The 13 April anti-Israel demonstration in Amsterdam featured more swastikas than the city has seen since the Nazi occupation.

Observers counted over 75 swastikas, several photos of Hitler, Stars of David superimposed on swastikas, banners proclaiming "USA = Jews = Nazis," "USA = Star of David" and demonstrators chanting "Sieg Heil," "Jews into the Sea" and "Al Yahud Kalb" ("The Jews are Dogs" in Arabic).

In a letter to the Netherlands Minister of the Interior, Klaas de Vreas, the Wiesenthal Center’s Director for International Liaison, Dr. Shimon Samuels, stated that "this demonstration insults the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance and impugns valiant efforts to confront the history of the Holocaust in the Netherlands. But concern for the 1940's Jewish victims of Nazism is meaningless without sensitivity to contemporary antisemitism."

The letter continued: "Such behavior would never have been tolerated from the extreme-right, yet neo-Nazism is clearly accepted if in the guise of anti-Israel expression."

The Center urged the Minister "to ensure that this outrage never recurs, that the offenders be prosecuted and that all measures be taken to defuse the current climate of antisemitism in the Netherlands, that emanates from the Middle East."

This is not good news for the Schroder's of Europe and all of the rest pro-EU idealist who want the people of Europe to hold hands and sing koombaya. I am pro "united Europe" to a certain degree (not pro "United States of Europe") but at the same time it is important to look at the realities of the world today. Do you think Germans living in Germany welcome the thousands of Albanians and Turks that come flocking into their workforce with open arms?

What we are likely to see in the near future is rise of more "rightist leaning" political parties and ideas in West Europe, which means that the "EU project" will have to be reevaluated, possible putting the brakes on the 2004 planned expansion.

Ronney - well I'm really no expert on EU, and I'm sure our Slovenian friends Dogner and Fantastic are a lot better informed about the latest EU developments as they anxiously wait for their country to be accepted as planned in 2004.

But what I can point out to you is the recent rise in Europe of 'rightist' parties.

Austria - I am sure that you are aware of Joerg Haider and the upheavel he caused when he got a share of Austria's coalition government two years ago. The country was hit with seven months of punishing sanctions by EU, and those were taken away only after he agreed to leave the coalition. His peak support two years ago was at 27%.

Belgium - "The Vlaams Blok" is Belgium's leading right-wing party and it is currently the biggest party in the cityof Antwerp. It advocates a stop to immigration and the expulsion of immigrants who do not assimilate into the Belgium culture.

Denmark - "The Progress Party" currently hold 22 out of 179 seats in the nation's parliament and it calls for Muslims to be expelled from Denmark

France - As I mentioned in my earlier post Jean-Marie Le Pen of the national Front Party of France, is facing incumbent Jacque Chirac in the 2nd round run-off on May 5th. Le Pen said that if he wins he will call a referendum to pull France out of the EU.

Germany - National Democratic Party foments skinhead violence and espouses neo-Nazi ideology. For now their popular support is insignificant.

Italy - Italy's president Silvio Berlusconi is the leader of the National Alliance, a party that is a direct descendant of Mussolini's Fascist party.


There are a few other right-wing party's appearing on Europe's radar, most notably in Norway and Holland.

Many people wonder why all of a sudden this rise of righist leaning parties in Europe. Well, my personal opinion, is that this is a direct reaction to the globalization and the fact that conformity is being imposed on the people of Europe. I think it is no coincidence that anti-globalization movement is gaining steam. There are many Europeans who do not feel comfortable having their borders exposed and having their countries currency turned into sentimental souveniers.

I think in the future we will see more Seattle's, more Prague's, more demonstrations around the world whenever IMF, WTO, G7, etc... have their meetings. And the funny thing is, how by default the anti-globalizationers see their enemy as "big-money, America, Jews", while the other side sees these protestors as "communists, pacifists, racists" .....

Well I'm not French (Thank God :D ;)), so I don't know - you're going to have to ask them I guess.

The only thing I can tell you is that I believe that most French were shocked that a candidate with such "extreme" views was able to get enough votes to go to the 2nd round. That's all - from what I know about the French politics and presidential candidates, is that it is pretty boring and most of them are really lame with no clear cut agenda's. Le Pen has an agenda and he wasn't afraid to tell the public what it was. From a recent news segment that I saw it appears that some French people simply voted for Le Pen to get Chirac and other "boring" politicans to wake up and start taking actions and responsibilities for those actions.

Thanks Ivan but even if you have to make fun of me, I dont need history lessons. No man, I didnt say that Marks is stupid, or that the ideas I like are smart and that ones I dont are not. They are just my views, and like you dont like much some of my ideas, still it dosent mean your are "stupid". what i want to say, is that leaders in 3rd world countries all over the world, are hindered in their path to economic development by the developed countries...i.e the West

This is done in a number of ways, and one is that leaaders in 3rd world countries, are given bonuses....and power, by the West to keep their country away from certain Industries....that the west specialise in..thus reducing competition on the international stage.

Basically what i am trying to say is that an elite few enjoy benefits, by the poor position of the 3rd world countries.



This is why the King of Saudi Arabia and their whole stinking royal family, enjoy around 90% of the country's income whilst muslim brothers and sisters...go without food, shelter..and education...that is owed to them, by the great wealth generated by the crude oil.


You see this position in nearly every muslim country around the world...not least the base Arabia, where Islam as we know it today..originated.

Pakistan..that Musharaf..or whatever won the election controversially.....? Why?


You see it has been foretold that before the time of Qyiammah........corrupt leaders will exist.


As we see it today Clinton and his adultery, Bush with his bomb anything that moves....(with no trial processing), Milosevic...
