Well we have Trezeguet whos excellent, Zlatan is growing more and more with each game, and dont forget Del Piero. Zalayeta has done pretty well even though hes a pretty crap player. I think Juve will only be in the market for a striker in 2 seasons or so time, when Del Piero is too old and can no longer work his magic.

The month of January could see Nicola Legrottaglie, Igor Tudor and Mark Iuliano all leave Juventus.

The Italian giants are expected to reduce their squad and a number of defenders will be shown the door.

Juve currently have seven central defenders on their books – too many when you consider that Fabio Cannavaro and Lilian Thuram virtually start every game.

Legrottaglie’s future could be in the capital with Roma a possible destination for the stopper.

Giallorossi boss Gigi Del Neri is a big fan of the Italian after their time together at Chievo Verona.

The Bianconeri could offer the player in return for an option on Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

Croatian international Tudor is a known target for Standard Liege but he doesn’t seem keen on a move to Belgium.

Recent whispers now suggest that Fiorentina could be interested in the versatile individual.

One player with a host of options seems to be Iuliano. The former Azzurri player has been associated with Celtic but would prefer to stay in Italy.

That could open the door for Bologna, Sampdoria and Siena to make a New Year approach for the former Salernitana ace.

All players leaving are defensive players....I guess Juve has too many of them, but do they have plenty replacements?? Because you can't expect Canna or Thuram to play all season, injuries happen.....

I know, Canna and Thuram are both over 30 so within 2 years theyll be past it and much more injury prone. Tudor deserves a lot more of a chance, Juve have been totally unfair to him, he was one of the best Juve players under Ancelotti, but now hes lucky if he gets to sit his ass on the bench. He needs to move to a different club ASAP.

Yeh he's a good player, but there's Emerson, and he's the definite starter DM, and Juve has too many centre backs, so I guess he doesn't have a spot there, also defensive positions are different from offensive ones, in the formers the rotation of players is not as common as in the latter.

The last thing we need is more defenders........

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Newcastle full back Olivier Bernard is being linked with a January transfer to Italian titans Juventus.

Bernard has been a consistent figure for The Magpies, but he would appear to be on his way out of St James' Park as talks over a new deal have failed to bear fruit.

The defender has suggested he would happily stay with Newcastle, provided they match his contract demands.

The two sides have failed to reach a suitable agreement and it is being suggested that Newcastle have resigned themselves to losing the French full back in January.

With Newcastle bringing in a left back for January in the form of Celestine Babayaro, it could be that manager Graeme Souness feels he can allow Bernard to move on from Tyneside.

Bernard's displays have caught the eye of a clutch of teams, with his rampaging style down the left flank attracting some of Europe's big hitters.

There are few bigger clubs in Europe than Juventus and it is being claimed that coach Fabio Capello has set his sights on luring Bernard to Turin.

Juventus are leading the way in Serie A and are through to the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Capello is said to be happy with most areas of his squad, while it has been claimed there will be no new arrivals in January, but one area of concern is at left back.

Gianluca Zambrotta has been turning out at left back and although the Italian international has performed with great credit, he is not a natural full back.

It could well be that Capello has earmarked a left back for January and rumours are suggesting Bernard is his favoured option.

French television reports have claimed Bernard is ready to make the move to the Old Lady when the transfer window opens in January and have even suggested a deal is close to being finalised.

Shabani Nonda's agent has admitted having contact with Juventus and Rangers.

The Monaco striker seems unlikely to leave the Principality in the transfer window as he will instead wait until his contract expires in June.

"There are 99.9 percent of chances that Shabani will end the season with Monaco," John Dario told L'Equipe.

"He is much better on a physical level and wants to play in the Champions League.

"There is an interest from Juventus, it is true, but he has not signed anything yet.

"I also have a meeting with them [Rangers officials] later in January."

Monaco had been believed to be looking to raise funds to bid for Fernando Morientes by off-loading their African attacker in the New Year.

Due to this thread being created, the calciomercato thread, which is very similar to this one, is moribund. This problem needs to be addressed.
