i just heard that the winner of the world cup will not automaticly advance to the next world cup. At first i couldnt believe that fifa did that. i mean if one country wins THE world cup that gives them a paramount over all the other countries. that team had to stuggle and win games. and as a reward they should automaticly be in the next world cup, but on the other hand i think that if they did win the world cup that they should be good enough to advance with out a "free" ticket. and they do get an award; the world cup title. I mean come on that is the title that every soccer player, soccer team, and every soccer country wants right. well that is what i thought about what fifa did i just wanted to see what you guys think of that.

it's so stupid it's like going back to the past wc
Imagine a WC where the champions are not there to defend their title, just cos they had a bad qualifying round. Qualifications are not everything.

I don`t realy care. If the team won WC why would be a problem to qualify for another turnament?! Aren`t they the best team in world?! :dontcare:

It does not matter as Germany will be both World Cup winner and next hosts!!!!!!!
Gunter, you need a reality check.
Unless Germany play like 5,6 years ago, the deutchsland have no chance.:D

I see the arguement go two ways:
"The next World Cup is a whole new competition. The past winner will have nothing to do with it unless they fight for a place like the rest of the squads."
OR
"The next World Cup must feature the defending champion attempting to make it two straight despite trouble in qualification due to key injuries."
Take your pick.
