Vieira, Owen, Shevchenko, Zanetti, Nesta. Many names but who do you think Real Madrid needs to stay the best team in the world. pesonally, i think that Real Madrid needs a new striker to substitute Fernando Morientes. But they do not need a new player because with this scuad, they will rulle at least 4 years!!!

When you know you got the Spanish govt behind you to back you up, you can spend crazy money and be called the BEst, far from it, team in the world.
Savio is a great player and has been waiting for 4 years to get a shot in Real.

I don't think you are very original Italian boy. If your govt wil buy your house for 1.000.000 $ i think you would also sell that house. Let's not forget that real madrid has spend less this year then Barcelona, Lazio, Manchester, Juventus and AC Milan. The only difference is that Real has only bought one Player. Zinedine Zidane...
Real madrid haven't got that money as a present. They have to sell they training fields...

Rez, I am not beaing original? is that a Dutch expression or something? cuz it makes total nonsense! Anyway, if the GOVT bought my house for 1.000.000 I would sell it. But what the heck as that to do with soccer? Real can count on the SPA govt, and so thats why they spend this huge amount of money for players that are 3 times less worth it! Barcelona on the other hand buys and sells who they need. Not like Real, Real has Savio, a very good player that has been waiting for 4 years to get a spot in the starting team! The guy to me would do wonders if only given the chance.
They might have spend a little less but they need:
a Good golie
A totally new defense,
the mid is good but they should re-watch it
And the attack is pretty good.
Instead of buying Zidane, they should have bought some good defender, not someone that is just taking the place of MacManaman or else. Geremi and Makelele play very well in there. Zidane was just to show how they great they think they are!

Yeah ... this guy is said to have scored more then 700 goals in Real Madrid's different youth teams. In addition I think Morientes will stay with Real. Raśl and Hierro have a lot to say in the club and are best of friends with Mori. They already had several talks with Fio Perez that they did not like to see how Mori was treated the last weeks. Honestly I must admit it was one of the unfairest behaviours against a player with such honours at the club I've ever seen. But I think the situation will change now that Mori's friends have been given a say.
Ronaldo by the way won't have an easy stand in Madrid IMO if he doasn't score them right from the beginning since many might prefer home grown Portillo. In addition I think many Merengues noticed the disloyality to Inter especially of the fenomenal knee-man. :D

After Ronnie? I would like to see Chivu on a Madrid shirt.

And Azul is right about Portigol.

Chivu would look much better in a blaugrana shirt! :D

He'd prefer Barca over Real too.

So do you lot really have first refusal on him or what?

The wall? No way. He'd prefer to play alongside Barca's Lion:

PUYOL! :D

Perez will not put the money into a world class defender since it's not apart of Perez financial profile for the club.
In short defenders do not sell shirts while within the 1st day of R11 signing some $23k were sold in merchandising.

Valdano will be looking for a tough central defender to step in when Hierro steps down. Some of the names that have been bantered around are Marquez, Edmilson, Chivu but I think that they will approach Samuel from Roma.

I think that“s contradictory. Why spend more on Samuel (than they would spend on the other players listed), if the return won“t be as great?

I think Samuel would be the best fit for you guys. Roma are having some financial troubles at the moment, so maybe you can nab him.

IMO, If given the chance Esteban "El Cuchu" Cambiasso, can become a star!
And Pavon and Portillo seem to be good youngsters. Anyone saw Portillo play?

I think what Real need now is a defender.....and not spend too much on strikers. I still think it was a waste of money (and energy!!) to get Ronaldo. Real's got plenty of strikers. As for the new players, I think Cambiasso and Portillo will shine......

Yeah, yeah. And Nesta was the core of Lazio's defense and they pretty much HAD to sell him. No one is untouchable in football except maybe Raul. Samuel is as good as sold in the next year or two.

Well it certainy wont be Jose Maria Lopez Silva:D

Real Madrid have sacked a player for biting a referee during a Third Division game.
Jose Maria Lopez Silva, of Real Madrid B, bit the shoulder of the referee during a game against Navalcarnero.

Real officials met yesterday to discuss the incident and decided to expel Silva from the club immediately.

"It has been an instinctive reaction, I lost my head for a second and did a small bite on the referee," explained Silva on Monday.

"It was because I felt he had made a poor decision when he sent me off. It will not happen again and I am very sorry."

His coach, Manolo Diaz, said last night: "It was a serious act and one that has no excuse. I believe it was a reflex action, but the committee have decided to expel him."
