So yea.....I am thinking about taking a little trip to the region (Croatia & Bosnia) I would like some info on Sarajevo, Tuzla & possibly Zenica. Like the best clubs in those cities?, good sites to see?, where it is still dangerous?, do most people speak English?, and the best pick-up lines to use with Bosnian girls?:D...Any info would be appreciated

visit Sarajevo ofcourse.. it is one of the most beautiful cities in the balkans. you should go visit the bosnian pyramid in visoko (close by sarajevo) and take a few pics and post it up on here! :)
There are a lot of beautiful places that you can go to throughout Bosnia. You can go to the Bosnian beach in Hercegovina, the place is called Neum.. Really beautiful and ofcourse Croatia has a beautiful coast line!
There are a few people that speak english down there, but then the rest not really. It will really depend when you go because i would suggest going during the summer time because its amazing down there, but if you are going earlier than that then it would still be fine. in Zenica the best club is Celik, Tuzla its Sloboda and in Sarajevo ofcourse FK Sarajevo :p .. hahaha just wait till nermin reads that, he is going to flip out.. Ohh and with girls, lmao dont even bother. I actually thought before that if you pull out your passport and some cash that they would be all over you.. NOT TRUE!! Everyone says that they are really stuck up and not that easy to pick up although they are really hot! However, the ones that are easy are the ones also coming to travel around Bosnia.. Thats why i said before, that you should go during summer time my friend ;) .. And if you are planning on going to Bosnia during summer, then the best club is called Camel! its in Sanski Most!
Ohh and 1 more friendly advice, if you are to travel down there.. avoid the "cigani" (gypsies), they can really be a pain in the ass!

Thanks for the info....I am looking to go during the end of July.... beginning of August.......How is the bus service is it easy to travel around? and I heard some parts still have land mines...is that just in rural areas in the east towards Republic Srpska? I looked up Camel online.. looks pretty good....3000 people a night visit that club. What type of music do they play there?

^ well depends where you go, in places like Sarajevo, it can get really packed at times because a lot of people come visit during the summer from all over.. the states, canada, europe etc. Bus service.. uhmm im not quite sure and even my friends dont use the bus down there, they just rent cars or their families just let them have their cars.. But the busses should get you around no problem! Land mines.. there used to be still land mines behind the Grbavica stadium (Zeljeznicar Stadium), but i am pretty sure they removed them. I wouldnt be too worried about land mines around the bigger cities.. just dont walk alone through the woods and you should be fine lol, other than that.. they should have land mine signs if there are still the ones that need to be removed.

Camel, they usually play different kinds of music.. Usually pretty popular singers come there especially during the summer. Then as you can see on youtube, they have mixes and all kinds of other things!

So in the summer Sarajevo is very touristy?? I do not want to visit Sarajevo to talk to Americans, English & Canadians.

^ ahaha yeah, if someone tells you.. ohh i forgot something in the woods, can you go pick it up for me.. lol dont fall for that!
uhmm, you can say touristy.. but usually its bosnians from other countries visiting Bosnia.. Yet again, there are always the few foreigners that just come in to check the country out and all.. and especially with the Bosnian pyramid in visoko being worked on each day.. they say like Bosnia will jump to like the third highest tourist rate within the next 15 years because people would want to check the pyramid out! but yeah, i hope you have a fun trip there when you go..

Don't worry about those. They cleared 99% landmine sites already and if there were some left, a sign would show. Overlooking Sarajevo through the woods is what many tourists and citizens do lol

ulster, Bosnia and Herzegovina is rich in history!
if you really want to check out these historic sites
i'd suggest that you check these out too (if you want to, but ill just post them anyways so you know what Bosnia is about a bit) :
Srebrenik Fortress :
Srebrnik was first mentioned 15 February 1933 when the town was under the reign of viceroy Stjepan II Kotromanic (1314-1353). Delegation from Dubrovnik's Republic that day came in Srebrnik where viceroy Stjepan II Kotromanic "under the town of Srebrnik" issued a charter to Dubrovnik's Republic in which he confirmed their possesion in Stone's cape. Viceroy Stjepan II Kotromanic got son so those days were big feasts.
During the reign of Tvrtko I Bosnia was at the peak of it's power. After his death Hungary conquered Srebrnik for the first time. But several times Srebrnik managed to become free from Hungary until the second part of 14th century. Early in 1463 the Ottoman Empire conquered Srebrnik for the first time altogether with 117 Bosnian fortifications but in autumn 1463 Hungary took away Srebrnik again. Two years later Srebrnik became the center of bannat which included following towns: Tesanj, Soko, Barka (Brcko), Waja (unknown), Teocak & Gradacac. The bannat was under the rule of Matija Korvin until 1512 when the Ottoman Empire made, not numerious but brave army to capitulate.
There is no information about Srebrnik in the second half of the 16th century. Srebrnik was included in Gradacac military district in 1701. In 1718 peace was signed in Pozarevac so Srebrnik was near Austrian border. As a border place between two worlds Srebrnik became important again. In 1756 there were army in the town obedient to Gradacac captain. In Austrian report from 1790 Srebrnik was mentioned as an old castle while in 1804 there were 20 soldiers in the town. In report from 1833 there were 7 cannons while in 1835 Srebrnik was abandoned. Only few buildings remained in 1850 and among them there was a mosque used for prayers until the second half of 19th century.
Today's walls of the old town date from some earlier period (18th centuray) but the old town Srebrnik shows its old, middle-ages outlines. Today Srebrnik is one of the most beautiful & most preserved middle-aged towns in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

And I also never use stuff like Tylenol and Advil, it's all psychology. The thinking of it helping you out is what helps your headache out, the pill is no use. Plus that stuff is unhealthy for you.

da da tacno, svako ljeto stranci dolazi u sarajevu.
even though the airport is not too big like Nikola Tesla in Belgrade or Zracna Luka in Zagreb, Sarajevo Airport is around the size of Ljubljina Airport but still manages to get many and more tourists every summer - weather they are from diaspora or complete foreign tourists it is great for the tourism industry and many people come to Sarajevo as it is the no1 tourist attraction in Bosnia, this is due to great travel links - many Coach station's, biggest train station in Bosnia, Sarajevo electronic trams - first metropolitin service in Europe and an International Airport.
And on top of that all Sarajevo hosted the 1984 Olympic games and people are attracted to Sarajevo to come back to a great city that defended itself from aggresion to maintain a multi- ethnic society in an Independent and Democratic Bosnia.

i would never go to Banja Luka - not just becuase it is a Serb city Becuase i go To Belgrade, Bijelina and Zvornik where the majority is Serbs. but there is only 2 good sites in Banja Luka.
the Parliment building of RS Looks good even though the people inside are a**holes and one castle.
the point is that the Krajina region of Bosnia is very Boring - under populated and there is nothing there except some parts of flat lands and small valleys.
most of Krajina is under developed and is full of boring villages and boring villagers - Serbs, Bosnjaks, Turks and ostali.
ps: the towns of Bihac, Cazin, Kozarac and Prijedor are extremley Boring.

Banja Luka is not a Serb City Ulster. Anyways, if you want to find some fine girls then go into Banja Luka, Sarajevo, and also Brcko. However you need to quickly change personalities. I suggest not talking politics with people while visiting Bosnia.
That is not going to happen :D

i would never go to Banja Luka - not just becuase it is a Serb city
Again, it was never a Serbian city....and won't ever be. It is a city within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia wasn't place of politics. It was turned into that because of the war breaking out in the early 90's. Its a wonderful place, just spoiled with political clashes.

If youre to visit Sarajevo you must definitely spend one evening at Park Princeva as someone already has mentioned. A magnificent place to enjoy bosnian cuisine and music while having the perfect panoramic view over Sarajevo. Add some prayers from the minarets in the background and you cant ask for more. I`m agnostic but I still love the sound of those morning and evening prayers.
As for other restaurants downtown you should definitely pay visit to Dveri. A fabulous restaurant down in the turkish quarter ("Bascarsija") that proves a bit tricky to find the first time. Cant recommend this place strong enough:
http://www.dveri.co.ba/english/aboutus.html
Inat Kuca also lays in the same area, and should definitely be paid a visit:

Last place to recommend is the excellent Sarajevsko-brewery that comes with their own classy pub. Make sure you`ll try their dark ale, as its the only of its kind in Bosnia, and its the only place to get a taste of it.

Finally, you should make sure to try out the cevapis ...
http://recepti.bosnablog.com/files/2007/06/sis-cevapi-bosanski.jpg
and the "Boza"..
http://static.flickr.com/30/52384064_1161c82729_o.jpg
.. while youre there. And, by the way, paying a visit to the "Tunnel-museum" located by the Butmir Airport should almost be an obligated part of anyones upraising.
Enjoy your trip!:thumb:

^ party on baby, and yeah make us proud and become the first Bosnian to step into NFL soil heh
Hey what college are you going to? You know college football is sometimes more fun to watch than NFL? They play for the passion while the NFL plays for the money, plus they have those rankings like they do in college basketball.

Right now I'm 17 I got 2 more years of High School Football. But I went to a combine in Pittsburgh an there was 1,500 people there and I came in 37th in my position which had like 150-300 people, so I've been getting letters from Pitt, Penn State to come to there camps for 7days an I also got invited to the National Combine in Texas which I'm thinking about going but my coaches tell me I shouldn't go down there is to far an Penn State will have a National Combine also. But if I went to Texas the best 250 players get put on Rivals.com an Scout.com so thats why I want to go lol.
But here is my e-mail for proof:

Bosnian food is for the most part based on various sorts of meat. You could never go wrong ordering bosnian meat dishes from the menu. You`d also find that seafood often figures on the menu as well. Just as vegetarian dishes and salads. Only thing I`d recommend to stay away from is the "Black risotto" - sometimes also referred to as "Squid risotto". Leave that to the ones with either a deathwish or a hung up on ink as a vital part of their food. Make sure to always order the homemade bread when youre in a restaurant. It gets served straight from the oven, tastes f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c, and is a great appetizer while waiting for the main dishes to be served. You should try the bosnian wine as well and ask for it to be served spiced warm. Excellent!
Political discussions on a general basis seldom turns out to be a problem, but when it comes to discussing the war you should leave that subject to be initiated by the locals. Some people dont mind talking about it - some really do. As for a place to stay I`d recommend to stear clear of the big hotels and opt for one of the guest-houses instead. Most of them are located in the Bascarsija-area and my preferred one is Halvat Guest House. Excellent place to stay!

Bosnian hospitality at its best.
