After a run of three defeats it's crunch time for Maradona's Argentina. This is a must win game for us.
Messi hasn't been on top of his game. The lad has immense talent. I hope he scores for Argentina!!
I do not get this game at home. I will be streaming it live on Omnisport!! Can't afford to miss this one!!
Go Argentina!!!

Yeah man...Argentina needs to win...Maradona has been acting pretty stupid this days..with him threatening to leave and shit...but lets all hope for the best with him or without him, Because we don't lack any talent is all there...they need to start playing good Futbol...!

Isn't it funny? Maradona in the beginning was bragging about his team. And now is threatening to leave. I think he should do a little less talking and work on qualifying atleast. Maradona -the player was impressive. Not Maradona -the coach!
I feel that if Riquelme was still in the side, the entire gameplay would be different and Argentina would be winning !!

I feel the same way! I think if he is calling player like Aimar and Veron, Why not give Riquelme another opportunity?? I was reading that Maradona was thinking of using Aimar-Messi-Palermo as the trio-of strikers against Peru...I mean if you have guys like Tevez, Aguero, Higuain why use Palermo at the beginning?..Maybe give him a few minutes if we are winning not as a starter..I don't know

Could the unthinkable happen and Argentina not go to the World Cup in 2010? Maradona’s friend Ossie Ardiles has warned that if they do not qualify Maradona will lose his job and reputation. He has the players to perform but for some reason cannot get them playing in a way that does them justice. I used to think that Argentina played the best international football but at the moment, and speak as a football fan and not just because I am English, I am sorry that they a not doing well.
The WC will be the poorer without Argentina either because of the football or because there is always controversy around them, Argentines are poor losers and so will respond accordingly which although we in Europe tut and condemn but secretly enjoy the show which is part of the show.
I always look forward to Argentina and England (who will of course win WC 2010) playing as when England play them it brings the best out of the English players, it is strange though I read a book that put the rivalry down to Argentina once being an un-official colony of Britain and so Argentina have always considered that they were exploited by England.
I hope Argentina do qualify and show the rest of the World how to play football as a team and individuals. La-Nuestra

You Think?
Personally I would put the rivalry down to the fact that Margaret Thatcher sent the Royal Navy down there in 1982 and retook the Falklands Islands and killed thousands of Argies in doing so.
That is the main catalyst for such an intense rivalry.
Of course it is nothing as bad as when England plays Germany though. :smoking:

I hope Argentina qualifies as it wouldn't be the same without them.

There is areally good book called - England v's Argentina: World Cups and Other Small Wars by David Downing.
It goes into the history of the relationship of the two countries with the backdrop of football.
I read it sometime ago and lent my couple to someone and now do not have it.

Do or die time...if they can't beat Peru at home then it's better that they don't go to the world cup and embarrass themselves.

If Argentina Suffer Like This Against Peru...they Have No Chance Against Uruguay!
They Beat Peru With Just Garra....but Uruguayans Have That Plus They Have Better Players Than Peru.

 Argentina and Uruguay will need to go all out against each other now. But, if Chile gets at least a draw from the match in Santiago against Ecuador, Argentina and Uruguay should be safe, with one of them heading for the play-off against the 4th CONCACAF team.

Speaking as a neutral that should be some game. A lot at stake. What an advertisement that could be for South American football!!!

Oh for the love of God, I hope Maradonna leaves after the next match, I don't care what the final result is. with our talent and players we should be first, not fifth or sixth

I agree with you and I think that's what will eventually happen he will probably say how he has qualified the NT under a lot of pressure, But that he wishes to step down and stuff..due to credibility...I hope he does step down!

We are a few hours away from the big match..:)
If Argentina win this game then this will be win win situation and
that makes the team on track to get the proud at the same time
some of the players which are felling so much pressure are going
to be bit relived.
Thanks
