Who should the Top Seeds be for the upcoming world cup. Fifa will make the announcement on the 28th of November. Here is who I should get the seeds.

1. FRANCE
2. ARGENTINA
3. ITALY
4. PORTUGAL
5. SPAIN
6. BRAZIL
7. ENGLAND
8. CZECH REPUBLIC

Those are my picks. I think most are self explanitory. Brazil really doesn't deserve to be a top seed with the way they are playing. But they are Brazil and you know they will be there. I have the Czech Republic there although they still have to qualify. But if they do (and i am almost sure they will) I think they will get a seed. If they don't #8 goes to Columbia.

right on 'bout brasil. i despise them and their results over the past 3 years certainly shouldn't place them in the top 8, but like you said, they're always a true contender. not like spain and england who pretend to contend.

How do you figure England to be 8th Seed. they cant even beat Greece at home !!!I think that this is a list of teams that are better then England. Romania always seem to beat them in tournaments, Yugoslavia are a good team, Germany always have a good team in the finals ( they actually beat them at wembly and a freak result in munich), croatia , denmark and sweden are also better teams. And England always under achieve (in their own opinions).
Czech Republic
Yugoslavia
Germany
Romania
Croatia
Denmark
Sweden
Ireland are a better TEAM but england have better players, and they are England so Fifa will make sure that they are ahead of Ireland in the rankings to give them an easier draw!!!!
Ireland should be seeded (if they get there!) ahead of Engerland, as they have a better record then most group winners and were unbeaten in the qualifiers. If england had of finished 2nd in our group everybody would be tipping them as definate seeds. If Holland had of qualified , everybody would be tipping them for success and they would of definantly benn seeded, but because its plain old Ireland we shouldnt!!! We took Hollands place does that not warrant Proper (seeding) recognition????
Most people seem to think that Ireland were lucky and to an extent they are right , but look how close we have been since 94' , tyo qualifying to the tournament s, only to be really unlucky to go out (in qualifying). Ireland arent a super power , so they will never be seeded. They probobley wouldnt of been seeded even if they had of won their group (which they would of won most groups with !!).. Its all beauracracy....
Whatever you response , England should not be seeded!!

About Yugoslavia, well Drummer I hate to tell you this but we didn't make the World Cup.

About the seeds, I guess both the host-nations will automatically become seeds, it has always been this way, although I'm not sure about it being the case this WC.

France, Argentina, Italy, Brazil, Portugal deserve to be seeded, for the last spot I think England and Spain are the main contenders. Although I don't think these nations will make that much of an impact as has been predicted. The Czechs will make it, but I don't think they'll be selected as top-seeds although I do agree they have a great side. And I agree, you can call it bureaucracy.

As far as I know, the host country is always among the top seeds - which would make the top 8 France, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Korea, Japan, England - with the last place being among Spain and Germany (who will have it if they qualify).

And I agree that Brazil's campaign so far has been below our usual level; but it's amusing to notice that Argentina also had a pathethic WC '94 qualifiers' campaign, when they had to do the playoffs with Australia to qualify. AND they were seeded first in their group just the same, and nobody complained (Nobody I know of, I mean). People around the world seem to demand a much higher level from Brazil than they do from OTHER world-class teams.

And after all is said and done - would any of you guys REALLY want Brazil in the first-phase group with YOUR NT?

(That is, of course, IF we qualify; tomorrow we'll face Venezuela, and I'm not ruling out any disasters anymore)
   :depressed ;) :D

I didnt realise that yugoslavia were out, tough break, they are still a better bet to win the world cup then England!!! that was close. I would love if Ireland (if they qualify ) got brazil in their group, more because of the game then because of our chances against them. I dont particularly think we would win )wed have a fair chance) but it would be a dream for us to meet them..

get over it. that's the price you fans have to pay for the 4 stars. it seems like you're surprised by the fact people expect to see brasil playing at a top level all the time.

why we weren't getting scrutinized by the media before the euros after our pathetic qualifying run ? who cares. you know they'll be a top seed in the end right cos they will qualify, just like i knew my boys would in 2000 so sit back, relax and wait for december 1st to find out who's in your group.

I'm not surprised that people demand excellence from Brazil (They haven't been getting it, anyway :D ) I'm just pointing it out. :)

But about what I said - I'm not really sure about it; does anybody know for sure whether the hosts get to be seeded first automatically?
