Last game before the Euros.. Should be a great one.

Henrik Larsson is back! :smoking:

Looks like it will be Larsson - Ibrahimovic upfront tomorrow.

Too bad that Sheva and Voronin won't play :(

At home Україна are scary but away from home Sweden should be able to beat them easily.

Vic

It's a shame that Ukraine won't be having their best players in Sheva and Voronin in this game. This game was a like a preparation game before Russia in Euro 2008 and I'm affraid that this game will be pointless without them.

Hmm.. 2-0 Sweden.

Is Ibrahimovic playing?

Sweden will take this match 2:1

Vic

Yep Ibra will play tomorrow against Ukraine. He's feeling much better in his knee now.. I doubt that he'll play 90mins though.

This as Vic says was supposed to be a preperation for the Russia game but even though two key players are out it will be very similar to Russia because Russia don't have flair players and without Sheva and Voronin neither do Ukraine, so it is a similar game.

Vic

^ That's true Andy. Well they might even be better as a TEAM without Sheva and Voronin, who knows?

It will be interesting to see how we decide to play against them tomorrow.

Ibra is one of my favorite strikers in europe.

hotshot of a player! Superb goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic Goal playing at his time in Amsterdam:

We are waiting for a goal against the Ukraine!

Vic

That goal is just sick. I can sit here and watch that goal over and over again. Just magic.. His backheal goal against Italy in Euro 04' was a masterpiece aswell..

It was ages ago since he scored in the Swedish NT. It would mean very much for him and the team if he could score a goal tomorrow against Ukraine.

^ only superb,

no wonder, i read that he is making martial arts! Nice Kung Fu Goal!

Vic

^Yes - He's actually going to a K1 gala tonight and he trained with former K1 world champion Kruth for some month ago. Kruth said that Ibra would be worldclass in martial arts if he just would've had the will.

0-0 after first 45. We've seen some nice combinations with Ibra in the spotlight, pretty good game so far and Ukraine has stood up well without their best players in Sheva, Voronin.

Our captain Freddie Ljungberg will do a comeback in the second half. Go for it Freddie!

Vic

Terrible game. Second half performance was just pathetic. The only good thing about this is that it wasn't a game about points.

Shape up got damnit!

This was a friendly game and no-one out there today played at their best capacity. What I want to point out is that this game means nothing when the Euro kicks-off.

But if we play like we did today then we should just stay home and watch the competition on television.

I'm not worried though. We will be fit for fight when the ball kicks-off against Greece.

GO UKRAINE!

I watched this game. We actually looked quite good. Our young strikers proved that they can play on the international level. We could have actually scored more. Other than that bad mistake by Shaaban, he made some big saves to keep the score at 0-1. Isaksson also made some saves in the first. Save of the game probably goes to Pyatov for that save on Ibra. I thought that was going to be a goal. This was a good win for Ukraine to rehabilitate themselves from that horibble 3-0 loss to Netherlands. We have one more friendly with FYR Macedonia before WC 2010 Qualification starts.

As for Sweden, you can beat Russia, although with Guus as the coach any team can win.

Neither team has been impressive recently but these matches are just friendlies and the match between Greece and Sweden on June 10 will indicate what shape these teams are in.

You guys have to get more of these away results, at home Ukraine are formidable (trust me we experienced it) but away you guys have always struggled. You will probably beat Croatia and England at home or at lest draw but away I fear for you, to be honest as long as you and Croatia qualify I will be happy.

Congrats Shevafan and well done Ukraine.. You guys deserved the win and just as you say it could've been more.. Sweden played like a bunch of hens running around without heads.

Best of luck to Ukraine in the WCQ's.

Sweden better pull together because its not a bright idea heading into the tournament with such performances

Andygers

Yes I fully agree Saraj, Sweden need to get their act together before EURO 2008 or they could find themselves out on their backsides after only 3 games.

When is the last time Ibra scored for his National team? I lost count of the passed games.

Vic

I agree guys, we better shape up or else it will be embarassing watching Sweden in this championship.

However, friendlies are friendlies and has never been Sweden's melody. When it means points and so we have one of the strongest records (recent events) in Europe in qualifying for big events and making it out alive from the group phase, maybe even the best in whole europe? Not sure though..

Vic will tell you he knows these things.

Oh man it's a long long time. I actually remember his last goal and that was against Iceland at home in the last WCQ' game before WC 06. Hmm it's 2 and a half year since he banged in a goal for Sweden.

It's like he's cursed or something. He's been so close so many times and has deserved it. He's playing well and had a superb chance yesterday against Ukraine. I still don't know how that goalie could pull of that save. Amazing..

He was the best Swedish player against Ukraine together with Mellberg.

Please god make him score against Greece!!!!
