here we discuss and see how Argentina teams r doing.
here are the first news on it:
02/15/2002. River Plate and Talleres of Córdoba played to a scoreless draw on Thursday night in a Group 7 match for the Copa Libertadores. The match took place in the estadio Monumental of Nuñez home field of River Plate. This was the debut of River in the tournament, while Talleres got worked over by Club America of Mexico last week in Mexico City. The two teams had just met on Sunday in Córdoba in the Argentine Clausura. River won that match 3-1, however for Talleres to leave the Monumental with a point, is just like a victory. Talleres, who finished in dead last of the 2001 Argentine Apertura, hasn't been playing well as of late. So, any points are good ones for the team from Córdoba.
Lineups:
River Plate: Angel Comizzo; Matías Lequi, Martín De Michelis, Ricardo Rojas; Eduardo Coudet, Cristian Ledesma, Víctor Zapata (m.75, Ariel Franco), Andrés D'Alessandro; Ariel Ortega, Juan Esnaider (m.63, Daniel Fonseca), Fernando Cavenaghi (m.63, Alejandro Domínguez)
Talleres: Mario Cuenca; Cristian Manfredi, Julián Maidana, Víctor Sotomayor, Víctor López; Gustavo Lillo, Adrián Avalos, Marcelo Sarmiento (m.51, Sebastián Carrizo), Maximiliano Salas (m.76, César La Paglia); Federico Astudillo (m.71, Diego Garay), Pedro Ojeda

02/14/2002. On Wednesday in the "La Bombonera" the two time defending champions did not show its face in their opening match against the Santiago Wanderers in the Copa Libertadores. Boca did not take advantage of their home field advantage and played to a lifeless scoreless draw. The Wanderers were gracious to leave Buenos Aires with a point, especially after the other Wanderers from Montevideo jumped out in front of the group with a victory over Emelec last week.
Was it because Roman Riquelme was to thousands of miles away with the Argentine national team or that the Wanderers came on the pitch with a nothing lose attitude? Who knows, but if Boca wants to raise the Copa Libertadores a third consecutive time, they will have to do much better than what they did in this match. Boca will have a tough challenge to get out of this group and will need to remain focus in their up coming matches. If not, Washington Tabarez and company will find themselves in trouble real quick.
Lineups:
Boca Juniors: Roberto Abbondancieri; Martínez, Nicolás Burdisso, Diego Crossa, Clemente Rodríguez (José María Calvo, 74); Sebastián Battaglia, Mauricio Serna (Daniel Giménez, 46), Omar Pérez (Héctor Bracamonte, 67), Walter Gaitán; Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Ariel Carreño.
Santiago Wanderers: Alex Varas; Rodrigo Barra, Manuel Valencia, Héctor Robles; Víctor Cancino, Jorge Ormeño, Arturo Sanhueza, Cristián Gálvez; Jaime Riveros; Joel Soto Dwight Pezzarossi, 72), Silvio Fernández (Rodrigo Núñez, 72)

05/09/2002. The Boca Juniors and Olimpia of Paraguay played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores quarterfinals series in the famed La Bombonera of Buenos Aires. Boca would lose their home field advantage and setup a very difficult second leg in Paraguay. Things started going bad for Boca in the 5th minute, when Mauricio Serna had to be replaced due to an injury. The scheme of Oscar Tabarez would then collapse because Serna's replacement, Omar Perez, doesn't play with the same flair as Serna. However the Los Xeneizes would strike first in the 18th minute. A cross from Sebastián Battaglia was received by Marcelo Delgado, and Delgado would then setup a pass so that Carlos Tevez would be free behind the Paraguayan defense. Tevez one touched the pass into the net. Boca would continue dominating the match, but Olimpia keeper Ricardo Tavarelli kept Boca honest and the ball out of the Olimpia net.
In the second half Boca tried to let the air out of the clock, but the visitors would take advantage of that strategy. Also Boca would start committing defensive errors and the equalizer would come to silence the home fans. Unfortunately for Boca, defender Cristian Traverso would knock the ball into his own net as he was trying to clear a centering pass of Richart Baez in the 67th.
The result will setup an interesting encounter for next week. Boca has now slipped up and needs to win by a goal in the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción, Paraguay, a feat that will be very difficult for Boca. The Paraguayan side hasn't lost a match played there in this edition of the Libertadores. Also Boca will be without the services of Serna or Traverso (yellow card accumulation), although Boca will retain the services of Diego Crosa and Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
