Porto is back to Champions League!
The confirmation is on UEFA site:

"UEFA has confirmed that FC Porto will be admitted to the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League. "

UEFA statement
On Monday, European football's governing body issued the following statement: "As communicated on Friday 13 June, the disciplinary case regarding FC Porto and their entry to the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League season has been referred back to the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body. However, following the written grounds as sent by the UEFA Appeals Body, it can now be confirmed that FC Porto will be admitted to the UEFA Champions League in season 2008/09. This is essentially due to the proceedings in Portugal not having been finally concluded."

The motive is that the case is not concluded in the portuguese football disciplinary authorities. So, UEFA will wait for the final decision of the case in Portugal and then will decide. But, the end of the case in Portugal will take some time in Portugal, so, Portugal will play, for sure, in CL in the season 2008/2009.

Well at least a team that actually merited qualification to the CL are there. I think that it would have been unfair to put AC Milan in when they had failed to qualify.

Me too...AC Milan are very average and don't deserve to be in the Champions League.

actually eufa already said if porto wasnt allowed to play the next placed portugesse tema would replace them, ie the 2nd place finisher
