Ok, i am as pissed as anyone at the poor performance that england gave not only against germany but finland. but to say that there qualification for the 2002 is in doubt is stupid. i mean as long as they beat greece, albania, and finland at home, and then beat albania away and get a draw in greece we will qualify for the play-off. Personally i think that England can beat greece and albania twice, i have no doubt they can beat finland in england. and i believe that england can get a result in germany. i am very disapointed in the way england are playing but i do not think they are in danger (yet) of not qualifying. And i still think they have a fair chance at winning the group. but we must play better from now on.

What a big joke if England couldn't qualify n' i really hope that they won't qualify they're superly overrated.they defense is a disaster. They couldn't even win Germany in Wembley how could they win Germany away?????

What? there defense was good. there problem is that they get beat in the midfield and because of that they don't get enough service to the midfielders. i don't think scholes should play if england us only 2 central midfielders, he doesn't have keane for england like he does for united to do all the dirty work. scholes is at his best playing ahead of two central midfielders and behind the two strikers, in that position he is fantastic.
Ok, I'm going to make a statment - I'll probably get slaughtered for it but anyway....
I thought England were quite encouraging, I mean they played bad but better than against Germany. If they keep that line up(or a similar one), so they get used playing togther under a secure manager they could do well.
I personally thought Sheringham played really well, for his first International in 18 months and should remain in the squad, because he is a very intelligent player and works hard(when he wants to).
Go on then, hit me with that abuse, I'm ready for it!

lolol i am not going to coomment on that for 2 reasons i did not see the match and i am not a huge supporter of England but i do watch them . as for There World Cup chances i agree with GB they are not in serious trouble RIGHT NOW however they do need to start winning and yes there were missing alot of players and really a road point is a good achievement especially considering the missing players things are not in crisis mode yet but they can get worse and they can get better for England and they are going to have to take it match by match

Their defense only concentrated on scholl n' bierhoff but not to hamann that's why he controlled the midfield n' do a lot of damage to england.

The reason why England were beaten in the midfield was because of the players the had there. scholes was playing behind the two strikers which left only southgate, who was playing out of position, to deal with hamman and company. keegan once againt got his tactics wrong, it is as simple as that. neo i agree with you, england played well against germany in the second half, they were the better team. and although they didn't play as good as the should have against finland they should have won 2-0.

You drew with Finland away, when u should have one, yet u are already counting 4 wins against Greece and Albania.
Is this overconfidence thing EVER gonna stop?? LOL
Albania is NOT an easy place to play. Teams like Germany have been held to draws their...
If u think u are gonna waltz in their come out with a 2-0 win, batta bing batta boom, YOU ARE WRONG. I mostly see a draw, or MAYBE a win. Only if ENG gets their act together...
As for the game with Greece. I can't see England leaving Athens with more than 1 point. Because 1)What do the Greeks have to lose? and 2) Greece is very hard to play in.
Now I am not ruling out a draw though. In fact thats probably whats gonna happen. But this Greece team (when healthy) is VERY capable of beating England.
England in my opinion better watch out, because they have some work cut out for them...

Chris -
Well, Keegan's gone (after the damage had been done), and presumably Seaman will be replaced with a good keeper, so that's two big improvements right there. But you are correct, many teams that were "better on paper" have gone into hostile venues and come out with only a draw or a loss. England will need to play at the top of its game to come back with any away points.

Everybody seems to be scared to win against Albania. They seem to have the K.L.A. ready in the stadium if an away team beats them.

Albania is not the "most comforable" place to play.
When we played them and lost 2-0. (I have to say though we were missing *9* regular starters) They were burning the Greek Flag and going crazy. Maybe it's their hatred for us, but it's intimidating for players.
They are the ass kickers off the group, but they are no pushovers either.
I just wish once Greece would get Faroe Isalnds...LOL
