Portugal 0-3 BiH
11' Dzeko
12' Dzeko
13' Dzekson

We will stay back after taking the 3-0 lead, Portugal will create plenty of chances but will not capitalize, we will win by 3. Bet the house on it.

It's not easy score against portugal....

Bosingwa + Pepe + Ricardo Carvalho + Duda

TM87_Maniac
10-20-2009, 04:57 AM
Nani sucks dude, what makes you so sure he will score

I have a feeling Bosnia will go for a goal frenzy from corners, Dzeko outsizes and out strengths any Portuguese defender.. even Ibisevic is pretty big and is good in the air.. but Dzeko is a monster I doubt there is a defender in the world that can stop him in the air :smoking:

I'm worried about our fullbacks though, Jahic has to have the game of his life to try and contain Ronaldo and Berberovic sucks ass but always does good for Bosnia hopefully he can contain Nani, I'm not worried about our CB's

idk if you guys know but away goals are counted double.. so lets say we win 2-1 in portugal.. its counted as a 4-1 win.. so portugal would have to beat us by a 2 goal margin in zenica to go through.. so lets say 2-0 (WHICH I DOUBT) the ending would look something like

Portugal 5-4 BIH (both games put together)

so I think atleast a tie is crucial in Portugal because you dont want to be in a tough situation at home.. you want to be able to play comfrtably without shit on your mind because thats what will put us off track.. I also think its great that our first game is away.. its in our favor..

a 1-1 tie away is pretty much a 2-1 win..

I have a gut feeling Portugal will come into this with a wiseass attitude and the bosancerosi will capitalize and pound them with a result of like 1-3 and then at Zenica it goes draw. I just see an upset in the making here.

ˇeljin Zmaj
10-20-2009, 10:23 PM
Watch this game be very annoying and odravtno. The Portuguese will come in very arrogant, and still win. Players like Pepe will foul around everywhere and not get a single foul called. Ronaldo will dive anywhere and he'll get penalties, freekicks, and whatnot. A random Portuguese goal will fly in after we had around 10 chances, then we'll concede 3 more after 80th minute.

Yes it is an opinion, and of course you are allowed to comment on peoples opinion. I'm just saying, if Bosnia go in to this match underestimating us because of our results in the WCQ you will end up losing.
Then there's the question if Bosnia can knock us out. Of course they can, I have no doubt about it. I honestly wished that we weren't drawn together because I would definitely have cheered for you to go through, now I can't, because I'm not going to cheer against my own team.

Lol, why are u scared of somebodies reaction? Even if Portugal beats BiH by 3 goals, i'm sure the Bosnian mods would delete any comments boasting about thier victory on this section, they might even hand out bans if they have the ability to and you can just simply ignore those reactions.

The same shit happenes on other forums like bigsoccer, those type of comments get deleted after 5 minutes and people start getting banned. Some pommies came to our section once to boast about thier victory in wembley and we decided to ban them :D

Portugal 3 - 1 Bosnia
Liedson Dzeko
Random x2

Bosnia 2 - 1 Portugal
Randomx2 Liedson

Liedson is a finisher, so I don't think we'll be missing ALL the chances we normally create, and expect him to score at least one.

To those guys still crying about the diving from Cristiano, the truth is that he's starting to get injuries from years of malicious tackles, it's insane all the nasty propaganda a bad attitude (as a regular person) can give u has a player. With what he has to take inside the field, I'd be diving alot more for the sake of the football career. And yes, he's not playing playoff, but personally I'm more worried about Pedro Mendes missing the first game (great defending midfielder).

About the refs --> bullshit.

About Bosnia, I'd really love to see them on WC, but not at Portugal's expenses...So I just hope Portugal get it.

If eventually Bosnia gets this, well, all I have to say is good luck and congrats.

Bosnia consistent?maybe, but they scored 25 goals,Portugal scored 17.Slightly stronger in the attack, but Bosnia suffered 13 goals,as Portugal only took 5,so in fact they both had 12.Portugal defence is stronger as the Bosnian attack looks more daring. Then the bosnia group was easier(check the other teams in the group stats, they weren't great or better than portugal opponents),take Spain off and you have a easy ride.Statistically things look better for Portugal, the team regained momentum and if Ronaldo is inspired, which he hasnt been for a while,bt you'll never know, one of those free kick goals and the rest will be over

AdoGunner (England)
Portugal is a great team, world class. The World Cup play-off is the biggest achievement for Bosnia-Herzegovina so far. If Bosnia make it to the World Cup that would be huge. That would mean so much for people of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Rubin Kazan beat Barcelona so I am 100% convinced that anything is possible in football.

Dzeko outsizes and out strengths any Portuguese defender.. even Ibisevic is pretty big and is good in the air..

Actually Dzeko is shorter than any of the Portuguese defenders, wich are physically strong too:

Dzeko 5'11" // 12.6 st
http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=102337&cc=5739

Carvalho 6'0" // 12.3 st

Pepe 6'1" // 11.3 st

Alves 6'2" // 12.9 st
http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=35997&cc=5739

So, Dzeko is actually shorter than any of the 3 Portuguese defenders. With Pedro Mendes out of the playoff, probably Pepe will take his place in Midfield.

Dzeko is good, yes ,no doubt about it, but this 3 players are world class players too and it will be quite a duel.

hmm, ok. thanks for the webpage. But anyway, Portugal's defense is good, not flawless obviously, but still strong with phisically capable and skilled players (Bosingwa, Carvalho, Alves and Pepe - left side defender sucks tho). More so, because we usually play with strong defensive players in midfield (too bad Pedro Mendes is out - he failed one pass the entire Malta game) like Meireles, Meira, Pepe, and Deco, which is Portugal playmaker, also recovers a shitload of balls.

Analyse time!

Portugal

- Eduardo -
- Bosingwa - Carvalho - Bruno Alves - Duda
- Deco - Pepe - Raul Meireles -
- Ronaldo - Liedson - Simćo -

Eduardo - 187cm - 6ft 1½
Bosingwa - 183 cm - 6ft 0
Carvalho - 183 cm - 6ft 0
Bruno Alves - 190cm - 6ft 3
Duda - 175 cm - 5ft 9
Deco - 174 cm - 5ft 8
Pepe - 186 cm - 6ft 1½
Raul Meireles - 179 cm - 5ft 10
Ronaldo - 185 cm - 6ft 1
Liedson - 175 cm - 5ft 9
Simćo - 172 cm - 5ft 7

Bosnia and Herzegovina

- Hasagic -
- Spahic - Nadarevic - Jahic - Rahimic -
- Pjanic - Ibricic - Misimovic - Salihovic -
- Ibisevic - Dzeko -

(lol probably failed completely there but doesn't matter exactly if its the correct line-up).

Hasagic - 186 cm - 6ft 1
Spahic - 183 cm - 6ft 0
Nadarevic - 185 cm - 6ft 1
Jahic - 183 cm - 6ft 0
Rahimic - 191 cm - 6ft 3
Pjanic - 180 cm - 5ft 11
Ibricic - 182 cm - 5ft 11½
Misimovic - 180 cm - 5ft 11
Salihovic - 182 cm - 5ft 11½
Ibisevic - 188 cm - 6ft 2
Dzeko - 192 cm - 6ft 3½

Alright. If we compare the Bosnian attackers to the Portuguese defence it would look a bit like this:

- Pjanic - Ibricic - Misimovic - Salihovic -
- xxxx - Ibisevic - Dzeko - xxxxxxx -

-

- Pepe -
- Duda - Carvalho - Bruno Alves - Bosingwa -

Pjanic vs Duda - Lost case for Portugal. Pjanics technique and passing will outshine Duda who isn't much of a defender. Duda will most likely be up the field and out of position for Ibisevic and Pjanic to take advantage of.
Carvalho vs Ibisevic - Ibisevic has an advantage in height here (188cm against Carvalhos 183cm). Carvalho is still an amazing player in the air, and has great foot work and body strenght, both in offence and defence.
Ibisevic is quick, Carvalho is pretty slow. He's also injury prone, making him even slower. Ibisevic can take advantage of this, along with his great technique.
Bruno Alves vs Dzeko - Probably one of 'the' duels we will be looking forward to. Pretty much equal in height here (Alves being 190 cm and Dzeko 192 cm), both are very very good players in the air, Dzeko possibly better offensively. Both very strong players, but i feel that the only way Dzeko can get past Alves is if he catches him out of position or beats him in the air.
Bosingwa vs Salihovic - Also an interesting match-up. Bosingwa is a very quick player, Salihovic is a very versatile player. Salihovic will probably feed alot of crosses to Dzeko and Ibisevic which Bosingwa will not be able to do anything about. Salihovic is also a good defender, so it will be interesting to see if Bosingwa can get past Salihovic and link up with Ronaldo.
Pepe vs Misimovic and Ibricic - This will be a hot part of the match. Pepe will obviously be aware of what this midfield is capable of. He will try not to let any passes go through, and is willing to stop it at any cost, we also know how Pepes patience and that he has a hot temperament. Expect AT LEAST a yellow card from one of these players.

I'm not sure if Queiros will put Duda on the starting eleven, I might be mistaken, but I think he'll go for Miguel Veloso. Btw, Carvalho is not a slow player, not as fast as Pepe which is one of the fastest defenders out there, but compensates with great positioning.

Also, regarding bosingwa, he rarely misses defending, it's really solid.

You guys need to check your sources, or you are completly blind :yuck:

Queiroz said amongst other things, and I quote:

"How do you rate Bosnia-Herzegovina?
They're a fantastic team, with great players who have acquired international experience. It's going to be very tough to play against them away from home because the atmosphere in their stadium will be spectacular. I've been there before and I think their fans are one of the reasons why they've got so far. We need to take great care and be prepared to play good football, because if we don't we'll be in for a big surprise. Though if we can continue the form we've shown in recent months we've got a great chance."

Now, what in my opinion has made ppl from BiH go haywire:

"
Should Portugal successfully negotiate the play-offs, can they be considered among the favourites to go all the way at South Africa 2010?
I think the hardest part for us has been qualifying. If we qualify, Portugal will definitely be firm contenders to win South Africa 2010, or at least finish on the podium.

You seem very sure...
I'm 100 per cent convinced we'll be there. I've got no doubts whatsoever. "

Source: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1122473.html#queiroz+im+convinced+well+qualify

Soooo, he says that BiH is a great team with great supporters, and you guys focus on the motivational part of the interview (that's the message to send to his team), what did you expect him to say? "oh no, we don't have any assurances, no no, we are a complete fluke, and we're ranked 10 and have achieved some good results on the last decade, but it was all by chance, so there's no way we gonna get this." :faint2:

Come on, stop acting like that. The all "all world is against us" is obnoxious, there's alot of people cheering for BiH and against Portugal in this, I mean, the only people I see around supporting Portugal are the portuguese, everyone is just cheering for BiH, I would be cheering for BiH if it wasn't against Portugal. Yeah, you guys have achieved alot and have a great team, that performs great attacking football. Just as natural as seeing BiH putting pressure on Portugal saying that "we're the one's obliged to win and BiH has nothing to loose" is Portugal's coach saying that he is confident on the win...it's psychology guys. And I think Queiroz and all the Portuguese have already shown their great respect for BiH, maybe it's time to start getting some back too.

And I really hope BiH is coming to play on Attack, Portugal does better with attacking teams (Netherland, England, Spain) than the more defense solid sides (Italy, Greece, etc). So, having BiH playing on attack, it's great news (both for Portugal and for football fans, since it makes a much better game).

Cheers

Monge, we all respect Portugal here, don't think that because of a few users were underrating or disrespecting your team in any way. That's just nonsense, we know better. I wish you could read some of our media because most of the interviews with our coaches and players say that we must be weary of Portugal, they're a great team, bla bla bla.

I read it in a Bosnian source that Queiroz is expecting bunker defense, I never said Portugal sucks or is stupid or anything like that, they are a class team

^ bro, Bosnian sources are correct only 5% of the time.

I rooted for Portugal in Euro 2008, along with Croatia, Turkey and Germany.

Bosona, chances are 50/50. We have good attacking squad but they easily misss goals. As far as this problem concerns low ranking teams like Estonia or Belgium it does not matter. But this time we face real challenge. Miss the chance and we will be penalized. Two or three such mistakes and we are finished.

I don't know much will depend on luck I guess. I would use adaptable configuration. Start with 4-4-2 but change to 5-3-2 depending on the circumstances and how we control the middle.

what's ur name man?? am Mirel

umm welll i don't kknow if it's 50:50
i see it more as 70:30 Portugal's way -- nimber of reasons but mainly FIFA and the referree
take you back to Spain and th e98th minute - they are shameless and basically what FIFA want is what FIFA gets -- FIFA wants Ronaldo and portugal

now am not saying we don't have the capacity or the ability -- i just htink that like you said if Ibisevic doesn't put those easy balls in the net well we're pretty much screwed --same goes for Dzeko
i think the only thing tha twill really save our ass is the midfield

if salihovic and ibricic are on fire ... they will sure up our defense and the chances of portugal scoring would be when hell freezes over

but if you have ibricic who lets players dominate the wings then makes the job relly difficult for our defense also considering spaha has a yello puts more rpessur eon him to be agressive but not agressive enough to be sent off--- hard to balance especially coz it's spaha hahah

i think our attacking midfield is pretty much solid as is our attak
the main thing is who do we put in the centre -- like i said i think bajro will def let us down .. no question as will rahmic as would muratovic -- they just don;t have the speed or stamina and well i know that bajro was good but at the end of the day hasn't really shown much

i mean if you take the emotions outs of this, medunjanin is our best hope am dead serious ...ho would field a 25 yr old versus 33 32 30??? i know who i'd pick

at the end of the day we shall see
also if begovic does really well in ipswich ( how';s he doin guys>>) and if hasagic gets absolutely no game time whatsoever then i see no justification for putting him between the sticks coz he will be RUSTY!!!

am blabbering so i shall stop and spare you :D

Hi, Mirel :)

its me daMir, sta radis care kako ide ...

about our chances,
We should play, if we think what others think we will never get on any competition. It will always be some bigger teams then we are. We just need to go and run the ball the best we can. No complaints if referees are against us, just smile in his face and keep playing. Regarding 98 minute in Spain; in my opinion it was our fault. The tactics is to play and not simulate.

I agree as you said Bajro is not as he was before the injury, and our wings are not as movable as Portugese. This brings further problems to our defense.

So this means the whole 532 will be moved further back towards our goal. That means harder time for our attacking squad and heaps more of running if we want to score.

ti jarane imas isto cool observations.

Now am cooling down after bunch of shitty exams. True defense players must be very alert. I would introduce some tests on how fast they respond before the game. If some were not fresh they really need to be replaced.

We need really quick defenders but not too quick to lose the ball in our 16 meters.
