Norwegian First Division side Sandefjord are close to clinching the signature of Helsingborg midfielder Lars Bakkerud.
Bakkerud has made it clear to the Allsvenskan side that he favours a move home and his contract at the club runs out after the end of the season.
Bakkerud told TEAMtalk: "I have had a very good offer from Sandefjord. We are near an agreement but I am still not certain I will sign for them."
Bakkerud even hinted that he could remain at Helsingborg even though his name has been linked with a host of other clubs for several months. Other teams said to be in the frame include Bodo Glimt and Odd Grenland, but Sandefjord seem to have stolen a march on their rivals.
Bakkerud, who joined Helsingborg from Greek side Panionios before the 1999 season, added: "There have been talks with all three clubs but nothing more concrete than that.
"Sandefjord have high ambitions and are looking to get back to the Tippeliga as soon as possible."
