Ajax 1-3 PSV
Ajax 1 - Andre Bergdolmo 87 pen
PSV 3 - Mateja Kezman 7 ; Theo Lucius 12 ; Dennis Rommedahl 79
Halftime: 0-2

Good result for PSV, the 0-2 score after the first half was well deserved. Kezman scored a quick easy goal, a few minutes later a Lucius goal was unrightfully disalowed but soon after that Lucius scored a great goal.

In the second half we saw a different Ajax, they started playing better and started creating chances, Mido scored and again the goal was disallowed, can't say I agreed with that decision and it could have turned the game around, but......Rommedahl came in and scored two minutes later.

Co started with a defensive 5-3-2 after the game against NAC where he tried to play offensive football once again, this proved not be effective today. A lot of Ajax fans were calling for Adriaanse's resignation and after PSV's third goal a lot of fans left the stadium.

The one thing that shocked me was Ajax's physical play. Zlatan again proved he's got a bad temper, but there were more players, Faber and Bouma left injured whereas Nikiforov and Kezman were both hit hard but decided to continue the game.

That leaves me with one conclusion, the title-race is open once again......

PS Dutch TV chose Mateja Kezman as the Man of the Match, great performance by him.:D ;)

Ajax indeed looked pathetic in the first half, and not THAT much better in the second half. The midfield seemed totally disorganized, as if nobody knew where anyone else would be. Ajax passed directly to PSV players about a dozen or more times. Maxwell seemed completely lost out there. Actually made me yearn for Tim de Cler. Wow, that's desperation time.

I think there is a curse for Ajax with referee Dick Jol on the field. He is terrible, in my opinion, although Ajax can NOT rightfully blame him for the defeat. But it does seem that Ajax never play well in games officiated by this wierdo. And I do think he should've given Ajax a penalty when Wamberto got a boot in his face in front of goal. That might have turned the game around. Add that to the mysterious decision to disallow Mido's goal, and you do have an outcome colored by the referee.

Still, it would be dishonest to say that Jol was at fault. Ajax must accept that they failed. The referee merely added to their problems.

Agreed, Jol had a big impact on the game, and I also agree that he's a worthless referee.

Still as you said Ajax has to blaim itself, the only successful games this season were the ones where Adriaanse used the 5-3-2 formation (which is against all of Ajax' beliefs), but they kept winning and no-one seemed to be complaining. In this game PSV proved that a better opponent can easily take advantage of this Berlin-wall play.

I think we can expect Adriaanse to get sacked any day now, the fans won't accept results like this any longer. I'll be honest and say that I thought he was going to be the next Van Gaal, but I have been proven wrong. Still it's not as if Ajax don't have a chance anymore to win the title, they have a strong squad and with the right man in charge anything is possible.

Although I hope this year the still will saty undecised till the very end.

BTW welcome to the board, ;)
