he would often win a game all on his own. His aggression was matched by few and whenever he would receive the ball with his back to the goal he would immediately turn with the ball and attempt to head for goal. His shear will and determination mixed with his marvellous abilities made him a true inspiration for his team mates and a fan-favorite wherever he would play. His best highlight of the club career was scoring until Hellas Verona won their victory only Italian Series A title.

He processed great ball control and dribbling skills combined with a powerful physique and could hold off most defenders, and prolific scoring ability. Ronaldo is the youngest player ever to win Ballon d’Or, as he was a world-class player since his 20 year olds. He was famosus for his scoring a large number of goals by only his abilities as the one-man-show. On the other hand, The repeated big injury led him out of the game for two years. Even he could came back to be a world-class player again particularly in World Cup 2002 that he scored 12 goals, He never reached his prime that he could perform any longer. He also never win UEFA Champion League after his transferring to Real Madrid was after their three time UEFA Champion League Winners. In his lately career, He began being unprofessional behavior, allowed himself to be overweight, his speed gradually slow, and not be the remainder of the great footballer anymore.

2000 World Football's Greatest Goalscorer of All Time

“Der Bomber” Gerd Muller is the greatest goalscorer in history of the game. He was the predominant center forward of the early 1970s. Deceptively quick and able to shoot with little waste motion. Muller was a nightmare for opposing goalkeepers, was the forerunner, whom given the slightest chance, could often find a way to put the ball in the goal that cluded other strikers’ abilities. He was short, squat, awkward-looking and not notably fast; he never fit the conventional idea of a great footballer, but he had lethal acceleration over short distances, a remarkable aerial game, and uncanny goalscoring instincts. His short legs gave him a strangely low center of gravity, so he could turn quickly and with perfect balance in spaces and at speeds that would cause other players to fall over. He also had a knack of scoring in unlikely situations." There are seven seasons Muller could score more than 1.00 goal per game in average. Muller was rated by kicker just 4.5 world-class seasons and 5.5 international-class seasons. That is argued that due to his too easy making score style of play not a wonderful scorer. He was also voted 5th the best player in history of World Cup by France Football.

I find it hard to believe that Oleg Blokhin is not on this list. Belanov is also a worthy mention.

Some other choices are also very questionable. For example Vieri is way too high up I think. I mean Totti and Del Pierro were better than him and still are and they aren't really true srikers.

Blokhin is already included in Forward thread.

Vieri is a lot better than Totti for Italy and Vieri was very top player in 2 WCs.

Vieri might be inferior to Totti in club level but the gap is not as high as national level.

Oh my bad I didn't see the forwards section. Vieri might have scored more for Italy , but then again Totti proved to be the better one in 06 when they won. I still think if Totti wouldn't play in WC06, Italy would not win.

However if you think about it from the pure striker point of view then I guess Vieri can be considered a better striker than Totti, however I still think Vieri is too high on that list overall.

Agreed with regards to DP and Totti, still scoring very key goals showing their longevity is greater than Ronaldo`s, as one criteria. But the biggest mistake is not having Baggio in that list. Probably one of the best players I have ever seen play, and he was not a midfielder, so he should be on this list.

Yeah, but he is on the forwards list. This is a pure striker list.

There's a lot of subjectivity in that post, and the part I don't agree with (or the one I'm most pissed off about) is the one about the greatest forwards of the late 2000s. You just can't put Torres and Messi in there, they're not nearly the greatest, they're just youngsters with potential. This does not make them the greatest.
