26 December 2001 (Teamtalk) -- Roma president Franco Sensi says there will be no new players coming into the club in the New Year but admits the club may be looking to sell.
Fabio Capello's men are currently second to Inter at the top of Serie A this Christmas after a convincing 3-0 win over one-time leaders Chievo on Saturday, and Sensi has stated that there will be no purchases once the transfer window reopens in January.
Sensi says the Roma management are happy with the current crop of players at the club although they may be looking to offload some players in the near future.
"There will be no purchases," Sensi said. "Fabio Capello didn't ask me to buy anyone and he even wants to part with some players in order to avoid problems inside the squad."
The Roma president has also expressed his delight following Saturday's victory away at Chievo, which he states was one of the best gifts he could have received.
He said: "It's been a great success. Before the match I knew that the boys wanted to do well and I'm glad they succeeded, giving me a great Christmas gift in the process."
And Sensi singled out club captain Francesco Totti for special praise after an influential display against this season's surprise Serie A outfit.
He said: "He taught everyone on that field how to play football. He played like a great conductor, especially for the third goal when he set up Damiano Tommasi with a superb cross-pass."
