Well summer is coming up, It's barbeque times and the guitar is always with me when I chill with my friends.
Anyone else that plays the 6-string?

Right here.....except I play electric guitar
Oh cool, I'm all for acoustic but I'll probably get myself a electric one in the future..
How long have you been playing?

I have two Gibson's, a drum set, and a PA system as my living room furniture.
I love palying music. Sometimes people stop by just to crank out a song and have a cold refreshing beverage.
I also live two blocks from the beach so it is laid back where I live.

what's that?...if he played the skin flute at Celtic park?....most of the male supporters of Celtic play each other's skin flutes in the bathroom so Sinter would not cause much of a stir

What you should do is buy your self a used Ibanez Jam(they are less expensive)and forget the acoustic pain in your fingers...While the masters are being forged on Acoustic guitars,we the mere mortals can profit lot more from electric guitars...
It's up to how you inner ear reproduces the sounds and whether your 10 000 tiny hairs are being "set up"...Practice with your fingers and then download Guitar 5 pro and start playing Van Halen tabs...
There's no one better and more versatile guitarist for practice...Dont get lost in the mainstream
guitar music,it's bullshit...
+ there's You tube tutorials...Type Tears in the Rain on youtube and search for a guy that shows you the chords(the guy with the smallest pinky finger in the world,as he calls him self)...They are the weirdest looking chords you will ever see in your life,it feels good when you learn them...

Yeah, u can definitely find a lot of info online for beginning guitar -- and most of it is free. All kinds of videos on youtube and stuff -- but beware....
I just got from the "beginner" level to the "intermediate" level -- but it was with help from an online course that I had to pay for. I had started with the free stuff but the problem was that I couldn't ORGANIZE the free lessons in any kind of moderately rational way.. I was always switching between various videos and there was no order to anything. So I was trying to do scales when I should have just been dealing with really basic picking technique and etc.
So eventually I decided I need to do an actual online course -- http://consumerfilter.org/products/jamorama -- it actually worked pretty well! I might recommend you try it out.
cheers
