Here is the thread for general discussion on the youngster and future star prospects of Juventus.

I'll open the discussion by putting up some youtube video's to introduce us to three of Juve's future greats, one of which I believe is a current great and only waiting to explode onto the European stage.

Giorgio Chiellini

http://img.skysports.com/07/09/218x298/Giorgio_Chiellini_574139.jpg

Position: Center Back, but can also play Left-back
Age: 23

After Juve's triumphant return to Serie A, Giorgio Chiellini was converted by coach Claudio Ranieri into a center-back, having played left back in his career until this point. Chiellini had a tremendous season, named by many as the best center-back in all of Serie A. Alongside his reborn center-defense partner Nicola Legrottaglie, the duo led Juventus to the 2nd-least conceded goals for the season, despite many penalties awarded against Juventus controversially.
International career

Chiellini made his debut for the Italian national team in November 2004 against Finland, and has since become a regular squad member. He won the European Under-19 Championship with Italy in 2003, and was also a member of the Italy team that won the bronze medals at the football tournament of the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was named in the 'UEFA Team of the tournament' of the 2007 U-21 Championships held in the Netherlands where they qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

He was called up to Italy's squad for Euro 2008, however Chiellini stood out more in that tournament for injuring fellow team mate and former FIFA World Player of the Year Fabio Cannavaro in a training session at Coverciano. He initially was sidelined in the opening game against the Netherlands, Italy went on to lose the match 3-0 and Chiellini eventually received the nod to partner Christian Panucci at centre back after disappointing displays from Andrea Barzagli and Marco Materazzi in the opening match.

Chiellini settled into the team by playing the next group matches against Romania and France his best display was to come against Spain where he kept both David Villa and Fernando Torres out of the game, although Italy lost the match on penalties with Iker Casillas saving both Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Di Natale's penalties.

Albin Ekdal (born July 28, 1989 in Bromma, Stockholm) is a Swedish attacking midfielder. He currently plays for Juventus.

Albin Ekdal started his professional playing career with IF Brommapojkarna at the beginning of the 2007 Allsvenskan season. He is a young player that is now playing for Juventus first squad for the season 2008/09. On May 23, 2008 he signed an official 4-year contract with Juventus. Ekdal turned down offers from Chelsea F.C. and F.C. Internazionale Milano when he was just 16 and 17 years old because his father, the Swedish journalist Lennart Ekdal said he must first finish high school.[1] Albin Ekdal made his Serie A debut on October 18, 2008 in the 1-2 defeat against Napoli when he came on as a substitute in the 75th minute, replacing Christian Poulsen.

On September 30th, Albin was called up or the Swedish U-21 National, for the first time in his career.

Theres like only 5 videos on Youtube on him.. only like 25 second ones.

Heres one of him hitting the post in a Juve game though.

Sebastian Giovinco

AKA: The Atomic Ant, due his short stature but explosive technical skills
Age: 21
Position: Attacking midfield

Is widely regarded as the heir to Del Piero's throne for Juve, but with Del Piero's scintillating form in the past two years has found it hard to penetrate the lineup.

Early History

Giovinco was born in Turin to Southern-Italian immigrant parents; his mother is from Catanzaro, Calabria and his father is from Palermo, Sicily.[4] He grew up highly interested in football and impressed Juventus who brought him into their youth system in 2001, at the age of 14. He then rose through the youth system ranks of the club, impressing by winning the Campionato Primavera with the bianconeri in their 2005–06 campaign.

International

Giovinco has represented Italy at every youth level from under-16s upwards. He was called up to Italy U-21 by head coach Pierluigi Casiraghi, on June 1, 2007 to make his first appearance at that level in a qualification match against Albania.[5] He gave the assist for Acquafresca who scored. Italy U-21 won the match 0–1.

He also starred at the 2008 Toulon Tournament, where he was voted most valuable player, scoring two goals in the opening game against the Ivory Coast,[6] and netting the winning penalty in the semifinal match against Japan.[7] Italy ultimately won the competition, defeating Chile 1–0 in the final.

Giovinco then appeared in the 2008 Olympic Games for the Italian team. He scored the first goal in a 3–0 win against Honduras in the first match of the competition where he struck the ball from outside of the box with his left foot. He also had an impressive second match against South Korea. His Olympic adventure ended after Italy lost 3–2 to Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Club

Juventus: He was successively integrated into the Juventus first team and made his debut on May 12, 2007 in a Serie B league match against Bologna, entering in as a substitute in place of Raffaele Palladino, and promptly marking his debut with a splendid assist for David Trezeguet's tap-in.

Empoli: On July 4, 2007 he was loaned out to Empoli, a Tuscan Serie A team that also took part in the UEFA Cup 2007–08. Giovinco scored his first Serie A goal on September 30, 2007 when Empoli beat Palermo 3–1. His goal became the game winner.

Giovinco caused large media interest when he scored his second goal a few weeks later, on November 4. The goal was an equalizer in the last minute against Roma, it was a long distance curling free kick from the right wing, a goal which was compared by some pundits to Ronaldinho's against England in the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Back to Juve: On June 26, 2008 it was confirmed that Giovinco would return to Juventus for the 2008–2009 campaign, giving him the chance to play at the UEFA Champions League level as well.

Giovinco played his first match for Juventus against Catania on September 24th, 2008. Giovinco substituted team mate Pavel Nedved late in second half, and played a great game assisting Amauri on Juventus' 1-0 goal. He scored his first goal with Juventus' jersey vs rivals Lecce on December 7th, 2008 from a freekick.

Del Piero: "Giovinco is the future of Juventus"

Giovinco wins Alex backing

Saturday 27 December, 2008

Alex Del Piero has told Sebastian Giovinco that he’ll one day inherit the Juventus No 10 shirt – but he’ll have to be patient.

The Under-21 international is a rising star in the Italian game and has inevitably been likened to the Old Lady skipper.

And although Del Piero does believe that Giovinco has the X-factor, he’s going to have to wait for his chance.

“I won’t be here in five years,” noted the 34-year-old. “But Giovinco will be. The future is his, along with [teammates] Claudio Marchisio and Paolo De Ceglie.”

Giovinco Has No Intentions Of Leaving Juventus

The Bianconeri’s young starlet has declared that he has no intentions of leaving the club, even if it were for a short period of time.

Juventus have been back to their brilliant best this term, with some stunning performances that have taken them to second position in the leagues standings.

With 36 points recorded from the first 17 rounds of football, the Scudetto and qualification for the UEFA Champions League once again remain on the club’s agenda.

Claudio Ranieri's men have scored an impressive 30 goals in the league thus far and they have one of the most potent strike forces in the competition. And it’s not difficult to see why, as they have the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Amauri, Vincenzo Iaquinta, David Trezeguet and Sebastian Giovinco running around.

The latter, however, has had a relatively tough time so far this term breaking into and holding down a spot in the starting XI. But the club’s brightest young talent remains adamant that he can turn this around in the near future.

In a recent interview, Giovinco declared that he will not be leaving Turin, and that he has the desire to prove his worth at all costs in the Juve shirt.

“I am always of the same opinion, in that I want to remain here in Turin,” Giovinco affirmed in an interview with Sportitalia.

“I am convinced that I can do well here, and I know that I have the qualities to be a part of this team.

“When I am given my opportunity, I will take it, and prove my value to this club,” he concluded.

The 21-year-old has a contract with the Bianconeri until 2013, and his latest comments should all but guarantee his stay in Turin.

Claudio Marchisio-23,Midfielder. Apsolutely a great talent, maybe a future Italian senior representative. He could be Juve's Gattuso.

Sebastian Giovinco-22, Wing midfield. I don't think there is anything to be said for him but that he is the new Del Piero, and posseses even more than he does-speed, agility, determination... Everything needed for a Juve first choice player.

Thanks for the support there snakies. Also there are lots of others that will shine in Juve's jersey. Don't get me wrong, but I don't share the same opinion with lots of others that De Ceglie is going to be a star. I think that he is worse than Molinaro. The only defenders that will be great in Juve's shirt are Ariaudo, Critsico, and Daud. I don't put Chiellini here because he is allready the best Italian defender, and one of the best 3 central backs on the planet- John Terry and Nemanja Vidic are the other two.
