Anything is possible in this one. However I just see BiH getting this somehow. With Misimovic, Ibricic, Ibisevic, Salihovic and Berberovic all being in such great form you cannot blame anyone for looking at a BiH victory in Istanbul.

Nobody can convince anyone of anything. How the hell do you know France, Portugal, Germany and other nations will qualify? Who in the world would have thought England would fall short of Euro? Saraj, I was just about to say to say to IAmLegend that I can't show him any proof that our current team is on par with Turkey other than the 2 games our teams actually played, and IAmLegend already said he won't count only two of those games, so I guess we just all have to wait and see how we do.
IMO though, we have one of the stronger teams that we ever had in our 15 year history, the boycotts have stopped, many good players that play good ball for respectable clubs in Europe, our fans are backing us once again, and MOST importantly we have a world-class coach on our team. Ciro has WC experience, has good NT coaching experience from coaching Croatia, and than Iran, and Coached a number of European teams. He can put us over the edge, he isn't allowing our players to become big headed and is punishing bad play/rewarding good play. I really hope he stays with BiH for a long time, he can do wonders for our team.
We will challenge Turkey, we will play them hard. Im not sure if we'll win though, considering it's at their house and they are a strong side, but I think we are on or at least near the same level as them.

Won't be an easy match for either team, and after reading through this entire thread it's obvious people are allowing their bias to blind their reasoning. Historical consistence and the fact that this will be played at home for Turkey makes me lean more toward a Turkish victory, but only just. Turkey as a team are slipping and Bosnia is growing.

You honestly need to be Turkish to understand the importance of playing at home with the crowd cheering you on. The supporters are like the 12th man.

Call me biased as much as you like. I successfully predicted the majority of winners in the Euro 2008. (Including the Turkey v Croatia and Turkey v Germany matches I was spot on! I only got ONE game out of place in Group A stage and that was because of the damned Portugese coach deciding to rest his players against Switzerland; which proved costly as it followed through to Knockout stage.)

No if's or but's and what if's from me. The Euro 2008 is over and done with - Turkey is no longer in the position of being able to call itself the Underdog and we have much more to lose over this. I think Bosnia will win against Turkey at home, but I honestly don't think it will happen in Istanbul.

BiH and Turkey are alike in the sense that we are very unpredictable.. One day we can be playing shitty football and then the next day we can be playing superb football.. You really don't know what to expect when you play these kinds of teams.. Very hard to predict!

Turkey.. Didn't have the greatest EC 2008 Qualifications (even though they beat Greece by a big margin and so on).. But then they play in EC 2008 and just make it to the semi's.. Really unpredictable in my opinion!

Even if you guys are struggling at the moment, I'm sure that Ciro and the BiH players will not underestimate you guys (as you are the favourites) and expect nothing more than a battle in Istanbul and we will be aiming to get the best result there that we can..

we havent played every match very well.. EC Qualifying was just horrible for us.. I hope that it will not repeat in these qualifiers!

Bulgaria friendly, we lost, but we got the best of that game even though we made 2 silly mistakes which costed us the game..

Spain match.. We had a few chances to go up front and pull off at least a tie in Spain.. However, i don't think that the goal should have counted.. Villa was clearly offside if you look at the replay.. However, we were playing defensive minded and Spain clearly dominated ball possession.

Estonia match.. We clearly dominated the match from first second to the last.. Estonia had 2 dangerous chances that they could have capitalized on, but good thing they didn't.. If we make those mistakes against Turkey, Belgium, they can be costly to us..

and i disagree that we are a masterful team, well at least not yet.. The big reason why we were playing better than usual is because we have a great tactician who took over the team and because the players decided to return back from the boycott.. We have quite a bit of talents, yes.. But we need to go out and do the exact same thing that we did in the last couple of games against Turkey and Belgium and prove that we are here to fight for 2nd place!

2 WC Qualifying matches will not guarantee that we will qualify or not.. Anything can happen.. If we play like we played in the last couple of matches, we certainly do have a chance.. Everyone is underestimating us and this is our chance to prove a lot of people wrong and get the results against Turkey and Belgium if we are to be considered anywhere close to a masterful team..

Look at Turkey.. Looked like they were not going to make it past the group stage in the EC and what do they do? They make a late comeback to beat Czech Republic, They do it again next game..

What happens?? We go in there and we score 2 goals and win the game.. Very unpredictable indeed!

Probably your best post ever. Short and damn right true. Bosnians need to step up for their own nation now and leave all this brotherly love talk out.

Honestly I think that the world is yet to see what BiH can do. The world did see some great signs when we smashed Estonia but I think this team that Ciro put together is dynamite. Every player out there is in excellent shape and the players which failed yesterday are all gone now. Ciro got the privilege to put a team together which had Sliskovic's great 2003-06 team and Fuad Muzurovic's New 2007-2008 team. I have to give A LOT of credit to Fuad Muzurovic for introducing great players such as Nadarevic, Dzeko, Ibricic, Rahimic to the National team after they have been ignored for so long. Now we got a complete team and a wonderful coach. Now its time to make that big result we always talked about. Its time for BiH to make something happen.

If Ciro doesn't get us to S. Africa. It would be world class if he manages to get us into Pot 3 for Euro 2012 qualifying where 3 from 1 group enter meaning we will be favorites for the top 3 spots. That would be a great accomplishment for him. Anyways, Ciro should stay with BiH until he departs from this world. Ciro is a legend.

Altintop is out. Ibisevic keeps scoring and scoring and scoring in Germany. He is the number 1 scorer in Germany. The best striker at the moment. Salihovic who also plays for Hoffenheim is the best freekick taker in the Bundesliga no question about it. he is like Beckam x3. :lol: Salihovic is also one of the best midfielders in that league. Salihovic and Ibisevic are the reason Hoffenheim is 5th in Germany right now.

Turkey without Altintop is so far less dangerous at the moment. They are missing this important left back, which means Ibisevic's, Dzeko's and Muslimovic's jobs will just get easier.
