Bayer Leverkusen have contacted Viking Stavanger about the possibility of resurrecting the deal for Finnish defender Hannu Tihinen.
After protracted talks recently, Tihinen’s proposed move to the Bundesliga outfit fell through when the Germans baulked at Viking’s asking price for the Finland international.
However Viking director Bjarne Berntsen has claimed that Leverkusen have been in contact again in the hope of agreeing a switch.
It now looks likely that the German side are interested in Tihinen but they will want to take another look at him when Viking meet Hertha Berlin in the second leg of the UEFA Cup tie next week.
