I didn't watched the whole game, I watched most of the second half and from this part I can say that Cyprus deserved at least the draw. The goal of Italy in the last minutes was a real damper.

Despite the loss with this performance Cyprus proved that their relatively good performances in the Euro 2008 qualifiers were not just a parenthesis. With Anastasiadis on the bench they are determined for something good and I believe this team has a future with more sucesses.

lol your right Germany likes to win lots of matches in extra time but thats football for you, if you can score in the late stages of the game than why not score, just like when Germany scored again poland in the world cup when we won 1-0 right :D

Well it is actually a rising of Cypriot football, as this is these are the first ever sucesses of Cypriot football. Cyprus is in general a country with tiny football tradition.

A coincidence is that Anorthosis means rise/upsurge in Greek :lol:.

Cyprus played so well that they really deserved at least the point of draw but they were unlucky to get scored at last minute.

It's true we played crap and we didn't deserve to win. If we would have lost it would have been a fair result .

But that's how we are in September. We lack of condition, we lack of motivations, we lack of team spirit. All of these factors are built with time.

Cyprus played a great match, i'm sorry for them, they deserved the victory and i wish them to have better results against other NTs.

About us, the group on paper is easy, but hardly we have an easy path whoever is our opponent... Unluckily we lost Grosso, Gamberini and now Legrottaglie, defense is still a rebus .
