Pele won the WC with a great team and everything else because he had great players around him. I'm not saying he wasn't good because that would be lying, I'm just saying he's not as you say he is. Yes he scored over a thousand goals but that was in the USA, a league full of nobodies (no offence guys).
Maradona won the WC on his own, with some good players but most of that work was his own! He went to Napoli and won the Scudetto, again on his own! Maradona is the greatest and you'll find most people agree.

I think it more like emphasized the fact that he was a great dribbler. But i still think that Pele is better.... why do you think that they say that michael jordan is the best basketball player? because he won 6 straight championships under the bulls. Just like pele won most of the world cups for brazil.

Actually that comparison is off. Pele could be more compared to Bill Russell who won 11 nba titles in 14 seasons with the celtics. his stats kill Jordan in quite a few categories and alot of the old timers say he was the best. But Jordan (having less titles) came in a time where the game had become quicker and more strategic (as maradona did) and was able to be the greatest in a modern area showing his amazing talent. Some say TV has made Jordan the greatest (same complaint about pele vs maradona). So yes Jordan is the best. He is the Maradona of basketball. :D

Pele might have scored 1200 goals, but those goals were scored in the Brazilian league of the 50's and 60's which had shitty defenders and Pele has even said that a large number of those 1200 goals are from his junior days before he played professionally. Maradona was averaging almost a goal per game in the Argentinian league before he came to Europe, if he had stayed in Argentina he probably would've scored 1000 goals as well. Diego has scored some of the most amazing goals I have ever seen, he once scored a goal from the kick off in a match (Pele couldn't score from the half way line) , and in a game for napoli he was lying on his back and kicked the ball in the air and then over his head into the net whilst remaining on his back and being challenged by a defender. Quite simply Maradona was a one man team, he took a rubbish south Italian team to the very top of Serie A while facing stiff competition from the great Milan side of the late 80's with Gullit, Van Basten and Rijkaard and also single handedly won Argentina the world cup in 1986. As said before Pele had a great support cast for the world cups in 58, 62 (in which he did nothing at all) and 1970 and he also hid in the comfort of playing in the Brazilian League in which the standard formation was probably 2-3-5.

Pele is like Muhammed Ali, gracious and loved by everybody, Maradona is like Mike Tyson the bad boy, and you know that at his peak Tyson was 10 times better than Ali just as Maradona was better than Pele. You can talk all you want about Maradona's cocaine addiction but remember this, cocaine is not a performance enhancing drug, in fact it reduces your stamina and makes you play worse and Maradona was playing amazing football while taking coke.
