As with every four years, us viewers in the states have to figure out what times matches will be airing live. This usually has us staying up until 3 a.m. or being forced to miss those games at 8 a.m. when we're all going to work.

Do we know yet what time most matches will take place in South Africa? I can't remember what time games were being played in Germany... Anyway, what's the time difference?

I'm trying to figure this all out because A) I'm excited and have to know now! :D and B) I'm going to plan my internship around it so I can be sure I'll get to watch games! :D

In germany matches were played at 6pm and 8.45pm UTC GMT +1
This means that in the States it was between 1pm ( New York ) and 10am ( Los Angeles ) right ?

In South Africa ( UTC GMT +2 ) matches might be played to keep the original European timing, so at 7pm and 9.45pm, otherwise if they will play 6pm and 8.45pm local time just take away 1 hour, so between 12pm New York and 9am Los Angeles .

Hope i didn't do a mess lol

I'm in central time here in the States. I live in Alabama.

I was working at a summer camp the summer of Germany 06, and I remember seeing games on around 8:30 a.m. when I was leaving to go to work, and I also remember making my kids at camp watch a game around 11 a.m. :D

Sooo, I think your calculations are a bit off, I'm my memory serves me correctly. You certainly seem to know more about it than me though. Hmmm.

Thanks!
