Any news, friendlies, etc. regarding Zeljo in pre-season preparation can go here.

I wonder what some players like Bajro Spahic, Semir Dip, Zajko Zeba, etc. can do during the summer... hopefully alot of young players can make a break through along with new inclusions from outside of Zeljo like Zajko Zeba.

One thing Zeljo has always missed was a really good centerforward. Face it, Alen Mesanovic was good but just not one of the best center forwards in the league. Sometimes he'd score a brace, other times he'd be invisible. And let's face it, the only reason he had so many goals was because players like Bekric and Beslija played around him. Then Rovcanin is young and inconsistent, while Popovic is only good sometimes...and misses alot of tap-ins. It would truly be a breath of fresh air if Bajro Spahic can break through and become one of the best centerforwards in the league, but I think it's vital for Zeljeznicar to go ahead and make a coup for 1 or 2 more centerforwards like Adin Dzafic or Juan Manuel Varea to add to the depth.

I'm also all for buying junior players for peanuts...that we could raise and make them into great players. Armin Arnaut (20 goals, 24 games) and Denis Bosnjak (21 goals, 23 games) are top scorers of the junior league ...and both play for Celik Zenica. I wouldn't mind making a coup for these guys.

BTW, what's the deal with Armin Hodzic? He's scored 37 goals in 23 games for the Zeljeznicar kadet team. I wouldn't mind giving him a trial for the first team.

We have a friendly with Olimpik on Friday or Saturday, we'll see how that goes..about centreforwards we should have been able to get Nermin Huskic from Buducnost but Krylya Sovetov offered more money :(

Alot of Youth players are also on trails with Zeljo in Fojnica, those who continue with the team to Mudugorje have a shot at first team Idk if Armin Hodzic is there =/

Željezničar će u subotu odigrati prijateljski susret sa Olimpikom u Fojnici, a za 9. juli dogovoren je susret sa Cibalijom iz Vinkovaca.

Bit će to prava prilika da šef stručnog štaba Amar Osim bolje upozna igrače na koje nije mogao računati prošlu sezonu, odnosno igrače koji su na probi i koji se bore za svoje mjesto u timu.

Podsjetimo da će Plavi 14. jula gostovati u Tel Avivu, a revanš je zakazan za sedam dana kasnije i to na stadionu Koševo.

ŽELJO I OLIMPIK ODIGRALI DVA SUSRETA

Sarajevski premijerligaši, Željezničar i Olimpik, danas su odigrali, pa možemo slobodno reći dva prijateljska susreta.

U prvom su oba trenera na teren poslali prve momčadi, dok su u drugom igrali oni koji su na probi, odnosno, oni koji se još uvijek bore za svoje pozicije u momčadi.

Oba susreta trajala su po 60 minuta, a u prvom nije bilo pobjednika.

Aktuelni bosanskohercegovački prvak, Željezničar, poveo je golom Bajre Spahića, a Olimpik je preko Vedrana Ješe došao do izjednačenja.

Obje momčadi u ovom susretu imale su po nekoliko izglednih prilika, ali Popović i Zeba s jedne, te Kapić i Mujić s druge strane, danas su bili neprecizni.

U drugom dijelu na terenu su bili igrači koji se nalaze na probi, ili pak se bore za svoje mjesto u prvoj momčadi, a Željezničar je golom Savića slavio s minimalnih 1:0

Fudbaleri Željezničara u jednoj od posljednjih provjera za nastup protiv Hapoela iz Tel Aviva u pretkolu Lige prvaka odigrali su danas u Međugorju sa bugojanskom Iskrom 0:0 i 1:1.

Bile su odigrana dva poluvremena koja su trajala po sat vremena. Prvo je završeno 0:0, dok je u drugom bilo 1:1. Jedini gol za Plave dao je Stanić.

Za Željezničar je u prvom poluvrememenu nastupio sljedeći sastav: Karić, Odović, Gančev, Kerla, Čolić, Svraka, Perak, H. Bešlija, Rovčanin, Spahić i Mešanović.

Drugi 60 minuta igrali su: Šehić, Stanić, Radovanović, Bogičević, Mešić, Ćulum, Savić, M. Bešlija, Višća, Zeba i Popović.

“Zadovoljni smo jer je meč došao nakon napornih priprema pa su noge bile olovne. Nadam se da će sve biti dobro u Tel Avivu”, kazao je za SCsport.ba Rusmir Cviko, direktor stručnog štaba.

Željina ekspedicija na put će krenuti u nedjelju, a do Izraela će avionom preko Beča.

Željezničar večeras protiv Cibalie

Generalnu probu pred utakmice Lige prvaka fudbaleri Željezničara će imati večeras protiv trećeplasirane ekipe prvenstva Hrvatske.
Utakmica će se igrati na Grbavici sa početkom u 20 sati, a cijene ulaznica će biti 3 KM za tribine Jug i Sjever, dok je za Zapad potrebno izdvojiti 10 KM.

Vinkovčani su proteklu sezonu szavršili na trećoj poziciji u HNL-u, sa samo bodom zaostatka u odnosu na splitski Hajduk i pet u odnosu na prvaka Dinamo, tako da bi Željezničar večeras trebao imati pravu provjeru pred mečeve sa Hapoelom, a i posjeta bi trebala biti na nivou.

Izraelci nisu imali priliku saznati nešto više o timu Želje, jer su dosadašnji treninzi našeg prvaka bili zatvoreni za javnost, dok se večeras očekuje dolazak pomoćnog trenera izraelske ekipe.

Tim s Grbavice bi trebao istrčati u sljedećem sastavu: Šehić - Stanić, Radovanović, Mešić, Bogičević - M. Bešlija, Višća, Savić, Ćulum - Zeba - Popović.

btw....Zeljo beat Cibalia 4-1, Cibalia finished like 2nd or 3rd in HNL and we took a shit on them both teams played full strength squads so it was pretty much a competitive friendly

Aktuelni prvak Bosne i Hercegovine sarajevski Željezničar savladao je sa ubjedljivh 4:1 ekipu Cibalije na Grbavici večeras.

Pred solidno popunjenim tribinama (oko 3.500 navijača), sarajevski plavi su u posljednjoj provjeri pred gostovanje u Tel Avivu kod Hapoela, savladali hrvatskog prvoligaša Cibaliju sa uvjerljivih 4:1.

Sarajevski plavi poveli su golom Milana Ćuluma u 13. minuti, da bi 10 minuta kasnije na 2:0 povisio Mešić. Sjajno prvo poluvrijeme izabranika trenera Amara Osima krunisao je Savić, golom u 37. minuti, pa se na odmor otišlo pri rezultatu od 3:0 za Željezničar.

Novajlija u plavom dresu, Zajko Zeba, upisao se u strijelce u 69. minuti, a u 76. minuti počasni (auto)gol za Cibaliju postigao je igrač Željezničara Stanić.

Hvala Bogu da se ovo sad desilo, da je protiv Hapoela odrali bi Sehu, bio je jedan od boljih danas, dominirao sesnestercem! Popovic, vec ste sve o njemu rekli, znaci pod hitno prije Hapoela moramo dovest nekog spica! Stanic se dobro snasao na desnom beku, Mesic i Bogicevic odlicni! Radovanovic standardno! Culum i Savic, presjecali su dosta napada i zabili oboje! M. Beslija standardno dobar! Visca solidan! I Majstor Zeba fantastican, prava zamjena za Bekrica!

Quick little summary from someone who watched the game. Looks like Lazar Popovic is the weakest link hopefully we agree to terms with Adin Dzafic by then, but idk they both seem like similar players i.e tap in hero's :tsk: but idk maybe Dzafic is better than that since I haven't seen him much, he's not the U21 captain for nothing.

Meni ovo dobro izgleda...najvise me je zanimalo kakav je napredak u odnosu na one pocetne treninge prije fojnice,i imao sam sta da vidim...ne mogu nikako u glavi da prokuzim cibaliju,njihov odnos prema igri i nemogucnost odigravanja iole kvalitetne akcije me stavlja u polozaj da se zapitam onda i oko nase snage...meni je ovo izgledalo kao da su nam sparing partneri,pa stoga ne mogu da se uvjerim da smo mi tako sjajni,kad su oni bili prelosi,ali nadam se da mi fakat jesmo tako dobri..
Svidjelo mi se kako je tekla nasa igra...nije to bio neki jak tempo,protiv hapoela cemo morati podici tempo igre za veliki postotak,ali osjetio sam da nasi momci to mogu uraditi,a da li ce biti dovoljno vidjecemo...
Lijepo su vukli poteze,imamo glavu i rep,djelujemo organizovano i solidno uigrano iako nismo imali puno prepremnih utakmica...Sehicu se desio peh i drago mi je da je dobio podrsku,mada je tekma bila uveliko rijesena...nadam se da uskoro nece imati takvih pehova...Stanic je neka kombinacija Osimova,nesto tipa kada je Bucana stavljao na bocnog protiv Borca...brz je,moze probiti,uletiti po strani naprijed,za defanzivu nisam bas siguran da je to pravi igrac za tu poziciju...Radovanovic me je obradovao nastupom,djeluje snaznije,svjeze,par dobrih centarsuteva,bas onakav kakav je bio kad je tek dosao,sasvim dobar...stoperski par besprijekoran,oni funkcionisu jako dobro,bas sam miran kad su oni u pitanju...Beslija mi djeluje umorno,nema svjezine,ali to je nas Mirso,solidno po strani,iskustvom nadoknadio teske noge...Savic je pojacanje...neuporediv mi je u odnosu na Svraku kojeg inace gotivim,ali ovaj je Savic jako kvalitetan,dobru trku ima,motorika sjajna,kamiondzija,a zna i da potegne sut,pa evo vec drugi put strijelac i to je predobro...Culum standardan,ja sam uvijek bio zadovoljan nivoom njegovih igara,konstantan je i to mi je ekstra...Visca je cisto ludilo od igraca,on ako bude na ovom nivou,mnogo cemo se radovati njegovim igrama...koristi svoj talenat maksimalno i napreduje svakim istrcanim korakom,mali ce biti nas ponos definitivno...Zeba je perverzan :mrgreen: ,taj stih koji on ima ,nema trenutno nijedan igrac u nasoj ligi...ubjedljivo najvece pojacanje koje nam se moglo desiti...nije trkac,ali on to i ne treba da bude...korneri su mu pola gola,pregled igre i sposobnost zadnjeg pasa je cisto ludilo,bezobrazluk i dribling je odlican...postigao pogodak za desetku...Lazo k'o Lazo,upravo ono sto je i do sada igrao,na ledjima dvojica,ovaj put solidna trka,ali bez golgeterskog ucinka...zao mi je sto je Gancev igrao par minuta,ali izgleda igracki,odlicno izbijanje lopte glavom sa poznatim elementom koji se zove upijac...izgleda ok...

^ He makes some nice assists too at times. For the U21 team, he's had alot of times where he cuts through the right wing and delivers balls to the other forward (runs much more for U21)...has had a couple assists like that. Against Italy, he was really good.

Dzafic isn't a winger... but does run back often and work his way through the right side. That's good though... he can both:

1) form a tandem with the good right winger we have (Beslija)
2) do less work seeing that Beslija's behind him...and do something else instead... like score goals :noidea:

Just because he scores alot of tap-ins, doesn't mean he sucks. He's a workhorse...and often comes back to help deliver balls and dribble his way through the right wing. He's pretty fast too and knows how to dribble :thumbsup: Plus he's only 20 years old or sum bullshit like that. He's bound to get much better next season. If he comes to Zeljo, it would be a major coup... and he'll be an instant starter and best forward we have. We can't win games with Popovic dude.

From that video I can tell Dzafic has serious pace and dribbling ability :thumbsup: His style of play kind of reminds me of Thomas Muller, he even kinda looks like Thomas Muller, holy shit. It also looks like he has the ability to score in the air and create chances for himself :thumbsup:

Every good forward in the world will look poor when his team blows hard and he isn't given enough balls. Just look at Klose against Spain, Rooney, Messi at times, Torres, Drogba, etc. I bet if Dzafic played in front of Visca, Zeba, Savic, and Beslija... he would be the best forward in the league...

^ I'm just telling you what I've seen so far. Some of the matches I saw was Velez against Sloboda, Borac and Rudar, and Bosnia U21 against Romania U21. In these 4 matches I just mentioned did he get enough passes, but he screw it up in many of the situations and played poorly most of the match.

Dude I know what you mean man, :lol:. I think the same about Dzafic. He's sort of passive and weak... and doesn't know how to control his game well. He doesn't have that killer edge to his game and last great touch or pass that players like Zec have. He loses the ball often too.

He has the potential though, and he's pretty young... and our whole forward line is nothing more than average BIHPL quality when it's supposed to be much better. So I'm going by that criteria when I say he would come good to Zeljeznicar.
