This will be the main thread for our journey to London! This will be our main discussion thread, while we go through Europe.
Our group:
GROUP G
AC MILAN
REAL MADRID
AJAX
AUXURRE
I don't like this group not one bit :tsk: Its a tough one actually, I see us taking second after Real Madrid, Mourinho right now has the upper hand on Milan, he has the better players at the moment and they are soon bound to click together. Ajax and Auxurre are no walk in the parks, both will be very tough to beat on the road. I see us taking second but as always FORZA MILAN!

Marseilles? Eliminating Milan last season? I don't think so....Super Pippo owned the French...
Madrid have better players, but their not a team, there individuals. it will take a year or two for them to play as a team.....at least in Europe. Their back4 is also very shaky, Marcelo at LB? Ramos at rb? lol..Ronaldinho will rape him...again....

Mmmh Seedorf especially, he made an awesome game in Marseille, the1st half was for you, but you did nothing during the entire 2nd but score this goal with an amazing pass of Clarence, as we were really putting pressure. A draw was logical, and we could have won in San Siro, too many wasted opportunity at 1-1... anyway I don't say that Milan didn't deserve, just that they were in bad form and that we had the sufficient level to beat them with more luck/experience. :)

Yes, experience and talent won against our power and enthusiasm, and it's normal.
You could be better this year, but Real too, Ajax is better than us, and Auxerre can keep a 0-0 long long long time...

Robinho won't hold back in Madrid
Milan playmaker Robinho insists he'll celebrate if he scores against his former club Real Madrid when the two sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Brazil international spent three years at the Santiago Bernabeu and won La Liga twice before making an ill-fated move to Manchester City.
Interviewed in Marca, Robinho said: “I am going to Madrid only with the desire to win because it's a very important game for our future in the Champions League.
“My intention is only that of helping Milan as much as possible to come away from the Bernabeu victorious, nothing more.
“I am going to do the best for Milan. I have always had a good relationship with the Real Madrid fans and I feel dear to them.
“But now I am defending the colours of another great team and I am coming with all my strength to win.
“I don't regret the decision to leave Madrid, only the way that I left, which wasn't the best. Life goes on and I am very happy at Milan.
“If I score. I will celebrate. Not doing so would show a lack of respect towards my fans of today,” he concluded.
For Milan's sake, I hope he does have a good game. In fact, if I were Allegri I'd definitely start him as he would have some high motivation to score against his old team and this will certainly be the game of this group.
On another note, Silva is said to have made the trip but it's not known whether he will start or not just yet. He and Nesta being in top form is vital.

Binho will come off the bench.
Hopefully we use this formation....

Just tuned into the game and it's 2-0 RM over Milan already. Anyone see the goals? HT is coming up so I'm sure they'll replay them, but so far Madrid looks the better team. Let's see if Milan has what it takes to turn it around.

Robinho in at the 70th for Ronaldiho. Let's see what he can do. For Rossonero's sake, and Milan's a timely goal here would be very important.

Well ACM had their chances, but Casillas great save on a Pirlo FK and Seedorf squandered a perfect opportunity. Madrid the better team, marginally, but comfortable win. Back to the drawing board for Milan.

We were raped....literally.
if real knew how to finish, the score could of been 6-0.....
allegri is a dunce...
madrid are a fast paced team, who are deadly on the counter. what does our loser coach do? start the slowest midfield in world football..lol......what a idiot!!!

It wasn't so bad. 2-0 loss and one on a deflection away from home means you need to learn from this loss and change gears. How Allegri approaches the follow up match would be more telling.

lol what a lucky goal by Ozil, Ronaldo's goal was pretty good although it could of easily been prevented if that wall didn't move.. from the highlights I saw Real Madrid looked like the better team overall..
btw vipaman, I was just wondering do they get tsn up there in canuck city? because thats where they had this game..

Yeah BR, that's where I watched it too as lately video streams through justin.tv and ustream.tv have been cr@p.
RM was the better team. Inzaghi created the best chance for ACM, and that shows that the team still hasn't gelled properly, as I thought might happen with Ibra/Dinho not knowing who was going to be the main go-to guy. When Gattuso is still one of the busiest midfielders out there, you know the attack needs some bolstering.
Personally I think Robinho was redundant and the team should have focused on maximizing a partnership of Borriello (big target man) with Pato (mobile and good in support) with Ibra behind them. But names like Robinho can sell and Berlusconi wanted to please the fans. He did get a good shot on net though :D

I was surprised tsn covered the Milan game as they usually put on an english team thats playing which i cant be bothered to watch.. I use myp2p and atdhe when i watch games on the net but other than that i dont bother looking at any other sites..
I know Sedoorf missed a great chance from like 5 yards and Pirlo I believe it was struck a nice free kick but Casillas made an amazing save, from the highlights Madrid created many chances but there poor finishing prevented them from scoring more goals today. I still dont know why Madrid is keeping Benzema they should sell him or something, he has been really useless lately..
Vipaman
10-19-2010, 11:49 PM
I think the decision was more to cover RM at the moment, and the two English teams playing today weren't facing big name opposition (ok Spartak is big enough, but not bigger than RM and ACM), so that's probably also a factor.

I've explained my reasoning and status on Robinho, and my arguments still stand. He failed at Madrid and Man City, and 2 goals (neither were winning goals, or against significant opposition) don't change anything just yet. But then I'm arguing with a "wing-nut" who's too stupid to differentiate between what I've said, and what he has imagined. So I can't help you there :noidea:, IQ is not transferable.
Oh yes, this is the CL thread where Robinho was invisible against Madrid. Even Inzaghi performed better. Why?
On the other hand, and I've asked this twice with no response from you so far ;) You want to talk about eating words? :eat:
Do I need to dig up the "debate" I had with you and your little brother Meewaneesta on the effect of Ibrahimovic coming to Milan would be on Dinho and how Dinho can't cope with other superstars in the same team? Keep talking, we'll revist some of your responses to that soon ;)

I suppose it cancels out the other one earlier.

I thought Madrid's first was offside too, but Madrid was better up to that point. Missed the first half of the 2nd half, but in the end it was pretty even. Pippo does it again. Is Ibra ever going to show up in the CL people?

Ibrahimovic was a big part in both goals Vipa.
Vipaman
11-03-2010, 10:55 PM
I'm talking about scoring Bosan, you can't tell me he's had a particularly great CL career, unlike Super Pippo, for example. He needs to step it up if Milan are going to be contenders or even challenge the top four this year. Someone with his skill has to be a game breaker. On the second, Gattuso popped Pippo with a cross, and while offside, Pippo did what he needed to do and put it in the net. I wouldn't give Ibra too much undeserved credit, specially with him squandering two golden opportunities in the first. His caliber-type player NEEDS to bury those!
BavarianRed
11-03-2010, 11:00 PM
Ibrahimovic over the years had been nothing more than average in CL, the chances he gets
he should be hitting those but it seems to me he doesn't really get enough support in Milan to be able to do that. haha Ibrahimovic was lucky Casillas blundered the ball for the first goal, like I dont know what he was thinking but poping the ball back up in the air was Inzaghi was right behind him to pounce on the ball... But anyways Milan will make to the next round
Vipaman
11-03-2010, 11:07 PM
Ibrahimovic also caught Casillas out of the net and put it wide. He needs to hit those balls. If it's a Gattuso people can make excuses for the miss, but Ibra has more skill and has no excuses.

I think Casillas came out a bit too far when Ibrahimovic crossed it but I don't know why Casillas didnt just punch the ball for a corner it would of prevented the blunder he made.. I dont see Ibrahimovic usually scores in CL when the score has already been settled, he needs to step up and be the player who decides games and brings it to the next level..

If I had a house I'd bet it on a double that Inter won't win the CL this year. It's impossible. I don't think Barca can either, and I have doubts that Madrid is ready. That leaves Bayern, Chelsea, Manchester in the running and Manchester is falling apart and needs reinforcements. Giggs is done and can't keep that midfield together. Bayern, I think are missing something (don't taze me Bavarian...I know they're good but don't know if they can repeat last years final appearance...but I could be wrong), so Chelsea is the remaining team and they just got reinforced this year, lost some dead weight and are positioned similarly, as a team psychologically, as Inter was last year; meaning that they were considered top contenders for so many years but no dice.

I am glad that Ajax beat Milan away and somewhat softened their vilification by Real. Their history imposes leaving the tournament with the head up high.

Yeah I suppose there's some consolation.
Does anyone know what the draws compose of for the next round? I understand you can't face a team from your own country or own 1st round division.
Are there any other restrictions?

The draw is next Friday. I can't think of any other restrictions now.

Well..we may not win the scudetto....without Silva are defense is terrible. Nesta can only do so much. If Nesta goes down..then we're toast!

Shitty for you. Good for us :D But that just means you guys are going to buy another CB during winter. You should try to snag Ranocchia...I want him at Juve but I don't think there is a chance of that, so better you than him returning to Inter.

Silva was learning a lot from Nesta. True, without Nesta you guys could be in trouble. I said that at the beginning of the season but Milanista got really mad and said Yepes was good enough. Time will now tell if he was right or wrong.

I doubt we sign Ranocchia. He's co-owned by Inter. Seeing as they have many injury's, and Samuel is out, they've been strongly linked his return.
As far as Yepes. He's a good defender. Tactically he knows what he's doing. But he's very slow..lol...I don't want to see him being Nesta's partner. Seeing as we love to attack, we're susceptible on the counter..Thiago helps because he's fast. Yepes is the opposite..lmao

I would love for Milan to sign Astori...he'd be a good replacement...and potentially's Nesta's replacement.

I've been told a lot of Americans think that. Actually Vancouver is not so bad...played a game tonight -outside- YES - outside...if you can imagine that :)
It's 5°C or 41°F and it's midnight right now...so not too bad at all actually, but ski season is here and the mountains are near, and that's facken awesome!

Vancouver are getting their own MLS franchise...so good for them.
It would be nice to see the Sport grow across North America. Toronto FC for example, are a good organization. With a solid team and stadium...their attendances are always always great.

Milan vs Tottenham.
Good thing Thiago will be back by then! Milan will need to learn from Inter's defensive mistakes, and Abate should be given the task of covering that speed demon Bale. I think Abate can keep up with him.

Well you redeemed yourselves today, Patato scored the fastest goal against Barca, splitting defense with a superb run in first minute of the game and Silva saves his goal for the last minute. Getting the draw at the Camp Nou is a big victory. Barcelona is still the best team in the world, and Messi was deadly today. Nesta eventually came around with some great defensive plays on the little man, but Messi proves why he's the best in the world.

I think Milan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.C._Milan) only really have an outside chance of winning the Champions League. I think that United and Barca are just too powerful and I would be surprised if Milan could beat them over two legs. If the draw is kind then possibly they could get something in the final in a one off game, but when Barca get in the swing of things and if United keep up their form then I think that Milan won't have a good chance.
