102 goals in 133 matches. Pretty impressive.
Ali Daei scored 4 goals recently to achieve unassailable World Record total of 102 goals , so I do not think he will retire just yet. He still has some energy left in him to play for at least a year.
His replacement is surely the 26 year old Bayern striker, Vahid Hashemian.
Hashemian has 7 goals so far in 16 matches.

Ok I think I misread your question. I think your main question is that is Ali Daei replacable.
Ali Daei performed very well against Laos on Nov. 17. 10 out of 10 without question , 4 golden goals, 3 fantastic headers , scoring a perfect 4 out of 4 opportunities , sending some brilliant assists which not appreciated by his teammates , breaking a record that I guarantee you will not be achieved by any player in this generation…..This makes me a little worried.
Why…because when Daei leaves , he will leave a HUGE gap in the national team. That is worrying. Unless we have better quality young forwards or prospects , then this could turn into a crises comes World Cup 2006.
What have we observed thus far? A veteran, who many people want him out of the team, scoring 4 goals, and the combination of our forward line of young talents of the team Borhani , Khatibi, Kazemian and Karimi scoring one goal out of 7 !!!
Arash Borhani(young striker) has exploded into the scene a couple of years ago and I was swearing by him as a perfect replacement for Daei. But in reality he is in reverse mode. He was one of the least impressive players in Asian Cup. Spoils far too many chances, his ratio of scoring against chances created is abysmal , does not really know when to pass and when to shoot near the goal , has been caught off-side so many times during this game that bordered a street amateur style of play and between him and Khatibi(another amateur striker) , they must be in the Guinness world record for being caught offside when playing!!!
Talking of Kahtibi , what on earth has gone into the minds of the usually sane Branko(Iran coach) to call up a wasted player such as Khatibi !!!!! He was never a proper football player , and will never be, let alone a national team quality. He is a perfect Futsall player, but to call him into the team after so many previous failures, is just beyond my simple comprehension of football…Is it yet another political move ??? I really don’t want to know!!!
Karimi….Oh…Karimi…..What can we say about him. Another disappointing performance by the wizard. At peak of his career and a mature age of 26 , I would have thought that by now , he is well aware when to dribble , when to pass and when to shoot.
Do you want to bet on that ??? or was he saving his energy for the next day’s match in Dubai?? In which case why did he bother turning up?
That leaves Hashemian as the only real hope for Daei replacement….I just hope Vahid gets more playing time in the Bundesliga for him to produce the goods , otherwise if we have to depend on Borhani , Khatibi , Enayati , Samereh and even Karimi as a forward , we will be in Dire Straits …..
Hope that answers your question.

Karimi dribbles alot I agree! He never passes at all. Mahdavakia is great player but a little short in terms of hight and he is fine OMF and a good replacement for Bagheri. I think Hashemian is probably the best replacement for Daei. However we need new defenders Peligrani was prolly one of the best defenders we have had in a long time. However our team is definatitly not as strong as it use to be. Losing Daei is like losing Beckham for england and we need a star to emerge!

Karim Bagheri is not in the national team. After an injury he has not been himself. He is 30 years old and if we see a good performance from his this season in the league then we might see him in the national team. Vahid Hashemian is indeed the best replacement for Ali Daei. We do have some good defenders, one by the name of Rahman Rezai who plays in Serie A for the club Messina(Sicilly). Another good defender is Nosrati. We have another one who is getting old that needs to be replaced - Golmohammadi. And Hossein Kaebi (18 years old) can play defense while playing offense just like Roberto Carlos.Originally Posted by AstonVillaFan 2
Overall we are short of defenders. We might need another striker just in case. Our best players are our midfielders. We have Nikbakht, Mahdavikia(Hamburg), Mobali, Navidkia(Bochum), Neukonam, and Fereydon Zandi(Kaiserlautern).

I thought Saudi players were not allowed to play outside of Saudi Arabia.

they are iranian players. i know bagehri is no longer on the national team i thought he was retiring? I have question what club teams has he played for? Anyway are midfield is superb and we have decent offense we just need a good goalie and 1 more good defender... and possibly dmf... I have 1 more question how come most of these Iranian players play for German Clubs?

I guess after his knee surgery Bagheri could never find his old form again.
Karim Bagheri has played for Armenia Biefeld and now he is playing in Persepolis(Tehran).
Yes, we do need one more good defender. Our goalie, Mirzapour, is not so bad. He is playing in the best club in Iran right now - Foolad. Ibrahim Mirzapour can be inconsistent but lately he has shown a good performance. However, he does need to practice on his timing. On corners he seems to make mistakes by coming out and conceding goals that way.
You ask why do majority of Iranians who play in Europe play in the bundesliga. Well, I think it all started with Ali Daei. He kind of set the footsteps for the others to come. When Ali Daei went to play for Bayern Munchen, Franz Beckenbauer was really interested in other Iranians. So he built a relationship with the Iranian football federation. Currently we have 4 players who play in the Bundesliga. Throughout history we have had twice that number.

The Bundesliga is full of foreign players, and that is why it is becoming more difficult for homeland players to be brought up into bigger players.

Our national team is not up to form at all I remember when we did have 6 players in the brundesliga one in the EPL, and one sieries A i think and how when that team played the Asian cup no other Asian Team even scored on them... We had the most valuable player and the man who scored the most can anyone remeber what year this was? I am not sure about the scoring part but i remember watching old videos late 70s early 80s possibly... We right now are not as strong as we use to be but still stronger than any Asian team i believe.

2004 we managed to finish third behind Japan and China. We should of booked a place in the finals but due to poor referee calling we were robbed by the Asian Football Federation.
One of our best players of the 1970's was Ali Parvin who now coaches Persepolis. Ali Parvin scored 12 goals in 81 matches.
Parviz Qleechkhani , Hassan Rowshan , and Hussain Kalani were also good players of their time.
But no player is as valuable as Ali Daei himself.
These are the clubs Daei has played for ;
Saba Battri (IRAN)
Al Shabab (UAE)
Hertha Berlin (GER)
Bayern Munich (GER)
Arminia Bielefeld (GER)
Al Saad (QAT)
Persepolis (IRAN)
Taxirani (IRAN)

Ali Daei is the ultimate scoring machine... Even though he is old he can still do damage 2 top teams like AS Roma... sad to see him go.
