11 July 2001 (Teamtalk) -- Lithuanian champions FBK Kaunas Mange held Macedonians Sloga Jugomagnat to a goalless draw in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier.
Sloga Jugomagnat created just three goalscoring opportunities during the game, which were not enough to get the better of goalkeeper Eduard Kursis.
Presilski, Nuhiji and Ramadan were the three Sloga Jugomagnat players to carve out the chances, but Kursis made good saves from all three.
The home supporters were confident before the game that Sloga Jugomagnat would score at least one goal, and take an advantage with them to Lithuania next week.
Coach Ekrem Maglajlija experienced many problems with his team before the game, and was missing the injured Zdravevski and Sterjovski, amongst others.
However, FBK Kaunas coach Suarus Sirmelis also had problems, with his side missing last season's top scorer, Velicka, and several other players.
The visiting team from Lithuania were tactically astute, snuffing out the creativity of the home side's midfield, but they also played defensively throughout the 90 minutes to guarantee that they did not concede a goal.
After the game, coach Maglajija, who succeeded Gjore Jovanovski, was neither happy with the result nor the performance.
He said: "I'm not happy with how my team played today, because I expected us to score at least one goal.
"Both strikers, Stankovski and Nuhii, played poorly, together with the midfielders.
"I didn't make more substitutions because that would have been a risky move for a game like this.
"In Lithuania we'll play more aggressively, which will be our only chance to reach the second round."
