PSV is not favorite here,50:50 match but PSV is more experienced in Europe and UEFA interest is to keep them in this competition who needs some "Asian" club so PSV will advance

Very difficult match-up... PSV is having a decent season, though I'm not convinced about their coach Fred Rutten (who is also leaving after this season). He's not a "briliant" man, PSV mainly relies on Dries Mertens, if Trabzon can take him out of the game...

Same here, I think 1-0 is a fair prediction. Goal from Halil...
ILK 11: Tolga, Mustafa, Serkan, Celustka, Giray, Cech, Colman, Aykut, Halil, Olcan, Burak

So half time, their coach is probably going to tell them to take the win here and play cautiously, and hopefully we'll capitalize and push harder, we can take this or get the draw with a goal, from there anything can happen.

Sorry to rant like this, but Burak really pisses me off sometimes.
Olcan was superb, his goal was excellent too. I wish so badly that GS had signed him, he is worth 5 million at least.
Barring an absolute miracle, it's over for Trabzon. Couldn't even muster a draw at home. Very disappointed. :tsk:

Did you watch the game? No offence bro but I knew people would come in and say things about Burak, I've been a bit pissed off today from this result, mainly because no one was ***king supporting Burak, really it's a ***king disgrace, every single Trabzon player from Balci to Adin was hogging it like no tomorrow and it makes my blood boil when I spend 90 minutes watching that shit, Burak had 0 support and there's only so much he can do by himself against a good strong fast defence like PSV's, he needs to get out of that shit hole team, I liked when Paulo Henrique came on too, he was a decent partner for Burak, Altintop was ok he was trying to be a team player but the rest of the outfield can go ***k themselves.

Maybe because when it comes to the big games his team mates flop like flowers from nerves and forget how to move the ball around, did you guys watch the game? Can you honestly tell me that the team was supporting the strikers? Btw smashing the ball up the field from the defence is not trying to set up your striker, it's a half assed attempt at doing whatever the ***k they try to achieve.
Erdz_GS
02-17-2012, 03:28 AM
He nearly scored, smashed the ball that most keepers in the CL wouldn't have even been able to save, and he made that all from himself, so you guys are just talking shit because he didn't score but didn't actually analyze the game properly, one striker doesn't score = he's ***king shit. Yeah it's so easy for him to score against a defence of PSV's.
When was the last time Ronaldo scored in a crucial game Vs Barca? = he's shit.. ?
I ain't having a rant coz he's my fav player or something, he's up there though and I respect him a lot, but don't judge someone just by goals, consider all the elements that the player has to work with and also his oposition before calling off a striker, if Besiktas or FB or Cimbom played against this PSV side with Burak up front I'm sure he would have done a lot more, that's one of my examples.
Don't judge someone just by how many goals they score.

 Burak and Ronaldo comparison. And talking about the PSV's defence? For god's sake, a team from Netherlands can't have that good of a defence. Even if they did, isn't Burak supposed to be... ummm.. wait for it... really good? Even what you're saying proves he's not good enough. Once he's up against good defensemen, he chokes. Plus, PSV's defence is average at best and with that I am being generous.
Erdz_GS
02-17-2012, 03:49 AM
I think PSV deserves a lot more credit, did you watch the game? Their team was quick strong and technical hence my "total football" post earlier on in the thread.
Trabzon's midfield choked big time though, absolutely no passing in final third for the second half, and that's definitely something you won't find in the big 3 clubs of Turkey as opposed to Trabzon. I honestly don't see how Burak choked there, ok he was quiet, but see the man marking they did to him? When you have a striker that has scored over 25 goals in a season do you guys think that teams won't be aware of the threat?
And my point still stands, a great attempt that %90 of keepers can't save had been saved, on another day against another keeper he would have simply been hailed on this forum.

Trabzon's defense :(. It's been their Achilles heel, Giray, Glowacki, and Mustafa Yumlu are all not good enough for Europe imo. Senol Gunes needs to really get a quality defender in the summer.

i just generally think that trabzon wont ever be a contender in europe, not like the other big 3. if we compare our big 4 to englands big 4 trabzon would be the equivalent of arsenal.

Yeah that's true, Alanzinho and Colman flopped hard too, especially Alanzinho, but for some reason Colman got subbed off first half, not having Zokora hurt them badly. But also PSV physically raped Trabzon.

Even though Jaja was a primadonna, at least he made things work for them in the attacking section too. Now they have this Alanzinho who's inconsistent even in simple TSL games. Of course the biggest loss for them was Selcuk Inan.. him together with Burak would've had them go through CL group stage. The fact that TS didn't get anyone to replace their best defender Egemen was also laughable. I said even before season started that TS is not going to be as strong anymore.. it was just to obvious.
Trabzon have not even been that strong in TSL either, it's only Burak who's been carrying the team, but in Europe you need a lot more than just 1 player.
Razzerian
02-17-2012, 12:25 PM
Alazinho has always been inconsistant though, maybe to a lesser extent than Yattara... but atleast Yattara had some serious moments of briliance, while Alanzinho... honestly. Has he ever done ANYTHING big? Sure against Manisaspor or so but I've never noticed him in a positive way in big games.
Szymkowiak! Now that was a good offensive midfielder for them!

I love how everybody was going "blah, blah, blah, total football, blah, blah, blah, I hate Burak, blah, blah, blah, Turkish teams in Europe, blah, blah, blah" when Kayserispor is taking advantages of the same squad depth issues that PSV took advantage of, name Mustafa and Aykut.
The fact that Mustafa Yumlu and Aykut Akgun are 24 and never figured at youth international level for Turkiye shows that Trabzonspor could stand to have and probably could find better Turkish players in their position. Senol Gunes has done a good job of getting as much as he could out of these two local guys as he does with all the players he coaches but I don't think these two are enough.

Imo the foreign transfers they did this season has been good, but they've been putting a lot of money in the attacking line while they've totally ignored the defence...
Olcan was a GREAT signing! And on paper Volkan Sen was a great signing too (didn't pan out that way so far)... but their center defence... seriously?
Celuska and Cech are good backs and they already had Serkan Balci, who in my opinion is still one of the better right backs in the league.
But not replacing Egemen in the center was a big mistake, they should've bought an experienced central defender... prefferably someone with both European experience and experience in a top league...

The Dutch are degenerate assholes and I don't want to hear any crap about "but but but the immigration...". It goes far deeper than that (No offense, commentadore; I'm only brining this stuff up to rip on the Dutch): "Colonel Thom Karremans was filmed raising a glass with war crimes suspect and General Ratko Mladić. Following negotiations between UN and Mladić's forces, on Friday, July 21st, 1995, lieutenant-colonel Karremans and Dutch UN soldiers were allowed to leave Srebrenica. On the farewell, Colonel Karremans accepted gifts from General Mladić, smiled, shook his hand and departed. Shortly after his return to The Netherlands Karremans was promoted to full colonel."

When it comes to football they're incredibly arrogant though...
Man that Louis van Gaal was commenting for the NOS before the match between Feyenoord & Fenerbahçe some years ago...
You know what that prick said?
"Turkish football really isn't all that great", I was red with rage when I heard that come out of his fat mouth...
But in Belgium it's the same, they can be so arrogant. But I see the same thing here though, they comment on stuff they have no clue about but people here do exactly the same... I hate it when people judge a team/league without ever having seen a game from them... there's nothing I hate more in Football than stuff like that.

Wow, he really said that after a World Cup where Turkiye reached 3rd place and a season of club football where Galatasaray knocked out PSV and had been raping European clubs for at least three seasons? Meanwhile, the Dutch didn't even qualify for the World Cup...
I think his AZ team almost got knocked out by Ertugrul Saglam's Kayserispor and Fenerbahce in the same year too? If either of them had been more careful about conceding 2nd half goals AZ would have been eliminated as going into the second half in both cames, AZ was out.

I do believe that was the season Feyenoord won the Uefa cup though... it was 2002-2003 if I remember correctly.
But yeah, not all dutch are as cocky as he is but still... a lot of them are.
Dutch people are known to "speak their mind" but often they just talk crap :P

Yeah, it was the Feyenoord team coming off the UEFA Cup win in 2002. IMO, a lame UEFA Cup winner. Since 1997, the UEFA Cup winner had beaten the Champions League winner to win the UEFA Super Cup up until Feyenoord f*cked up the streak.
