View Full Version : Will Berbatov leave Tottenham?
It looks like Berbatov might be leaving Tottenham to chance his dreams with a team in a champions league position....
he could be transfered for a fee up to 40 million euros

Frislty I think Berbatov is a great player, with great awareness, vision, timing and skill. He would get in most any team and improve it.
I think he will leave, futhrermore I think Spurs should let him go, you cannot have a player that is continually linked with a move away, it is not good for the team, and I think Ramos will have evaluated it decided yep, he wants to go and that this will happen every transfer window, and that he might as well cash in whilst the monies good, and work on a new team without his current best player. It is best to make the break ASAP and start building a-fresh.

It's been suggested that Berbatov feels Spurs lack ambition, and as such he's instructed his agent to tout him to SPL clubs.
There initially hasn't been much interest, which is understandable, but Hamilton Academicals have offered him a trial with a move to securing a one year loan deal.
Personally I don't feel he has the ability to make the step up,but I think this would be just be a stop-gap signing until better players become available.

Ive been doing some research on the Berbatov move and came across this quote from him on a Bulgarian news website..
"I've told my agent I am prepared to leave. I want to do it in the best way possible, and dream of playing for Hamilton Academical, who I have supported since my childhood in Bulgaria."

I think Berbatov will be gone by the weekend I think he'll be a Man United player come the 1st game of the season.

Well he's been constantly linked with Utd since he moved to Spurs. It seems he's handed in a transfer request now and looks set to move to Man U within the next few days. Personally, despite respecting his ability in front of goal, I'm not a fan of the incredible sulk. He seems like he can be as bad an influence on the team as a good striker. Since he moved to Spurs all I heard him do is moan!
I'd much prefer a striker like Huntelaar or Villa but am pretty sure it will be Berba that ends up at Utd.

He played like 25 minutes as a sub, and played pretty well.

I think Berba is just what Man Utd needs, I reckon they lacked a Striker like Berbatov at times last time. As for Spurs I don't think they will be able to replace Berbatov with the same calibre of Striker. Any Ideas on who Could be Replacling him there?

I hope he does go, I'm getting really bored of the whole thing now, this was going on last season as well.
If I were a Spurs fan (Nearly burst into song then) I would want him gone sooner rather than later, this must be effecting their decision to buy a replacement.
If I were Man U fan, (well I come from London live in Ireland, sounds like a Man U fan). I'm not sure I would want Berbatov as Gavmundo says he will not be a good influence in the dressing room. What with Ronaldo wanting to leave they might both start moaning, hopefully Rooney will lose his temper and twat them both.

I hope he does cos I don't want him at Utd lol. We do need a striker but not one that sulks if he's left out of the team. Spurs players hate his guts lol. Not a great advertisement for a team player. City have had a offer accepted today and would be more than happy if he goes there. I'd prefer to rely on Fraiser Campbell rather that rely on the Incredible Sulk.
Six hrs of the transfer window left. I'd be happy if Utd had another target but I doubt it. I'm happy with the team we have though. We could do with a striker (as we don't have one other than Campbell) but we will win games without one.
As for being able to let Ronaldo go if Berba or another such striker arrived at OT ... why? Ron isn't a striker! He adds more to the team than just goals. His job is as a creative winger/forward not a striker so Ron isn't going anywhere whoever we bring in.

I hope he won't, because it will be a massive loss for Tottenham. I don't wish Man U bad, but he was important for them.

He won't play for Spurs again. He's bruned his bridges there. The fans and even his teammates hate him. He won't play for them again it all depends on which teams agree deals with Spurs. I would prefer him to go abroad but if he has to play for anyone I hope it's City... because they won't make any progress this season whether he's there or not ;)

Sky Sports News understands that Dimitar Berbatov is currently holding talks with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
A tug-of-war is developing for the Bulgaria international's services with Manchester City having seen a shock deadline day bid in excess of £30million accepted by Tottenham.
The Spurs striker has been tracked by the Premier League and European champions throughout the summer and has previously intimated that a move to Old Trafford is his 'dream'.
City stunned the football world with their audacious late approach, but United remain very much in the equation.
Real report
Mark Hughes has told Sky Sports News that he hopes to meet Berbatov later in the day, but Ferguson is already sitting down with the talented forward at the club's Carrington training ground.
Berbatov has been left out of Juande Ramos' plans for the club's last two matches, with the coach feeling his presence was a disruptive influence on the rest of the squad.
Ramos admitted earlier in the day he wanted the saga to be resolved one way or another, and has targets in mind to replace the Bulgarian.
To add further confusion to the saga, reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid are planning to make a €45million (£36.5million) bid for his services.
PLEASSSSEEEEE make a bid Real

I know what you mean cause I followed Chelsea for some time now. The fans will be mentally hurt. Chelsea fans have the mentality that they can buy anyone for anything. This will honestly put them back into reality
I heard that some already commited suicide

As much as I hate that **** Calderon for doing this, you have to admit he really outplayed kenyon on this.
He got way more money + he doesn't have to deal with a Robinho Chelsea if they meet in CL, and Man City plays in UEFA Cup!

if he leaves tottenham and comes to Man United that would be awesome for United to put another decent striker with rooney

Erm you're a bit behind on the convo Am he already had signed for Utd at that point ;)
I've always admired the guy ... top player
We did need a striker (Rooney isn't a striker by the way) but I would have preferred Huntelaar but Berba is a proven Premiership striker which is why Fergie will have been interested. Now he just needs to prove himself.... to ME! ;) Just one hint of a frown when he's on the bench and he can pack is bags ;)

No but he does frown when he isn't happy. He was super sulk at Spurs when he didn't get his own way. I'd love to see him try that with Fergie though
