austria - france 3 - 1 Great victory for the austrians, and euro 2008 proved that their performance was not a fluke. Well done upset order in the group, romanians also lost, so excellent dramatic opening!

France is missing a couple of key players. Don't think of this as Austria being a huge threat. They had two penalties. ;)

France played without Ribery and Ben Afra...among others

Also, they are playing very disorganized. Half of their squad retired recently. Their team chemistry is horrible. They have arguments amongst each other.
Hopefully Serbia take advantage of this as we are not far too much better on those terms but we seem to be improving faster than them.

Even if France missed their starting lineup, they are expected to beat Austria. There are players hitting it big in EPL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, etc. that aren't even on bench in French team. It was either France sucked like hell or Austria became world class out of nowhere.

Austria came out this game with confidence, they knew France would be better than them but they fought till the end and ended up in a nice victory for the Austrians, first 2 goals from Austria could of been prevented because the french defense failed to clear the ball on both occasions, and the 3rd goal was a Penalty...
