The new Rankings are out and they look a hell of alot more accurate then they did last month.
1 France
2 Argentina
3 Brazil
4 Portugal
5 Colombia
6 Italy
7 Spain
8 Netherlands
9 Mexico
10 England
11 Germany
12 Yugoslavia
13 Czech Republic
14 Paraguay
15 Romania
16 Sweden
17 Denmark
18 Ireland Republic
19 Croatia
20 Belgium
England are still scraping into the top 10, but have rightly dropped 1 spot. germany have moved up 3 spots. Ireland are up 2 spots also and finally justice has been served on Argentina, they wont be long catching up with France the way they are going...

I know the standings don't mean much, but damn they look GOOD to me. Brazil's place in the top three just goes to show how long you can coast on your record.
Of course, the other plus will come from hearing our Italian friends howl at the injustice of seeing Italy in 6th. That's about right though, they're paying the penalty for their low scoring habits.

Yeah, OK, their low scoring habits and everything, but Italy behind Colombia? Weird.

Heh. Just goes to show that FIFA's rankings are a joke. Since Brazil was first-placed I've said I consider that ranking a joke - and that was always the general impression even in Brazil, trust me; we even used to say that the first rule was "Brazil has to be first". Not even a drooling retard would place Brazil on top these days, of course.
I believe I've read somewhere that the ranking is a result of an arcane calculation, something really weird, sort of like this:
"The total points gained in international competition, added to the number of international victories, is divided by the number of clubs in international tournaments plus the latest WC placing; then you add how many players are starters in foreign clubs, then multiply by the number of goals scored in continental competition, divide it by the total number of red cards issued in the national league. Multiply it by the average number of offsides in the national league, add the number of the shirt of the National Team's top goalscorer and divide it by the bra size of the NT goalkeeper's wife. Then you put it in the oven and wait forty minutes." ;) And there you have it, the final points that decide the position a country holds in the ranking.
Of course, that's not the exact formula, but it's just as insane and impenetrable - IMO, it was planned this way, so FIFA's dimwits could just write the names in any order they please.
Bwahahahahaha:D
You had me going all the way to the bra size of the goal keeper's wife... Shit! I think you had me all the way to the overn part! Oh, hell! You had me until you told us it wasn't the actual formula.:D

You forgot to mention that the person who enters the data must eat tuna on Thursdays and hop on one foot while rubbing his head in a counter clockwise direction.
Get it right man.

What about the guy that draws balls every day of the week for a month to decide how a country moves up or down. Countrys like England, Italy, Brazil and Holland etc get 20 points for being drawn out of the top (1 of the 10)10, 19 points if they are one of the top 20 and so on . A second rated team like ireland, Belgium and to an extent Croatia (only because Fifa dont make as much money as they wish from them!!) get 15 points for being drawn in the top 20, 14 points for being drawn in the top 30 (20-30). Of course to make the draaw clearer the 'big' teams balls are blue, the lesser teams balls are white and the poor teams balls are red. negative points are recieved if you do not make Fifa over £200,000 for them a year, if you dont have a large fan base and if you are not historically a good or great team.
FIFA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE ITS RULES AND REGULATIONS TO SUIT ITS MORE FAVOURED TEAMS, I MEAN TO IMPROVE THE STAUS OF THE BEAUTIFUL GAME AS IT SEES FIT....;)

What about the guy that draws balls every day of the week for a month to decide how a country moves up or down. Countries like England, Italy, Brazil and Holland etc get 20 points for being drawn out of the first 10 balls drawn (1 of the 10), 19 points if they are one of the top 20 (between 11-20) and so on. A second rated team like Ireland, Belgium and to an extent Croatia (only because Fifa don’t make as much money as they wish from them!!) get 15 points for being drawn in the top 10, 14 points for being drawn in the top 20 (11-20). Of course to make the draw clearer the 'big' teams balls are blue, the lesser teams balls are white and the poor teams balls are red. Negative points are received if you do not make Fifa over £200,000 for them a year, if you don’t have a large fan base and if you are not historically a good or great team. At the end of each month FIFA adds up all the points and gets a satisfactory placing for each team, which is added to or subtracted from that teams current score. The key to the system is that the points you get are divided by the amount of teams that Fifa deems to be better then a country’s team.
