Arsenal set for defence of league crown.
Last years league and FA cup winners Arsenal, are set to defend their crown this season but they will face stiff competition from Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and last years runners up Everton. The champions have not strengtened in numbers only signing 1 player but that player is former Barcelona attacking midfielder Deco. Arsenal started the season, with three friendly matches and they were all won respectively. The next game is the community sheild against Everton.

English Community Shield: Everton 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal have won the community shield thanks to a Deco goal in the 81st minute. It was a tight affair and the goal came in perfect timing for the current champions, when they were starting to struggle a little. The game started at a furious pace but Everton missed key chances and Arsenal went on to win their 3rd cup in two years.

Derby joy for Arsenal.
Although there is a long way to go before Arsenal can reclaim the title, they caused the first dagger blow of the season by beating local and title rivals Chelsea 1-0 at the emirates stadium. Chelsea were put under early pressure and after only 16 minutes Arsenal scored with a goal from Adebayor. The rest of the game was mainly midfield play and Arsenal comfortably won in the end.
After two other wins against Southampton and Sheffield United before this match, Arsenal have 9 points out of 9 and sit third behind Portsmouth and Everton, although Everton have played a game more.

All square in Greece
Aresnal have drawn 0-0 against Olympiakos in their first CL match of the season, the game was a frustrating one for the gunners as they failed to capitilise on chances early on and it was made harder when Gallas was sent off in 67th minute but Arsenal will take the result and look to improve on it when they play Club Brugge next at home.

Arsenal 3-1 Club Brugge
Arsenal produced a late comeback to defeat Club Brugge 3-1 in the CL. Arsenal were missing countless chances and went a goal behind when a lovely curled shot from Sonck decived Lehmann. Arsenal looked lost but managed to score an equaliser and then in the last few minutes scored two goals to grab the win. Bad performance but good result.
Heres the table:
Arsenal P2/W1/D1/L0/GF3/GA1/GD2/PTS4
Palermo P1/W1/D0/L0/GF5/GA0/GD5/PTS3
-------
Brugge P3/W1/D0/L2/GF4/GA9/GD-5/PTS3
Olympiakos P2/W0/D1/L1/GF1/GA3/GD-2/PTS1
