it's actually spelled salomon kalou. a lot of people in holland think kalou is great and will be a valuable asset to the dutch national team, including the coach marco van basten.
however, there are also many people against giving kalou a fastened naturalisation(he currently doesn't have a dutch passport which makes him non-elegible to play for holland) as he barely speak fluent and understandable dutch. despite having lived in holland for nearly 3 years.
it's also rumoured that kalou wants a dutch(read: eu) passport the most not coz he can play for holland but so he can go and play in england, spain or italy. it's believed that playing for feyenoord doesn't inspire him too much anymore and he's desperately feels like a new challenge. as well as earning a lot more money. but that's also nothing more than a rumour, of course.
but as a player, kalou is probably the best and most talked about player on the dutch fields since robben played for psv. kalou can be a little bit too egoistic which is about his only weakness, but i'd say he's definitely a star in the making. i think he has what it takes to succeed at a big european team also.
