Lotito: We have signed Dellas

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has revealed that Traianos Dellas will be joining the club after leaving city rivals Roma.

The Greek defender will remain at Stadio Olimpico but swap Roma for Lazio as he is due to join Delio Rossi's side.

IMO he is a good acquisition, he has experience and he is a very solid defender, defense is surely not a problem but what would be the consequences of signing Dellas giving the fact that he came from Rioma. How would the fans react? And for sure this would only decrease Lotito's popularity with the fans.

I don't mind that he's coming from roma. If anyone should mind it's the romanisti. I mean Dellas wanted to switch to the 1st team of Rome, can't blame him for that. Welcome to Lazio!

Yes, this is a great acquisition. He is a really good player and I am amazed that he wasn't given more of a chance to shine for the Giallorossi. I expect him to do really well for you guys.

Him deciding to join Lazio is an honour despite us being in a worse financial state as well as competitive state than Rioma. This guy must really love Rome a lot. At Rioma, he was the most solid defender after Samuel but he did not have any chances to show for them. However when he was called, he never failed to perform at the highest levels.

Lazio fans should be delighted, Dellas would probably be the last player you would accuse of trading rivals, he is a world class defender but IMO he isn't in his best form and that's why Roma let him go.

This is for sure bad news, Dellas would have 2 choices now, 1 is money and the other is regular first team football as it is pretty clear that he won't have any place in Milan as they already have Kaladze, Jankulovski, Cafu, Nesta, Stam and Maldini. I hope he chooses Lazio too as we need an experienced defender to bring us through the season

Damn I hate Milan... I think he would be stupid to go there though. And even more stupid to choose Lazio unfortunately...
