Ireland makes it to Japan and Korea 2002 despite a 1-0 defeat in Iran.

A 2-0 home victory was enough to seal the deal for the Irish, who are now preparing for their first major event since the 1994 World Cup in the USA.

They lost to a goal in the 90th minute of a game that they only had to not lose by more then 2 goals, missing their most influential and important player. They were unbeaten inthe previous 16 games with him.:D

Does that mean that Holland (or portugal) would lose to iran and Korea, because Ireland beat them ?? your logic is truly shite!! england beat germany 5-1 and the germans beat the Ukraine 4-1. Does that mean that England would beat the Ukraine 9-2 ??? ireland shouldnt of lost to iran, all teams can be unlucky in defeat!!! Saudi Arabia didnt beat Iran in the qualifiers you idiot, therefore on paper iran are a better team. Keep your flacid opinions in your hollow head, they do you no good!!!!!!!:evil:
