Default Most Clinical Striker of Euro 2004

    Ok,
So im eating a ham sandwich and watching the games i missed over the weekend cause i was the beach watching babes which in some aspects i regret cause all my friends texted me and told me the scores.

but i want to know who you'll think is the most clinical striker of this tourney?

I know who isnt lol but ill let ull decide.

RVN -- Talk about missing opportunities, tsk tsk tsk.

Henrik Larsen -- Out so cant be

    Milan Baros --- Hmmmm

Wayne Rooney --- Crossbar, back of goalkeepers head --- GOOAAAALL -- im starting to get flashbacks of Pele and i cant stand that guy so no

any other thoughts? a Jon Dahl? etc

    Cheers
    Mel

THE BEST STRIKER SO FAR HAS BEEN MILAN BAROS. FIVE GOALS IN 4 MATCHES. HE HAS BEEN THE MOST CONSISTENT GOAL SCORER OF THE TOURNAMENT AND HE PROBABLY HAS A COUPLE MORE LEFT IN HIM. UNFORTUNATELY HE HAS NOT SHOWN THE SAME SIGNS OF BRILLIANCE WITH HIS CLUB LIVERPOOL. I THINK HIS PERFORMANCE IN EURO 04 WILL EARN HIM SOME MORE PLAYING TIME WHEN HE GOES BACK TO ENGLAND.

I agree completely with haroldino13. He has been fantastic so far, and obviously on track for the golden boot! Apparently Baros blames his irratic Liverpool form on the old manager Houllier, who 'knocked the confidence out of him'.

I only hope that Milan Baros takes this 'strike confidence' and goes back to Anfield and shows the rest of the Prem what his true hidden potential has been all along.

Good luck to you Mr. Baros.

I would have to go with Wayne Rooney and not Milan Baros. Baros has scored more goals, but they were all quite simple. Everytime Rooney got the ball he looked like he was going to score, and he did most of the time. This tournament though has been a dissapointment for most of the star strikers. Henry, Vieri, Owen, Trezeguet, Raul etc. all of these guys had poor tournaments by their high standards.

I say Baros over Rooney... Rooney scored four goals... two of them against Switzerland and two against Croatia... scoring all your goals in sqwash matches hardly makes a guy the best striker of the tournament.. plus he scored one off-side... But for Striker #2 of the tournament no one can compare to Rooney...

Ruud van Nistelrooy IMHO is over-rated... after the first game vs. germany when he scored that nice goal... I thought "you know maybe people are right about him being one of the best" and then when I saw him score two goals OFF-SIDE and a penalty kick later in the tourny in addition to letting frustrations get the best of him in the game versus Portugal, I realized that my inital analysis of him was correct... Ruud is a cheater... He's a cherry picker who scores off-side all the time and gets away with it just like in the EPL, he's a ball hog and he throws a fit whenever he doesn't get his way. I just can't stand the guy... I just hope this guy burns out like Beckham one day... I seriously dislike him with a passion.

So Rooney is #2 striker by default... though its not like Rooney sucks... Getting three perfectly legal goals in 2 games is still a great feat even if it was against small teams like Switzerland and Croatia... but I think Milan Baros did a better job considering he scored 2 versus Denmark, 1 versus Germany and I versus Holland I believe. The one versus Latvia sort of counts too as significant I think since Czech Republic was trailing and needed a come back.

Milan Baros without a shadow of a doubt has been the best striker in the tournament and has shown that by scoring key goals in his matches to bring the Czech's as far as they did.

I agree with adrianofan that RVN is overrated. He can only score tap-ins IMO, he is not a great striker.

    V. Nistlerooy isn't that overrated come on ya some people say he's good and ya it's true he is good because he does put goals in but he isn't considered a top striker by any means.
