Amazing how one goal can lead to a total team collapse. Good job by Sporting.

Babb is looking great in the back.

Couple of questions. Is Andre Cruz still injured? Why is Cesar Prates not starting? Was he also injured?

Yeah, nice to see Pacos fall aprt. They are usually very tough at home.

Prates didn't start? I saw him playing most of the game.

I don't know about Cruz, but Babb is much better in the central defense. i'm more than happy to see him take the spot. Beto showed he can pick the free kick duties.

hugo started at right fullback and played about one half. niculae and jardel looked pretty deadly today.

rui bento also played about one half. he might have gotten hurt and viana came in and did a pretty good job.

on paper right now Sporting looks good.

Babb and Beto do a good job. Rui Jorge is the best left back in Portugal. the bentos will come around. JVP is doing fine and then you have at one pure goalscorer (jardel) and a capable partner in Niculae.

One Question
Was Sporting that good or was Pacos that bad ??

6-0 is a hefty result but did that scoreline flatter to deceive

66, that's right. I forgot about Hugo. Prates was hurt for a while, so maybe they are resting him when they can. I don't know.

I think Pacos F's resolve was destroyed after that Beto free kick, Until that point they were strong and the game looked to be a snoozer. After the goal, Sporting's offense opened up and we put away every opportunity. I think it was a combination of SCP playing very well and Pacos F totally losing heart.

Daeone is right. The first two goals took the life right out of Pacos. Their confidence went right out the door. Beto's goal was flukey at best, I thought the goalie should have had it. I can't remember how Paulo Bento got all alone on the second goal but he had all the time in the world to slot it to Sa Pinto for the score.

Pacos have a couple of decent players but their defense is suspect. Sounds like sporting not too long ago.:)

I think the Beto goal was a wicked curve ball that the wall probably should have done a better job in deflecting. The goalie had no chance because Beto put the ball in the side of the net the wall should have been protecting. I didn't know Beto could hit a ball with so much juice.
