Arsenal forward Dennis Bergkamp has denied rumours that he is on his way out of Highbury, after spending much of the season on the bench.
The 32-year-old Dutch international has started just four games for the Gunners so far this season fuelling speculation that his love affair with the North London club is close to over.

His agent Rod Jansen told The Sun: "He is seriously starting to wonder if Arsenal are trying to force him into a mood where he has to leave."

But Bergkamp scotched rumours saying: "It would hurt if anyone at Arsenal wanted to sell me because I feel I've given - and continue to give - a great deal to this club.

"I'm happy at Highbury and there is no problem between myself and Arsene Wenger.

"People need to understand that my agent deals with people at boardroom level so that's why he may have different information.

One of Dave Bassett's first jobs as manager of Leicester City will be to persuade unhappy midfield ace Muzzy Izzet to stay at the club.

The Turkish international, who could be worth as much as £8million, has said that although he hasn't handed in a transfer request he will be reviewing his future with the club.

Already Aston Villa's John Gregory is said to be interested in inviting the 26-year-old to cross the Midlands to Villa Park.

Jobless Bryan Robson has hit out at former employees Middlesbrough over the manner of his dismissal.

Speaking for the first time on a BBC2 documentary entitled 'The Bryan Robson Story', the former England captain said: "I asked the chief executive what was going on and I was told Steve McClaren was going to be appointed.

"That's the way I found out. I would have liked to have been told rather than find out in the press, which is what really happened."

Meanwhile, Chelsea chairman Ken Bates has told his players that they will travel to Israel, regardless of the result of a squad meeting after the Leicester game on Saturday.

Bates issued his edict after Gianfranco Zola suggested that a possible boycott of next week's UEFA Cup trip to face Hapoel Tel Aviv was still up for discussion in the meeting of Chelsea players at the weekend.

And finally, super-rich Watford boss Gianluca Vialli has said that the stress of being a football manager may make Vicarage Road a last port of call in his fledgling career.

Vialli, speaking to confirm that he is not interested in managing the Italian national squad at any stage, said: "I don't think this is my ambition. This is a 24-hour-a-day job. I have a lot of fun, but it can be very stressful.

"I don't think I want to do this for the rest of my life."
