Just because Italy has for the last two years produced some dire efforts with the club teams in this competiton does not mean that the Serie A is bad and that Spanish League or English League is better. I mean that is a very non-sensesical comparison. It all goes in web and flows and i think that in any given time any big club in italy can beat any club in Spain and vice versa. I mean remember Ajax or Bayern Munich and the great run they had in European competiton?, Well nobody will say that the German League or Dutch league was the best in the world at the moment. Spains league is great, and so is italy's and the English is not bad, but comparisons are hard to make and stupid, just like FIFA's rating system for national teams is. Boca Juniors won the world club cup in Tokyo earlier this year is that to say that the Argentine clasura is the best league in the world then? So give it up people and just enjoy the football.

Yes! it is impossible to say that Italian soccer is bad because they didn't survive to the Cl finals and Uefa finals and so on. The one reason is that, at least among Italian players, that they don't respet CL championchip as much as SCUDETTO. For some italian players that is the Number 2 price in the world (the World cup is the 1)
and they want to reach that price before the scudetto. In this sense it is weird that Lazio has dropped already, because they reached the title last year and it would have been more likely to see them to battle more of Cl championchip than scudetto, but we must remember that Lazio played very badly before christmas before Sven left the team and in that time there were most important matches to play and they lost those games. Spain has proved to be very good country playing football, but there is one thing that I don't understand among spain. If they are so good in European football, why they have not reached any prices in National competitions? F.e Euro or world cup competitions?
England has always been lousy in football, they just think and believe that they are good in it but the truth is that they know as much from football as man from Kongo knows how to play ice hockey . The truth is that in Europe the Italian football is still the number one! look at the Euro 2000. The Italian team was the best team in the competition, unfortunately they didn't have as much luck as did Frenchman had. So I believe in Italian football still although they didn't survive in the finals in the CL

What are you smoking?!? Besides a great run from Leeds in the Champs League and the perenial power of Manure United, what does the English league have over the Italian? Come on buddy, get real!! Batistuta, Lopez, Crespo, Sallas, Inzaghi, Totti and many more would just literaly kill many of the defences in England. I mean look how far ahead Manure is from anybody, you call that a great competitive league? Fact is that in the Serie A, they play their asses off and when in one or two years the teams dont do so well everybody gets thier panties in a knot. Lazio, Inter, Milan, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, these are all teams of high quality, I challange you to name me more than four in England, and if you include the ultra crappy Arsenholes I will have lost all respect for you. Now to put germany fourth is also funny, aside from probably three teams, the German league is dire. The French league is very dissapointing and I think that perhaps the Greek or Turkish clubs play more attractive then the french clubs do, aside from perhaps the great Monaco.

i thought the purpose of this topic was to say that you can't compare any of the top leagues is europe. i don't think their is much dispute that the top leagues are in spain, italy, and england and everyone is going to have thier favorite based on what kind of football you like to watch and where you are from. obviously a italian is not going to say the italian league is crap. obviously i would say the english league is the best because i am english. but it is a waste of time sitting hear and argueing about it.

In my opinion, they are all mercnaries. You have all those players in that league but Italy has underperformed in the CL for a few years now. Ok Juve reached the final a couple of years ago, but who else has done well.

Here in England, players have more loyalty to their club. They know that its not always the case that playing great football wins matches. Some games are just pure blood, sweat and tears.

I personnaly prefer watching the English league as it is faster and more exciting and less tactical, without players diving every 3-4 seconds.

i watched 3 epl matches, 2 serie a matches n' 1 la liga match in a week n' i could say that every league has its own power n' we can't compare the three league by just how they're doing in cl. i think if u compare by every club in each league, serie a's clubs r better as they're closer to one n' other while the epl just dominated by a club

I watch Seria A and Spanish league all the time and the Spanish leagie is stonger!!! If there were only small differences at euro-games than would be hard to say, but now when there are NO MORE ITALYAN CLUBS in CL or UEFA cup!!!! That got to say somethink about strongness of the league, don`t u think?!

If u just judge by name of the players that are playing in leagues than Italian league should be stronger(or the strogest) but they just can play! Just look Inter for example. They`ve got a dream team but still they suck! Why? That is another story!
