TSL Week 32: Galatasaray 1-0 Fenerbahce

This is no doubt the game which will decide the champion unless ofcourse it ends in a draw.

If we win this game all we have to do is get 3 points from our remaining 2 games after to claim the crown or a GS loss would do as well.

Zico is the Derby King, masallah he hasnt lost 1 derby match in league play.

We have a full squad vs GS bar Appiah and Carlos. No bans of any sort.

We need to find a goal as early as possible and ofcourse not conceed any.

GS will play dirty cause they cant beat us talent wise. But ofcourse the biggest factor is if the ref will allow it. GS was barely able to beat us when we had 8 men, with 11 men we should do fine. Hopefully a Cakir like ref wont be named the referee of the match.

For the starting line up most of the names are fixed bar any injuries during the week. But there could be some changes in the lineup. Should Ugur still play as LB instead of Vederson or maybe bench Kazim, move Ugur to his normal LW position and deivid back to the right wing. Or do we just bench Ugur and bring back Vederson. Hopefully Maldanado will be back, cant stand watching selcuk.

I doubt Zico will start Kazim this time, considering Ugur is in top form, Wederson is the only LB, and Deivid has only RM to play in. I would say Zico would pick Maldonado but I doubt he'll do that since Selcuk had to play last game. I think Zico is done experimenting for good...

Since the game is in ASY, GS will try to start fast, and will push us back to our half until we break the pressure and start going through the wings. With Deivid and Ugur in shape, I can't see Mehmet Topal being free enough to lock down Alex. I'm not really worried about Lincoln. Edu and Lugano should take care of him. What I am worried about is Nonda if he plays. GS starting with Hakan would pretty much mean handing the game to us.

This game is the derby of all derbies of this year. Even last year we didn't have such an important derby at the end of the season. I hope we win without suffering any injuries or suspensions...but then again this is a GS-FB match and there's bound to be yellows with a few reds sprinkled on top.

And Hakan Sukur will probably come on at some time during the end of the match to try and score a late goal as usual lol

We can also use Mehmet Guven if either Ayhan or Topal need to be replaced during the match

Yaman can also be used (which i really think he should start in the 11 instead of Balta)

Unfortunatley we have to have Sabri on the field ( i hope he goes crazy and scores one of those cracking shots he has on goal )

The Emre Gungor and Servet combo seems to be working well. No complaints there.

About the match, i can really see it becoming a tight one on galatasaray's side of the field, because it seems like we will be pushed back alot seeing as though we are going to be playing this type of formation.

We will probably see alot of stop start play, which i haaaate!!! Hopefully the ref goes easy on the cards this time and the players play clean.

I hope there are goals, but i also hope the margin those not blow out of control, for galatasaray's sake because i can see that this is a new chapter for these players. nonda, lincoln, baris, balta are so new when it comes to derbies, i hope they dont ***k up.

we need to control the midfield in order to put fenerbahce under pressure, fenerbahce's midfield is the key to this match. if we can shut down alex then it will be all over. i hope alex plays like he played against chelsea. i dont want to see him having total control of the ball because if he does he can unleash most of fenerbahces attacking force through the wing for gokhan, ugur, etc to latch onto.

then fenerbahe has kezman, devied and kazim richards who all step up at big matches, they will be deadly if they are on form. galatasaray need to shut them down too.

its going to be a interesting match.

Well, I do expect Galatasaray to come out fast, pressing hard in attack and midfield to force turnovers. Hopefully we can get Fenerbahce into card trouble early. However the same goes with Fenerbahce, they will be pushes Galatasaray eqaully and thats why this match will counter-balance itself, maybe not early but defantley as time goes on.

Galatasaray canot rely on beating Fenerbce by playing attacking, fluid football, so we have to press hard and then hope for something from Lincoln/Arda/Nonda to finish off.

2-1 to GS, 1st half dominated with GS and Lincoln (or Servet) scoring late in the half. Fener will play better in the second half and score an early goal with alex or deivid and keep the preasure on the entire match, untill Sukur who comes on from the bench scores a late goal!

Hakan Sukur and Umit Karan,Arda Turan's are derbi players....recent vs Fenerbahce games, Arda played very well. (last season he played with injured leg) full of passione.

Hakan Sukur is the vital point of this game.I believe and hope he will score the winning goal of this game.

Umit Karan is doubt for this game....He said that, final control today will answer the about it.

If he plays, I dont think Fenerbahce defens can stop him...He is playing something special as always vs Fenerbahce .

Lincoln recently top on fire...with high morale and motivation, he perform great.

Lately on the Turkish board I see when ever GS get beat they blame their own players (like Rangers do in Scotland) but when FB are defeated they always blame the refs (like Celtic fans in Scotland) I even see them blaming the referee before the game has started. Why is this?

andy mate, when one of ur players are given a red card because ur player is bending over to get a ball on the field at the exact same time when the ball boy all of a sudden decides to throw a ball at him you will understand.

Any maybe the fact that while Fener have prbly gotten only 5 penalties or so in the last 2.5 years while GS has probably gotten over 30.

The Turkish League is corrupt, i know it, sin knows it, every turkish league watcher knows it. Sometimes it is corrupt for Fenerbahce like during the Bicakci period, or for GS like when Ulusoy was president these past few years.

I mean we get offsides called on us when we are doing throw-ins. Or when our player is on our side of the pitch, it is ridiculous. The Turkish League is corrupt, i know it, sin knows it, every turkish league watcher knows it. Sometimes it is corrupt for Fenerbahce like during the Bicakci period, or for GS like when Ulusoy was president these past few years. Well that is a serious allegation, if the Turkish league is really corrupt (which I slightly doubt) then there should be a complete ban on these teams going into Europe until it is cleared up.

To the GS squad for tomorrow, Nonda will be the striker, which is great, he'd be more effective then Sukur starting, but Sukur definately needs to come in around the 70th minute.

To the right back position, if Song is fit he will play there. He's the best CD in the TSL so it'd be great if he can play, although he has jsut come back from a big injury so i don't know how fit he will be. Also, i haven't seen him in the RB position... but he has to be better then Sabri.

The goal was pure luck though, miscommunication between Edu (of course) and Volkan and it was an open goal left... Proving he is better then Kezman :D

Karan hit the post and Nonda had a good shot that Volkan kept out. We've been playing pretty good.
Servet made an excellent tackle in defence and him n Emre have been playing excellent.

Volkan had a thigh injury from kicking the ball but he played the half, let's see if he will be substituted at half time... Lugano got substituted for some reason.. i don't know why? He was on the floor twice but i thought he was faking it (and so did the reff) to slow down play. He didn't look injured though throughout the gameplay.

It's gone EXACTLY as i expected from my post in the 1st page:

Horrible performance by Fener, great pressure by GS.

Although the goal was bascially due to a mistake by the volkan/edu duo, kudos to nonda for capitalizing on the chance.

I cant describe the feeling i have. Its sooooo beautiful....i did not sleep at all last night and i was watching the match at a turkish cafe down the road of my house ahaha, there were about 100 people and most were Galatasarayli. It was amazing....

Anyway about the match. Its pretty fair to say that we deserved the win and dominated the match from early on. Galatasaray pressured and annoyed Fenerbahce so much and did you see how many top kaybi Fenerbahce did?? It was amazing. Galatasaray played with so much heart and you could see that. Every tackle, every counterattack and shot.

We should have been 1 or 2 nil up thanks to Umit Karan hitting the post. That was a heart stopper and so unlucky!!!

Aykut played so well, i was pretty nervous that he was going to slip up but he saved a the few decent shots Fenerbahce had in the match. He has really excelled.

Our defense was shaky near the wings and we left the flanks too open.

Emre Gungor and Servet were the best in the backline and i was really impressed with Emre.

even though we had Lincoln missing we still dominated the midfield. Arda, Baris, Ayhan played well. Arda and Sabri were the best in that area even though sabri was played RB!

I think Ayhan and Baris held the ball for too long and did not creat enough chances.

Arda did a few tricks that were applaudable.

Umit Karan played very well and was unlucky not to score

And what can i say about NONDA? Well he played very relaxed and calm and capatalised on a huge mistake by Volkan and Edu.

Galatasarays stratergy was simple, SCORE EARLY AND THEN HOLD THE LEAD. They played it all out to perfection.

About the referee. Im sure no one can complain about the standard of refereeing in this match. Firat Aydinus was superb, he was very fair and avoided the cards as much as possible.

There were a few instances which deserved cards however. Like when Edu body slammed Umit karan which made him rip the corner flag out of the ground. That deserved a yellow card for sure!!

Hakan Sukur defantley got fouled in the penalty area aswell. But to be fair a penalty then would have really spoiled the match.

Sabri was too rough on occasions aswell.

Lets talk about Fenerbahce.

I beleive Zico had no plan of attack for this match at all. It was horrible right from the begining!!

Galatasaray played with 10 turkish players, Fenerbahce had 6 and 3 half bloods.

Zico took lugano off at aroudn the 40th min? WHAT FOR? He says he was injured? this ruined fenerbahces defensive stratergy.

Zico put Semih in place of Kazim Richards. WHAT a horrible move. For the whole season it has been either kezman or semih out or in and now the total opposite?? how can he do that?? HOW??

Maldanado should not have played at all. he was horrible, he was playing as a stopper/creator? he did nothing of the sort.

Alex was no where to be seen, he touched the ball like literally 5 times. and that was mainly when he was taking a corner....

Kezman? he did not have his usual abilities. He usually runs for the ball, presses hard, makes the opponent do mistakes and latches on the ball. NOTHING!!

I just dont know what happened with Fenerbahce. But maybe they were tired from the CL? This is no excuse, they did not have the winning mentality coming into the match. They did not think it was a finals match says zico? no excuse at all....

this is what happens when you lose or draw to teams like bursa, kasimpasa, rizespor along the way and suddenly lose at a derby instead of winning it. you lose valuable points.

which brings me to the title race. how ***king exciting does this want to be???

Next match for Galatasaray and Sivas will determine it all. As Ayhan says, its the real final match.

If Galatasaray wins, they will take the league title, if they lose then it throws the doors open to anything possible.

if they draw they will still win the title....

Another home game and another three points is added to the total for the season. The derby win puts CimBom clear at the top of SuperLig with 73 points followed by a couple of teams on 70 points which includes our main challenger now for the title, Sivas.

All in all it was a good performance with no real concerns and in fact we should have won by a bigger margin that the 1-0 as Umit Karan hit the post and there were a couple of other positions where we should have scored but only a desire to score a perfect goal and some desperate defending by kept the score at 1-0. Aykut had a relatively uneventful day in goal as the defense and the defensive midfield played extremely well in denying space and time. Mehmet Topal and Ayhan played extremely well and never stopped running with Ayhan in particular linking the defense to attack very well. Baris was another that caught the eye, what a bargain that boy has been. Using Nonda and Umit in attack was also a good tactic as both are comfortable playing with their back to goaldand screening the ball allowing others to run on. It was noticeable after Hakan came on from Nonda that we lost that outlet and I have to say that as great a player as Hakan has been its time to stop, he looked slow and heavy footed.

Of course the goal was a result of a defensive mix up and it was such a shame that it happened to those two particular players, oh dear my heart bleeds especially after the Fortis Cup Match at Ali Sami Yen....

So our fate is now in our own hands, 4 more points from 2 matches and we will be the champions irrespective of what any other team does. The hardest game is the away match to Sivas where Umit will be missing, lets hope Lincoln is back to add some experience in the middle of the pitch as well as an attacking threat, lets also hope Sivas will roll over the same way they did just after the winter break, although I cannot see that right now.

I cant describe the feeling i have. Its sooooo beautiful....i did not sleep at all last night and i was watching the match at a turkish cafe down the road of my house ahaha, there were about 100 people and most were Galatasarayli. It was amazing....

Anyway about the match. Its pretty fair to say that we deserved the win and dominated the match from early on. Galatasaray pressured and annoyed Fenerbahce so much and did you see how many top kaybi Fenerbahce did?? It was amazing. Galatasaray played with so much heart and you could see that. Every tackle, every counterattack and shot.

We should have been 1 or 2 nil up thanks to Umit Karan hitting the post. That was a heart stopper and so unlucky!!!

Aykut played so well, i was pretty nervous that he was going to slip up but he saved a the few decent shots Fenerbahce had in the match. He has really excelled.

Our defense was shaky near the wings and we left the flanks too open.

Emre Gungor and Servet were the best in the backline and i was really impressed with Emre.

even though we had Lincoln missing we still dominated the midfield. Arda, Baris, Ayhan played well. Arda and Sabri were the best in that area even though sabri was played RB!

I think Ayhan and Baris held the ball for too long and did not creat enough chances.

Arda did a few tricks that were applaudable.

Umit Karan played very well and was unlucky not to score

And what can i say about NONDA? Well he played very relaxed and calm and capatalised on a huge mistake by Volkan and Edu.

Galatasarays stratergy was simple, SCORE EARLY AND THEN HOLD THE LEAD. They played it all out to perfection.

About the referee. Im sure no one can complain about the standard of refereeing in this match. Firat Aydinus was superb, he was very fair and avoided the cards as much as possible.

There were a few instances which deserved cards however. Like when Edu body slammed Umit karan which made him rip the corner flag out of the ground. That deserved a yellow card for sure!!

Hakan Sukur defantley got fouled in the penalty area aswell. But to be fair a penalty then would have really spoiled the match.

Sabri was too rough on occasions aswell.

Lets talk about Fenerbahce.

I beleive Zico had no plan of attack for this match at all. It was horrible right from the begining!!

Galatasaray played with 10 turkish players, Fenerbahce had 6 and 3 half bloods.

Zico took lugano off at aroudn the 40th min? WHAT FOR? He says he was injured? this ruined fenerbahces defensive stratergy.

Zico put Semih in place of Kazim Richards. WHAT a horrible move. For the whole season it has been either kezman or semih out or in and now the total opposite?? how can he do that?? HOW??

Maldanado should not have played at all. he was horrible, he was playing as a stopper/creator? he did nothing of the sort.

Alex was no where to be seen, he touched the ball like literally 5 times. and that was mainly when he was taking a corner....

Kezman? he did not have his usual abilities. He usually runs for the ball, presses hard, makes the opponent do mistakes and latches on the ball. NOTHING!!

I just dont know what happened with Fenerbahce. But maybe they were tired from the CL? This is no excuse, they did not have the winning mentality coming into the match. They did not think it was a finals match says zico? no excuse at all....

this is what happens when you lose or draw to teams like bursa, kasimpasa, rizespor along the way and suddenly lose at a derby instead of winning it. you lose valuable points.

which brings me to the title race. how ***king exciting does this want to be???

Next match for Galatasaray and Sivas will determine it all. As Ayhan says, its the real final match.

If Galatasaray wins, they will take the league title, if they lose then it throws the doors open to anything possible.

Do u know how scary it is, Kezman got around GS defense like 3-4 time and thats suppose to be our NTs defense. If kezman can make a makara out of those defenders i dont even wanna think wat the likes of C.Ronaldo is gonna do vs them.
