Default Ono to follow H. Nakata`s footsteps in Premiership move?

Ono, who is expected back in Holland at the end of August after recuperating from an operation on his right metatarsal, joined Feyenoord in 2001. The 2002 Asian Player of the Year has since enjoyed a superb career with the De Kuip Stadium outfit but now clearly feels the time for a move is right.

“Shinji is looking to leave Feyenoord as he wants a new challenge,” Chiel Dekker told Sky Sports.

“He has been there for four years and he would like to move on. There is interest from clubs in England and Spain and he impressed many people when he played for Japan against England last summer.”

“We are waiting to see if anything happens before the close of the transfer window,” added Dekker.

News of Ono’s reluctance to stay with the 2002 UEFA Cup winners will come as a huge blow to Feyenoord boss Erwin Koeman.

In the days leading up to the new Eredivisie season, Koeman had announced that the 25-year-old was still a key figure in his plans despite the Japan midfielder’s recent broken foot horror.

Since joining Feyenoord from Urawa Red Diamonds in 2001, Ono has played over 100 games for the Dutch giants and scored a creditable 19 goals.
Ono would do a hell of alot better than Nakat IMO but if he does move it could be a decent blow for Feyenoord

    Update:

There is a rumour going around on Japanese websites that Shinji Ono will follow in the footsteps of fellow Asian Lee Young-pyo in a move to the hotspurs. I dont know how reliable this is though, I will try and find this in english

Ono would do well if he came to England he has bags of skill and pace.I saw his first few games at Feyenoord and he was really impressive, don't know what he's been like in recent seasons though.

even thoughs hes had injury problems, hes been starting lineup since he arrived. But this is the premier some coaches may not have the patience for injured ppl.

I hope Lee and Ono joins the hurtspurs, although i would feel bad for PSV because than both Koreans will leave T_T. I hope PSV will be awarded with Park JuYoung in the future.
